Serenje PF officials welcome pact with UPND

Share

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two major opposition political parties, Patriotic Front (PF) and the United Party for National Development (UPND), has cheered PF officials in Serenje district.

The officials said the pact signed by the two political parties was long over due and hoped it would remain intact and serve its intended purpose.

PF District chairperson Martin Chikate said the move by the two parties had come at the right time because the agreement would be consolidated well before the 2011 general elections.

He said MMD should now be filled with fear because the parties were giants and would give the ruling party sleepless nights.

Another official, Mr. Lutamanya hoped the agreement would be respected by the two political parties to avoid what happened before.

And MMD youth District Chairmperson Frederic Chilongo said the pact was not a threat to MMD in the District because the two opposition political parties were weak.

Mr. Chilongo said whatever the two parties would do in Serenje, would not threaten the ruling party because it was firm on the ground and had a large membership.

“Well, they can come together but this is not a threat. They are children and they can not do anything. We shall continue to beat them in all the elections,” he said.

Others wondered whether the pact would be respected stating that PF president Michael Sata was known for belittling counterparts.

PF and UPND yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) whose main aim is to remove the MMD from power in the 2011 general elections.

  1. On your ““Well, they can come together but this is not a threat. They are children and they can not do anything. We shall continue to beat them in all the elections,” he said.” well said MMD cadre for the use of the word SHALL means this is not certain.

As for “Others wondered whether the pact would be respected stating that PF president Michael Sata was known for belittling counterparts” while this is TRUE, there is always room for improvement by the Undereducate Sata. Just give him good guidance and advice, he may yield and do a great job for Zambia by supporting the educated while he goes to night school.

The most interesting thing is that the UPND TEAM is composed of clever and well educated men and women who are ready to preserve Zambia…

  2. Otherwise, great stuff Serenje PF members for showing signs of maturity. Now, advise the Undereducate sata to let Given Lubinda work with president HH to liberate Zambia as president HH’s running mate in the 2011 elections, by Gpd’s grace.

  3. This tribal pact was concluded at 8 Reedbuck logde owned and operated by one tribalist with his Bemba wife. Their co principle is to out do RB’s government never mind how they combine dictatorship with tribalism thereafter. The modus operandi is to perpetuate the regional representation of the two parties according the geography seen in the last elections. What has not been taken into account is that their combined political importance has dwindles from 71% in 2001 to just about 59% in 2008. A see through post enhanced propaganda is the vehicle to achieve this. Watch the space. Zambians are not about to tolerate an evil union of two completely ideologically different parties.

  4. You foot soldiers of both PF/UPND pact , it is time you urged your leaders to spell out clearly the would be presidential candidate . This ,if done early will bring unity. In MMD there is talk of RB , as for you guys who would be your candidate? An electoral pact is not helpful if contentious issues are not resolved.

  5. Today is a wonderful day!!! reading this news makes it worth to read everything that will be published regarding this pact between the PF and UPND. this has been long overdue and I pray to God that this will be a success this time around. Our people have suffered enough, they can no longer continue living in porverty and luck of justice, were the countrys wealth seems to be meant for those in government and there families and friends and where the judicially is blind when it comes to prosecuting the well connected and the poor languish in filthy jails.
God bless this pact and may the Movement for Mad Dogs (MMD) get crushed.

  6. REFLECTIONS ON THE NEWEST ODD COUPLE

Someone told me that Sata and Hichilema are not able to sustain a marriage.

The next person agreed adding, “Not even a marriage of convenience.”

A third person stated that the best that Sata and Hichilema could have was a one night stand. A fourth person added, “Even if the two got into a one night stand; one of them would walk out in the middle of the night.”

  7. This pact is not going to work believe me….some of you have never carried out the assessment of this pact..The question is simple,,, who is going to be a president? Each of those candidate have disadvantages,,, so let us look at them one by one………….

