FORMER Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Development Lameck Chibombamilimo has backed calls for the MMD to adopt President Banda as its presidential candidate for the 2011 elections.

Mr Chibombamilimo said it is logical and easy to sell a candidate who is already in office.

He was speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday.

“It is easy to sell a candidate who is already in office than a new one who may not even have a record that you can use to the electorate,” Mr Chibombamilimo said.

He said although he may have differences with some individuals in the MMD, the interest of the party overrides anything else.

Mr Chibombamilimo, who is Mpulungu member of Parliament, said it is common practice in many political systems to support an incumbent in the ruling party who has prospects for another presidential term.

“Let me hasten to add that this opinion is informed by the fact that while I may have differences with some individual members of the party, the interest of the MMD overrides anything else,” he said.

Mr Chibombamilimo said it will be risky and costly for the party to begin looking for a new candidate even when the opposition seems set to field the same candidates they have had in the past two or three elections.

On the pact between Patriotic Front and United Party for National Development, Mr Chibombamilimo said MMD was also born out of the same initiative.

He, however, said he would not know whether the new pact has the same goals as those of the MMD.

“MMD was born out of the same initiative prior to the 1991 elections. But whether this formula will result in the intended goal this time around is another matter,” he said.

On the corruption scandal at the Ministry of Health, Mr Chibombamilimo commended President Banda for his commitment to ensure that those involved in the scandal face the law.

He said President Banda should facilitate the exposure of corrupt individuals so that they do not benefit from the ill-gotten wealth.

  1. Another one of the boot lickers. Shame on you. Your name does not even go with the things you are potraying. Its even better to lick your own boots than those of the one who sucked you like a d@g. I used to think that you had brains but now I realise that you are just one of those who are always picked from nowhere. It looks like you still want your old job back because without it, you can’t do nothing on your own.

  2. I think he is right. Who else other than RB can one vote for from the candidates we have got at the moment? Viva MMD, Viva RB! Roll on 2011 and 2016!

  3. hunger is creeping in slowly but sure, this ka man you cant know what he stands for in life.no principles to exhibit.

  4. Thats when you can see that Zambian politics is useless, coz just the other day this guy was in magande’s camp. Has he got principals? I dont think so.

  5. Learn to stand on your principles sir. Your turn has gone let others rule us. Zambia is not short of leaders. That day you disappointed RB now you are disappointing Magande. How many people are you going to disappoint in a year.

  6. I thought Ba RB said he won’t go for the second term, why is he quiet.Power is sweet bane.Zuma also broke the promise last week.

  7. Mwachuleni ba Chibombamilimo. So wahats changed/ You said Maurine was the best, but 2day yousay RB whichis which?

  8. Matworld, i have no apologies to make over that one. a man must learn to be principled. Just yesterday, he was singing the ‘Maureen’ tune. Today, because he is out of the job, no flag pa motoka, ati, “RB is the best candidate”! Bupuba mudala.

  9. Ba Chibombamilimo mwalipwa. He is just scared of being kicked out of MMD. You must be a BIG FULL to be a politician.

  10. Chibombamilimo, no wonder you are still a low life. How can you go back to a person who ranted so much about you joining the Post? Why don’t you just write a letter of apology to him directly like Dr Miti and stop hedging around like a coward? Everyone has now known that kamambala nomba ulechula. Atase! You have no morals.

  11. Zoe, i can guarantee you that i can’t be banned. Am expressing an honest opinion here. ..limbi niba bululu bobe? Landa bwino, ka. He must learn to have morals and a little bit of self respect mwe bantu.

  12. Ba Moze no worry after all ni freedom of speech.Good day mudala wandi join you leter naya mutauni mukulwishisha umunadi visa.Good day fellow Zedians

  13. Dr S. Miti says monies were stolen(K10b) by his juniors while he was busy working on the health of LPM in his letter to RBB. Can a sane person believe such? If it was so then this country is on auto pilot. Am afraid of the situation.

  14. Moze, careful am ery much from Eastern and far from being Chibomba fimofimos relation. The man indeed has no morals…Maybe its dnt insult the hand tht feeds u lol…Isnt it RB who said he wil follow them 2their constituencies and decampaign them, kwena bupuba at its level best…Thumps up 2Shakas Kraal…Hes busy decampaigning RB in Katuba ba Chibomba busy bootlicking. Will Zed develop wth such lunatics?

  15. Chibombamilimo your name has been changed to CHIBOMBACHIPUBA with imediate effect. Bloggers chibombachipuba is a farm for a Bemba chief were ifipuba work as punishment.
This is what this guy is. He does not respect himself….why cany you find something to do than always going back to someone who spat at you?? awe bane bwafya sana !!!

