Lusaka City Council maximises its street lighting project

Share

The Lusaka city Council says it has made a great progress in putting up street lights in the streets of Lusaka using the K1.6 billion government grant.

LCC Public Relations Officer, Henry Kapata said the Great East road has been fully installed with street lights.

Mr Kapata said the council has now started installing street lights on other major roads across the city.

He said the council is working hard to ensure that by 2010 the entire Capital city will have street lights.

He also revealed that the council has put in place various intervention measures that will ensure that the street lights were not vandalized.

Mr.Kapata said the new poles have been made in way that it will be difficult for vandalism.

He urged motorists to drive with care saying the council will charge careless motorists knocking down the poles K 15 million as penalty fee.

  2. I think , what the council is doing ,admittedly is very a great job;needing the support of all thinking Zambians . The man , Hernry kapata as a spoken wise person of the council deserves our support. We all know the importance of local authorities / municipalities/ councils in a nation.

  3. The animal auction story is a Fool’s day story. Its not real. LT pulled a fast one on all of us. I even ordered 2 impalas

  4. LCC, why put steet lights when the streets have almost disappeard? This does not make sense. Put the tar and Road names , then you can start talking about lights.
    Please LCC use your brains.

  5. Mikomfwa, this story is interesting. Like you said, its a typical scenario of, “And Kapata said, let their be lights…but there was a power failure”!

Our President passes thro there almost monthly and funny, it’s ok for him. As the saying goes you won’t see dirt in your h/se but outsider s will. Now I have told you., do something. And ba simwinga ku kitwe repair traffic lights. I was always confused driving throu them. They go straight from green to red. In some places no light means red. Guys coming from overseas be careful, You will crash.
