Patriotic Front Leader Michael Sata has threatened to sue Local Government Minister Ben Tetamashimba over an article entitled TETA “traces” stolen K10 Billion to PF.
Mr. Sata and his party have demanded a retraction and an apology for an article attributed to Mr. Tetamashimbe on the Zambia Watch Dog.
Mr. Tetamashimba has been given seven days in which to retract and apologize or face legal action for libel.
This is according to a letter written to Mr. Tetamashimba by Mr. Sata’s lawyers Ellis and Company.
According to the Watch Dog article, Mr. Tetamashimba alleged that Henry Kapoko, a civil servant linked to the K10 billion scam at the Ministry of health was Mr. Sata’s nephew.
Mr. Tetamashimba was quoted as claiming that Mr. Kapoko used part of the K10 billion he allegedly stole to finance the PF presidential campaign in 2008.
The Patriotic Front Leader in instructing his lawyers, denied being related to Mr. Kapoko or having received any funds for campaigns.

Isn’t it rather strange and disingenuous for Tetemashimba to allege today that Henry Kapoko, the civil servant linked to the K10 billion scam at the Ministry of health was Mr. Sata’s nephew and that he and the MMD were aware that that Mr. Kapoko used part of the K10 billion he allegedly stole to finance the PF presidential campaign in 2008? First of all, this kind of claim rings hollow, given that this is a government that claims to be waging a frontal war against corruption, and one would therefore think that common sense would dictate that this is one crime they would have pounced on right away; if only to win the election first!

Why can’t they just debate on issues that are affecting the people rather than bringing up baseless accusation. Whenever their government has failed the people of Zambia, they try to bring in other people, why can’t they just admit their mistakes and move on. Whether a relationship between Kapoto and Sata exists, should not be the issue. Teta has made some serious allegations that he needs to substantiate with evidence. Whatever, anyone’s opinion of Sata on this blog, the man has a right, as do many others, to demand that Teta apologize for providing false information or risk being sued. I call it false information because nobody, not even anyone on this blog, has provided any link of a money trail leading to PF’s failed presidential bid. Unless Teta can prove that link with hard core evidence, then he should definitely be taken to task.
Iwe # 93, you got it twisted, have you ever seen a defendant who proves himself innocent…it’s the other way round, the accuser should prove that the other person is guilty. So Teta should prove that Sata is guilty, and not Sata to prove that he is innocent.

You can only come to that conclusion (well that one and so many more) once you have provided hard evidence to show that Kapoko actually funded PF’s campaign. Perhaps you can show us some receipts from the PF treasurer that prove that Kapoko gave money to Sata. If you could do that or even provide anything to that effect, I will join you in providing my own theories about how Kapoko managed to fall into Sata’s trap.

It’s not a crime for Kapoko to be Sata’s nephew but if he used the proceeds of his alleged crime to finance Sata’s campaign and Sata knew it, then that’s a different ball game altogether. Mohamed Altoumaimi, who immigrated to Sweden six years ago, took only four months to find a formula that explains a sequence of calculations known as the Bernoulli numbers, a code that had stumped some of the best experts in the field, Agence France-Presse reported.
Altoumaimi said after his high school teachers were skeptical about his work he contacted professors at Uppsala University, one of Sweden’s top institutions, who confirmed his formula was correct and offered him a place at the university, AFP reported.