  16. Very unbiased oppinion by Chibombamilimo. The man iz just speaking realistically, and under the circumstances, he haz a point. To say he iz backing RB for 2011 is debatable; isn’t he merely outlining the realistic advantagez of the incumbancy?

  17. I am looking forward to having the issue of RB contesting the 2016 elections because 2011 is already gone. Viva RB

  18. Deja Vu,u mean where Dr.Miti was jus pointing out tht i lost my mother,my brother? We hav all pass thru losses, such is life.Does he have to notify the Presido.Ati i met yo mother b4 she died:So what?Kwena tht ws irrelevant. If hes innocent why not wait for the courts to prove it than seeking sympathy b4 been prosecuted….Am the breadwinner shanishani uko kwati tasambilila mudala letter atumina bakateka

  19. How are you Ba Moze. Ba Jobless chibombamilimo is looking for a job am sure ka life nakashupa bad. just face it and stop embarrassing yourself, don’t you people have pride? just look at yourself.

  20. Zambian politics yaba, theres is no other way to come back to almighty RB but through grovelling. Shakafuswa is still gathering courage to go to the media to be baptized in the pool of vipuba. Insala

  21. Great stuff MP Chibombamilimo, continue doing the work sir. I fully support all your statements above.

On your “MMD was born out of the same initiative prior to the 1991 elections. But whether this formula will result in the intended goal this time around is another matter,” he said, let dissatisfied MMD members rush to join the PACT in 2011 when the National Assembly will be dissolved just like things happened when UNIP lost some members to MMD in 1991. This is why President RB Banda must be supported to stand as MMD president and presidential candidate in the 2011 National elections so that their should be a mass exodus from MMD to the strongthened UPND party when the Undereducate MC Sata may also become a UPND cadre.

  22. Chibomba you are a free man to say whatever you want. You are right we need to give RB time. I only hope he contests in 2016 again. You do not need desperate people like the one I have seen here saying all sorts about you simply because they want their HH to win. UPND will die just like PF when their HH loses in 2011. The boy will be broke and I doubt he would want to go through it again in 2016. MMD!

  23. did someone expect something different from people like chibomba??? zambia will have problems to develop until we get leaders with hearts for national development and not for personal gain……we also too much recycled politicians……

  24. An appeal to RB is that Chibombamilimo has nothing to offer to his government and Zambian politics.May his soul rest in eternal pieces.

  25. #40 Satelite etc. Please show respect to Mr Sata. If this is the way you look at people then Upnd leadership is not national. Remember when votes are cast you dont say ” no I dont want votes from the undera—I only want votes cast by degree holders.” Respect every body and you will be rest assured that HH may just make it as leader of UNITED PATRIOTIC FRONT FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

  26. When are these people gonna start having even just a drop of integrity. This kid was recently supporting Maureen now hes back to supoorting RB? So shameless.
Same behaviour like Chi Teta. Cant someone put a gun to their ba**s and pull the triger please?

  27. i remember derek chitala being fired by levi mwanawasa over his(derek) expressed position over the african union which mwanawasa said was contrary to govt position.i also remember mwanawasa saying chibombachipuba had rights on his view of leadership when chibomba said maureen was the best presidential material.how ironical.on one hand he fired someone for his views which he (derek)expressed as an individual and on the other hand he says chibomba is justified to say what he thinks and says (not government position), despite chibombachipuba also being a minister at that time.if it is praise it is fine and if it is criticism you are fired.chibomba has realised this maybe only a little later.viva underdevelopment.

  28. Fellow bloggers, have you read today’s Post on Dr. Miti? The man is desperate to keep his job at science nad technology. I end here mayo

  29. it was only yesterday when he was talking of what he claimed to have spent his personal money during the campangein , monies meant for his school going children what type of this parent plse he is trying to win back the lost job, he is very useless he is a danger to society.

  30. 47 Deja Vu, greetings. Following your bad analysis “If this is the way you look at people then Upnd leadership is not national“, I am not a UPND member. If you don’t believe me, go to the UPND secretariat in Rhodes Park, Lusaka, and inquire from them about me.

Here is who I am; I am a single entity SDA Zambian, Tonga by Tribe from both Tonga tribe parents. On LT or indeed anyother blog, I do not represent a view or standpoint of the SDA Church, the Zambian people or Tonga Tribe people in their full respects. Everything I write is directly linked to me alone and not even my family members based on my educated knowledge obtained from various sources including the Holy Bible.

Therefore, your “Respect every body and you will be rest assured that HH may just make it…

  31. 54 continued.

