NGP describes late Castro Chiluba as brilliant youth

Corrected
The opposition New Generation Party (NGP) has described the death of second President Frederick Chiluba’s son, Castro, as a big blow to the party.

Castro, 33, died yesterday at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) around 15:00hours after an illness. He was Dr. Chiluba’s fifth child.

Funeral was being held at Dr. Chiluba’s former wife Vera Tembo’s residence in Kabulonga.

NGP president, Cosmo Mumba told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today, that the late Castro has left a big gap in the party.

Mr. Mumba said the late Castro played a very important role and contributed greatly to the development of the party.

He said the late Castro would sadly be missed and remembered by the New Generation Party members.

Mr.Mumba said Castro was a very intelligent young man, who had brilliant ideas that have contributed effectively to making the opposition NGP what it is today.

He said the New Generation Party would always use the brilliant ideas that the late Castro has left.

He said the New Generation Party has since decided to suspend all party entertainment activities until after the funeral of Castro.

He has since asked the people of Zambia to come in large numbers and mourn together with the Chiluba family.

The New Generation Party leader said although the late Castro had offended a lot of people before apologizing to the nation, Zambians must not consider the past ways but the recent behavior.

Castro joined the New Generation Party about a year ago and served as deputy national secretary for six months and Youth Chairman for three months.

  1. What utter nonsense!! This party’s name infact should change to DGP (Drunks Generation Party). It would then make sense for chi Cosmo to say what he is saying.

  2. Pliz.!!!…..

Can people pliz watch how people talk about this guy…..you know…a lot of young people are dying….because of the same reckless behaviour castro demonstrated…..bringing attention to castro in this way only glorifies this behaviour…..

Further I am of the view that if he died of an illness…..it should be clearly stated what this illness was…beacause its for the public good…..Personally…after reading the text…I am lead to imply that he died of HIV….

Alot of young prominent peoples children have died of teh disease…so if he had it I think it should be disclosed to detter other young people…..Therefore glorify castro as a detterant of bad behaviour …..because if hehadn’t got illl….i seriously think that he wouldn’t have changed or joined…

  3. sometimes it is better not say or rather praise someone when they die, what brilliance is he talking about? let the guy just rest in peace

  4. cosmo is a joker darlings…..I dont even know why LT gives him air time…He has a doctorate my………………….!….Plain an simple he is just an opportunist!!!!!!….

  5. I bet castro joined the party because normal life without public resources to fund his lifestyle was too much to bear. It’s no secret that people that fall from grace have a fastrack course of being humble in life. Like most previously wealthy politically linked people he resorted to politics which is the only career in Zambia where brains are not needed

  6. Imwe #6, wakamba mushe iwe! Glorifying wrong things seems to be the order of the day. What good did castro do, honestly? Whether he died in Christ is another thing, but the fact is he left a negative print on earth and for some affected people, his passing is a blessing! Aya ma facts.

  7. No no no guys!!! At times let us be honest, INGEFI UYU UMUSAMBASHI ATUSHILE KWENA we knew how bad he was, thank God Zambia is a christian nation we forgive. But anyway may his soul rest in peace. But sorry there party wouldn’t have gone anywhere.

  8. Is this Cosmo ok in terms of mental health? One wonders!!!!! The whole lot of him, rises to utter nonsense in public, shameless miserable political bootlicker

  9. BA Moze, kwati nimwebo ba Emmy Routes ati “aya ma facts” tyetyteyetyetyetyetey mwaaaaaaaaahaahahaa wandepula,Cosmo worse.Nalaya naku ladies nite lelo

  10. fyabupuba efi ka cosmopolitan naiwe!!what brilliant ideas?why did u expel him?don’t scatter roses after someone is gone…call a spade a spade or just keep quiet!

  11. Zoe, when you refer to “the whole lot of Cosmo”, am confused. Bushe paliba nakantu palyapene? Cosmo is a scatter brain. Not even the best surgeon can operate on that chaps head. Amano yalibulila Cosmo. In short, Chipuba!!!!