    #

Sata will claim to have more MPs than HH, so he needs to be given the presidence,, which is true. On the other side HH may give up on that ground so that people of pact can trust him………..

HH can claim to young and energitic to lead the country for years to come.,…which is true…..HH has the required ecademics to be trusted to understand dynamcs of economics than sata.

Now who stand a chance….to win the elections….it abit difficult to know who can surely win the elections,,,,?

  8. Personally I have no problem with Sata becoming president because he makes more sensible decisions than Bwezani kumbuyo Banda. MMD is very corrupt and is not offering any direction to our country.

  9. SATA is out dated and shud pave a way for Given Lubinda if he is to see fruits in his Party. H.H to be Presdo n Given ..VP. come 2011…….

  10. All good,, the information comming is saying SATA told HH to take up president while sata will be vp. this is the reason said he is ready to talk with UPND,,,,,,

  11. Both share strong personality of tribalism. This is their only unifying attribute in this futile marriage of convenience .

  12. Sata is croud puller and so the 2011 elections for this pact will be a walkover. I would like to advise HH is to be humble and give the old man chance and then learn from him thereafter he can pick up the mantle. Its good for HH to be alone Sata and gain experience and exposure and later vy for the Presidence.

  13. BRILLIANT. THIS IS WHAT WE HVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. LET SATA BRING IN SOME DESCIPLINE IN THE COUNTRY LIKE HE DID IN THE CITY COUNCIL WHILE YOUNG POLITICIANS LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH INDESCIPLINE FROM HIM IN PREPARATION FOR THEM TO TAKE OVER. ITS A PITY ZAMBIANS ELECTED-IN A PERSON WHO FAILED TO DESCIPLINE HIMSELF DURING KK-WHO WAS SUCKED SEVERAL TIMES DURING HIS BROTHER’S REIGN. BYE, BYE MMD/UNIP, finally.

  14. I can predict that as a result of this pact, a sizable amount of supporters from the two parties (pf/upnd) will join MMD. Infact, this allaince is good for MMD for all reasons. I dont see how SATA could give up his huge appetite for power for HH. But then, if he does, good for our country, his doom would be final! But then, this he knows well and this pact for him is just a desperate attempt, after so many bolted, futile tries. SATA thinks he is so clever that HH cant see beyond his ovatures (sic). HH on the other hand, is leading himself down the spiral for diehard UPND loyalists will take this move as an inexcusable insult and injurious gesture. Just imagine how the people deep in monze will take this. Can HH wash clean the garments of a thief stained in innocent peoples blood?

  15. I can assure you that this pact is going nowhere,,,,,!!!! remember politics in zambia. The only way to bring in results for this so called pact is put HH president and sata VP,,,, I know some of you will not believe me, but it will help this pact alot…. If sata is the president he should forget about southern province in the elections…. If sata is the VP copperbelt will vote for HH and in some areas of luapula and northern province., if sata campaigns for him, but even if HH campaigns for sata in the southern province
he will not win….but lets wait and see now!!!.

  16. Kizito why should people in Northern and Luapula vote for HH and those in Southern not for Sata? And, please they have not merged but agreed to work together. I am very much against this idea of merging just to force MMD out. We have been here before and the last thing Zambia wants is another version of 1991. Yes UNIP is gone and, in reality, back, but have we seen any change?

  17. 3RqU,,,, It is saddening to read this message from you whom I believe you have a basic education since you leave in Uk. Sata lost last elections not that he did not have support but his support dried up….and canoe stopped…? I did not say they will support him as such,, but I said he will supported in some areas……..with the support of sata.. Sata is regarded as unprofessional old man….He does not have quality of being a leader…Just to remind you..in your small skull, you may have read a book in Titled revolution of WiMax technology for 21st century….Sata was in UK and reported in zambia that his passport was lost when in fact it was in his pocket jacket. how can a person lead zambia with such a record. he is old and very forgetful…..he is refusing to call for convetion.