47 Therefore, your “Respect every body and you will be rest assured that HH may just make it as leader of UNITED PATRIOTIC FRONT FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT” is ill written, for I do not represent president HH or the UPND. The earlier you appreciate this fact the better it will be for you.

Have a blessed day and keep well.

  32. Chobombamilimo is at is. He must just get his job back , he gives a bad name to politics. But on the the other hand maybe , he is the stuff leaders are made of

  33. shame what adoption.DO not mislead RB and people of zambia.Let RB work for the country and prove his sword.Stop heroe worshping and contribute positively to the country development.when RB scores positively his good works will campaign enough for himself and will not need money or people like you to sale his candidature.ZAMBIANS do not be cheated by political failures.LET RB settle down and work, its too early to talk about voting, just yesterday we were voting and now you want to vote.ITS UNETHICAL in democracy, are you a job seeker.SHAME ON YOU.DO YOU REALLY HAVE A HEART FOR POOR ZAMBIANS?

  34. Chibombamilimo, why are you doing this? If you cannot do it by yourself, why not go back to your career as music teacher? You see, when everyone of you were rushing for MMD jobs and forgot about the future, I decided to ask for a scholarship. Soon I will be finishing my PhD and be as independent as one can be. Ha ha ha ha ha. I will never knee down for anyone, but by students and my paper. God bless my foresight.

  35. #55 Space. Morn” All the same have a feeling for other people. Sata’s path was mapped by the same God that you worship. Without attaining very high education he has done comparatively very well in life that’s without any doubt. You my friend education is important but should not be a hinderance to an individuals aspirations. We have seen some(What you call undereducate)people like Winston Churchill leave indelible marks in the world inspite their humble education. My former workmate who had done alot better than me (he had a masters)in education never made it above me career wise because he could not relate theory to the industry that we were engaged in. He went for PHD but sadly he died due to excessive beer drinking. So you see inspite of being OVEREDUCATE the guy failed to advance.

  36. 60 Deja Vu greetings. On your #55 Space. Morn” All the same have a feeling for other people. Sata’s path was mapped by the same God that you worship” the earlier you realise that you can not control me the better for you. I appreciate all humans and other Creatures God made in their full respects and so, there is nothing worng calling a “sapde a spade“. So this is the last time, I am responding to your useless comments linking me to UPND’s votes or president HH’s.

President B. Obama is busy asking mothers to go (back) to school and I am here asking the Undereducate Sata to do the same as great image builders.

Have a blessed day you all and take careful care always.

  37. Mr. Chibombamillimo, i wish you all the best in 2011 with your Rupiar! You will certainly not get my vote! I am not interested in your Limo hearses!

  38. Naiwe ka Kawambwa Dude! Has the MMD done anything for you particularly under Mr. Bwezani? Or its the K27 billion you want to be part of? Are you truelly residing in Kawambwa? This implies there is lack of proper information discemination, we will visit your area soon for information update on current affairs!

  39. Ba Hhehhehhe, you seem to have run away from the school of civilisation at premature stage! What has a degree got to do with good leadership of the people and economic development? In the land of the educated like the US you referred to, dont you think they would say the president must be a professor? Do you know that even the degree you are flashing about is based on ideas of people who never even set foot in a school like Isaac Newton! You do not even have a quarter of his ideas! Spare us your wrong thoughts!

  40. #61 HEHEHE. Am very disappointed that a man who claims to be educated and God fearing can fail to engange in a balanced discussion but chooses to use uncivil language as to call me useless. Have I ever insulted you ever since we met on LT. I love to share ideas even from street children/adults. Ok its the last time I ever comment on any thing from you for I see alot of disrespect and too much ambivalency on your part. I hope you are real and not just a cumputor which has been set up by some mad genius to respond insolently. IDONT WISH YOU A GOOD DAY FOR AM VERY UPSET.

  41. Ma Hehehehe takwata amaano forgive him for his useless contribution and tribal comments. He is uncivilized. He actually embarrasses his tribe. In this era an educated person would not behave like him. Bloggers try to ignore him.

  42. 64 Tshombe greetings. Your “Do you know that even the degree you are flashing about is based on ideas of people who never even set foot in a school like Isaac Newton! You do not even have a quarter of his ideas! Spare us your wrong thoughts!” is very misplaced as I have more data in my heead that Isaac Newton ever knew. If you do not believe me just check out an undergraduate Phyiscs programme and ask any lecturer or research about it compared to the physics Newton knew in his time.

Otherwise, spare yourself readingmy material instead of trying to control me.

