Zambia moves up a place on FIFA rankings

Zambia moved up one place to third on the list of Confederation of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA ) nations in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Wednesday.

Chipolopolo have moved above 2006 FIFA World Cup campaigners Angola, who have slipped to 97th in the world, 28th in Africa and fourth on the list of COSAFA Nations.

South Africa maintain their lead at the top of regional teams (72nd in the world, 17th in Africa), followed by the ever-improving Mozambique (87th, 22nd).

The other big movers have been Zimbabwe, up five places to 101 in the world, 29th in Africa, and Botswana, also up five places to 118th on the global list and 33rd in Africa.

  2. Okey this is just good. Tell me the number Zambia National team is in the World and Africa. You have told su that it is number 3 on COSAFA Rankings

  3. LT please give us the positions in World/Black Continent of the Chipolopolo who are winning on Saturday. What is there position in Africa and the the World?

  4. …so what?without any significant cup(CHAN,Africa,COSAFA etc)….we want results not just mathematical movements on FIFA rankinkgs OR else STOP chewing taxpayer(OUR) money!and /or concetrate on other sport disciplines.Big up to Amon Simutowe!but look at how the dude has been neglected and despised…shame on you Ministry of Sport.mukonda chabe fya bola coz mumachekelana naba FAZ..shame

  5. The fact is we havent moved a place in the fifa rankings, we are still 96th. We’v just improved in cosafa coz of Angola’s dropping.

  7. The report is not telling it whole. Why rush to tell us about Angola and the other countries when report is silent on Zambia ‘s details. This report is hollow!

  9. I will wait for a revised article on the FIFA rankings ba Lusaka times. The heading and article content do not add up.