  12. Spring Chicken, the guy was totally depending on his mother for everything. Imagine….from head to toe

  13. Baby C, you have said it. Its people like him and his late friend and Siulapwa who gave the term, “Youth” a bad name in Zambia. Ati Brilliant? mamawe!!!

  14. Genius. lets be serious. atleast he repented before he died. i hope all u bloggers do the same b4 “after a long illness=AIDS”

  15. Well, lets not talk much, maybe Cosmo saw some brilliance in his late friend, we are different ka…

  16. Cosmo Mumba, is your party about development of Zed or its burrial? Castro Mpundu (Chiluba) a bright youngman? What a joke!!!

  17. The Bible says that shall not judge,. we all know what that guy did , and thats between him and God. I just want to say RIP.

  18. Cosmo had to say something. i dont think he beleives in what he said, but he knows it can catch him some limelight.

  19. Castro was busy violating citizens while his father was plundering the country. One down.

  20. Cosmo is a doctor in sunday school like his relative Nervious Mumba. He is a failure in life. He has never been to any university. Doctor, my foot.

  21. If Mr. Mumba on behalf of NGP says Castrol has left a big gap to his party and he is hoping to continue on Castrol’s ideas, then am left with no option but to shun the party.
Knowing the late Castrol’s pride and selfishness, I would be very deceiving to tell people that he was a good person unless I didn’t know the meaning of being good.
If Mumba says, Castrol’s death is a loss, then I would say it is a relief to the people he mistreated. Sympathizing with him is like sympathizing with a well known notorious murderer for being sentenced to death.

  22. According to the Bible it says when you repent and ask for forgiveness from the people you wronged you become a new person.Castro repented and asked for forgiveness from the people he wronged,if he was forgiven who are we to bring his past doings on his funeral.

  23. Cosmo must have whaffled after a ‘Landenipo’ invitation. Its clear to everyone that Mr castro failed to conduct himself well when he had opportunities to do so, much like his father anyway.

  24. As Much as we have jugded Castro, lets think about our lives and our relationship with Christ. Are we not sinners? The is just like the parable of the two worshiper where the pharesee was saying that he was better than the tax collector.

  25. i’ve no words…mau less.this man must have smoked serious mbanje.plz don’t change the meaning of the words brilliant, intelligent and so forth.we know there is no joy in death,MHSRIP,but fo this man to say what he said esp as a party president with hopes of one day looking after the affairs of mother zed makes very sad reading.better offer yo condole.to the family esp vera fo losing her son than exposing yo hypocrisy …ba mumba do yu mean what yu said?did yu give the late those positions simply bcose yu wanted financial support from his parents?are yu the kind of “young presidence” us the youth will stand for?my foot!!,bwezani and sata are even laughing at the so called youths…give us a break!

  26. LT, WHATS HAPPENING TO MY MESSAGES? AM NOT SEEING MOST OF THEM THAT AM SENDING. COSMO ULEIKALAFYE NGA TAUKWETE IFYAKUCITA NOKULANDA. JUST TRY GOING TO THE TOILET AND VOMIT SOME OF THE FILTH THAT YOU SAY IN PUBLIC, WE REALY DONT NEED YOUR INPUT, YOU ARE JUST A SHADOW OF WHATEVER DOCTORATE YOU HAVE.

  27. BUT CHI BUSH DOCTOR COSMO CHIPUBA BIG TIME. THIS PARTY SHOULD BE CALLED NEW GENERATION OF DRUNKARDS PARTY (NGDP).

  28. fo bloggers that have misunderstood this writing,we’re not judging castrol,God forbid.we sympathize with the family, and surely if he repented…we thank God for that.remember the story of the 2 criminals on the xross…will not go into details.
cosmo mumba and his fellow party members want to take the citizenry for granted.we’re not blind,we’ve the intelligence to know who good politicians, clergimen, civil servants, bloggers etc are…musiya tiluvyanye!!