  43. 64Deja Vu, your “DAm very disappointed that a man who claims to be educated and God fearing can fail to engange in a balanced discussion but chooses to use uncivil language as to call me useless” is funny as I NEVER CALLED YOU USELESS, but your ideas as indicated clearly in “o this is the last time, I am responding to your useless comments linking me to UPND’s votes or president HH’s” and so, it is very sad that your English Language is this bad. No wonder you failed to get a simple message that I do not represent you or anyone’s thoughts on blogs but my own based on my knowledge. As for “I hope you are real and not just a cumputor which has been set up by some mad genius to respond insolently. IDONT WISH YOU A GOOD DAY FOR AM VERY UPSET“, such is…

  44. 68 continued.
… such (insult writing) is always expected to characters that fail to reason.

66The Jackal greetings, this your “Ma Hehehehe takwata amaano forgive him for his useless contribution and tribal comments. He is uncivilized. He actually embarrasses his tribe. In this era an educated person would not behave like him. Bloggers try to ignore him.” opinion and advice is wlecome for that is what it is: AN APINION for a failure who can not compete.

    Have a nice day.

  45. #69 Now I believe you are a MORON. Keep your tribalism to yourself for am above that. Is English your mother language to pride yourself in, you MORON. Dont bother to respond.

  46. 70 Deja Vu, well, well, well. Your #69 Now I believe you are a MORON. Keep your tribalism to yourself for am above that. Is English your mother language to pride yourself in, you MORON. ” just proves what I wrote above that insults are always expected from failures to reason and have a decent discussion like you are blogging.

This indicates that you are terribly emotional over something you have no direct or indirect control. Thanks for being my cadre anway and take care.

  47. Ma Hehehe are you really a normal chap or you just write under some influence of something? You are really unbelievable. Try to be mature in your blogging and please show us that you are educated by writing reasonable things other than exposing that kind of behavior and attitude towards others. It sucks to see a fellow Zambian who claims to be educated to be so tribal like you. Shame on you wherever you are!

  48. 72 The Jackal, kindly mind your own business for whoever attacks me ignorantly, I expose his/her failure to reason.

Later, when you write sense for their is no proof in your terrible analysis “It sucks to see a fellow Zambian who claims to be educated to be so tribal like you” as I ask you to get a Dictionary and check the meaning of the word TRIBAL.

    __
    Prevention is beter than cure.

  49. Talking about tribalism: Did you know that in the 18 years of the reintroduction of multiparty politics in Zambia, there is no evidence that the north (Luapula and Northern) voted for a party with someone else other than their own at the helm? Immediately Chiluba vacated, they started looking for the next party with a kinsman at the helm. Mark my word! when Sata eventually leaves PF for someoen else who speaks a different language (if that will happen)etc, observe what will happen. Yet, the northerners are very tactical the way they go about this tribalism. They have a very good PR about it by (among other things) remind us that they are not tribal and point at others. What people rarely observe are their actions. ..

  50. By the way, I am also Northerner. When the southerners were overwhelmingly voting UPND, the Northerners were the first to shout “tribalists!”. Today, just look around you, before you argue, look around your relatives, friends, churchmates, schoolmates, neighbours etc and find how many northerners do not support PF? I can guarantee you, it is very HARD! But this time around, it is NOT TRIBAL. Lets be serious country men and women. We will destroy our country

  51. You mean this Chibombamilimo guy is still alive? And he’s a member of Parliament? He actuallys sits in the House? What kind of debate does he engage in? This guy is a Kamalondo-Bulawayo-Sata-Mwanga-Shikapwasha-Mangani-Mlongoti in one. Was he elected, or nomonated? I guess the latter. God bless Zambia. We’ll be living in the 17th Century while the rest of the world is making a dash for the 22nd Century. Death to the enemies of the nation!! All of them, and without exception. How can any man – any man, at all – worth his salt, support a docile, ignoramus like Rupiah for President? Next, he’ll be supporting his fellow zealot, Sata, should Sata ever – and God forbid – became President. Zadians, wake up. Please!

  52. As a Barotse lander, I understand what it is to be discriminated against. We are the Jews of Zed, speaking a dialect of Sesotho. Kafupi achieved his Hitlerite dream of “it pays to be Bemba.” We Barotselanders were the only ones who voted for Dean Mung’omba’s ZADECOy into Parliament – Nalolo Constituency, and Luena – and yet we had a Barotse prince – Aka – contesting the presidency. And yet, speaking Sikololo is still a crime in Zed. Come on, we all came from the Congo, guys. Let’s unite and kick these fools out of power and build us a One Zambia, One Natuion to be truly proud of. And let’s start singing the National Anthem again. Bembas, Barostelanders, Ngonis, Tongas, Lundas, etc, we’re all brothers under the sun. We all hail from the Lunda-Lunda Empire of not so long ago.