  18. The other thing 3RqU,,, We believe people of northen and luapula are known to bring change.. there were been doing this since,,,independence of our country sata knows this so well. it will happen again becoz are very active people,,,,,,if they can decide something they can vote for it.. Based on analysis,,, it will suit HH well than sata… People of southern province are so difficult to understand and in which way the election will go…so these pact parties need a top up votes which they need to get from southern province,,that can happen with HH as president
Dear bother my analysis are based on my academic achivement,,,and you will accept they may be bound to errors….if sata insists to stand,,,,he will still achieve the votes he got times of his candidancy…..Rupiah will win…

  19. #23 Forget about academic achievement. The most important thing is to take power away from MMD and at the moment only Sata has support to do that. With assured support from UPND, MMD will not have a chance. People from southern province are not difficult to understand, it you who should change the way you perceive them. People of southern province move with their leaders if you did not know and these leaders must be saying sense. They know what they want in life and that is to have enough food on their tables.

  20. Kashimani;;;;; it is difficult for you to understand what you are saying,,,,I was just to give you an idea,, not that you have to follow….if you put sata,,, forget!!!!! these people from southern was supporting sata people since chiluba,,, now you want THEM to support this rotten teeth,,,,,,,,,,think before YOU say something,,,,it seems you DONT have brains charp,,,,,academics help you think what to say,, and not to,,SAY ..which is lacking in sata’ self proclaimed leadership. if you want HH to be VP. It will not work…. it is better for him to join MMD not sata……..a u in ukraine man!!!!! watch your longue!!!!! do not reply becoz you are not contributing to this space but putting dirty,,!!!!!!!

  21. Kizito you better think twice before you say I have no brains. Examine yourself first and apply your academic qualification to help you live well with others. Do not behave like people with academic qualfication but end up stealing govt resources. If you continue writing like that I will tell where to go. Who are you to tell me not to reply after insulting me? If you are drunk do not write rubbish about others? Whether you like it or not Sata will stand and will be supported by UPND. You may dislike him he has a big following. RB had 40.09%, Sata 38.13% and HH 19.70%. It will not be possible for MMD with Bwezani your uncle to win presidential elections. HH’s time will come, you are same people who do not vote for HH on tribal grounds. U did same to Mazoka. Engage your brains now.

  22. Kizito, Am shocked that a person who is the UK is able to insult like you did to me. You asked me where Iam. I am in the UK using AOL as my internet provider. If you are using BT and then have that UK flag, it makes you no better person and must stop questioning where others live. With improved security on internet you can be traced and be ashamed by the court of law here in the UK. This is warning for those who think when we are discussing here they can insult others freely. I am in the UK, then what next do you want to know?

  23. In fact KASHIMANI ,,,,,you are useless charp… this is a problem for uneducated charp…just the way u write can tell,, you have baisc education…. You do not need to go to court of law for advising you…. SATA will not rule zambia with HH…. He is using HH to get votes for southern province,,, HH should join MMD not this rotten teeth of yours….If you want lets met at towerhill to teach a lesson you kaponya…okay……You do not advise me about technology,, it is me to advise you kaponya..LOOK at your self,,, you are perthetic charp… who are to advise zambian to be ruled by this rotten teeth… SATA WILL not let HH to rule even after his term, remember kaponya of yours wanted third term,,,, we have nothing to DO with sata,, but MMD..

  24. What is special about you Kizito when you can not even spell the word chap correctly. You must learn to separate two issues of insulting me and that of politics. Your level of thinking is very shallow and it is not worthy exchanging words with a foolish person because at the end they will not know the difference. You could not realise that the court issue was about identifying and prosecute you for insulting me.

  25. This rotten teeth should go for night school… how can we be ruled by uneducated president like sata,,, are you mad charps…. Let banda rule for another term and constitution that bar uneducated person like sata,,,,This pact will not have a presidential candidate in 2011 becoz sata will be disqualified… how can he mount for prsident instead of doing night school classes…. thanks see you tomorow…