  29. # 7 Cosmo is a grade 12 failure i guess you know what i mean with unsatisfactory in all the subjects. The chap was at Kabulonga Boys and has never gone to any college and has never done any course, he just gave himself a doctrate.. if he has one nishi niya kumatero

  30. ba mumba plse was castro saved before he dead or you just want tuma half twashalako from the father…

  31. # 46 Bakamba ba moze i watched the programme on Muvi TV were castro asked for forgiveness to the nation. he asked for forgiveness

  32. Castro may have been a bad person by human standards, but none of us have a right to judge. A life has been lost, and his family are feeling the grief and the pain. Anyone who has lost a loved one knows the pain of grief and at this time we should all just commit the family in prayers. Wheather he was good or bad it is not for any of us to judge. With God all of us are sinners and no better than Castro, sin is the same colour. The important thing is if Castro made his peace with God then he will be received by God. If anything we should be more worried about ourselves, Castro is gone and it is over.

  33. “Mr.Mumba said Castro was a very intelligent young man, who had brilliant ideas that have contributed effectively to making the opposition NGP what it is today.” What is it today?

Anyway I will be going for the funeral, just to make sure that it is Castro’s butt they are burying…

  34. “Castro will be greatly missed” not by the right thinking public, the guy was a nuisance truth be told. There is no need trying to be sentimental atase. If anything the whole group is gone starting with Muzipasi Zimba,Chilufya Sata, that late Judge Muzyamba’s son now Castrol Chiluba.Let them rest

  35. Since Everyone is hell burnt on demonizing the guy i will take a different angle and this is to share what and how i remember Castrol. I was walking around nothmead shops with a friend then there came Castrol in Red truck suits Nikes and all “DRUNK” He approaches these women selling fruits on the corridors pulls out a bandle of menoy and say ” iwe wali munapo impiya ishinge so” then he goes round terrorizing everyone with his bodyguids. And that my friends is my memories of Castrol

  36. Oh sorry my his soul rest in peace i hope he is in a safe and better place may the Good lord have mercy on his soul and blessed those that he has left behind and give them stregnth

  37. if Castro was NGP’s role model of a youth, then i don’t know what kind of following this ka political party has. without knowing these guys i can safely say they are a classic example of the waste political opportunist scum to have ever appeared on the Zambian political scene. oh, isn’t this the same guys who was paid by RB just before the elections to publicly support him? Then its fare to say that Kafupi FTJ paid this punk to say something like that about his sorry excuse of a son.

  38. To be honest i feel bad the way people have been going on about Castrol He had his short comings and he certaily wasnt a saint and neither are we all so i beg people stop humiliating the dead. Its his time to rest our day will also come and no one knows what people will say about us when we have gone to meet our maker. MHSRIP no one is perfect and my memories of him are certaily not the best but to kick a dog while its down is not the way to go.

  39. Time has a way of demonstrating that the most stubborn are the most intelligent. The intelligent man finds almost everything ridiculous, the sensible man almost nothing. We do not have to visit a madhouse to find disordered minds; our planet is the mental institution of the universe,we even see it here on n LT,we are mad to certain degree and we both do unacceptable things in this world. Some of you people have killed through abortion and masturbation, yet castrol killed no one apart from injurying some.Let the dude rest in peace, and God alone to judge him,for all of us shall be judged one day.

  40. Ka Castro contributed to the down-fall of his Dads leadership and perhaps the NGP party. Otherwise Castro was just a drunken drugged out punk.

  41. RIP, All I remember are all the scandals and the lady he shot, whatever happened to her.

  42. It is bad to read through your comments people. I did not expect especially Zambians to write such dirty and insulting words over a dead person. I m scared about you people talking such bad things about a dead person. May God open up your spiritual eyes to see and not Judge fellow human like that.
