A renowned Pastor in Kasama yesterday appeared in the Magistrate Court for allegedly causing death by dangerous driving.

Before Magistrate, Dominic Makalicha, was Breaking-the-Curse Ministries Bishop, Steven Kabonka, 46, of house number 3913 Central Town in Kasama charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving contrary to the law.

Particulars of the offense are that on July 18, this year, Bishop Kabonka caused the death of, Arnold Simwanza, 31 of Chisanga Village, while driving a Toyota Conquest registration number B262 AJK along Lunzuwa road in Kasama.

Magistrate Makalicha told a packed courtroom that the accused will take plea in the High Court.

He however, granted Bishop Kabonka a K500, 000 cash bail with two working sureties.

The matter has since adjourned to August 6, for mention.

The deceased died on Sunday at Kasama General Hospital due to injuries allegedly sustained in the road accident.

The accident occurred along Lunzuwa road when Bishop Kabonka’s car hit the deceased while he was trying to help a woman who had difficulties with her bicycle on the roadside.

Meanwhile, the body of Simwanza has since been buried.

The problem is 99% of Zambian drivers don’t even know the maximum speed in built up areas and no one bothers to tell then. So mate, the charge says ‘ dangerous driving’ meaning he was speeding or the man of God was under the influence….

  2. The roads in that village are too narrow to have cars and people share, one way.Sorry atleast one life is lost MHSRIP.

  3. Most Zambian roads have no road signs or speed limits. Even when present, they are barely visible due to the effect of wear and tear arising from rusty billboards. They’re rarely re-engraved.

While trying to help someone you end up killing……….how unfortunate
    It was a accident MHSRIP

  5. Misango ya ba pastor! Mwaona manje mwapaya munthu. The deseased was at the roadside, so the pastor was driving weavi-weavy!

  6. #7 & 8 Livingstone, I find your comments very distasteful and heartless. How can you say that at least one life is lost, did you want more to die in that accident? The other thing is that if you are a christian you must know that it is blasphemy to suggest that the pastor was under the influence of the holy spirit. That was an accident it could happen to anyone including yourself.

  7. The problem with rural pedestrians is they have no respect or fear of cars. They fear rains more than they do cars. They think “the driver cannot bash me” or ” the driver will make way he has seen me”. But you cannot put your life in the hands of another person whose state of mind you do not even know. Its a shame live are being lost unnecessaryily. When you see a car give way you, and preserve your own life.
For the bishop it was an accident and no malice was intended.

Caution carefull with your atterances. They may mean life and death. The Bible says blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this life or even the next. If God cant forgive you who will. Dont damn yourself over non issues. Pray you havent crossed the line.

  9. LT…Who was helping the woman ? The deceased or the bishop ? Ichisungu muchinje…this is no joking matter but you remind me of a joke in crazy drums ” It went…This is the man with one leg whos name is John !”

So how do you reconcile that with the scripture that says ‘ tho your sins may be as red as scarlet, if you confess they shall be as white as snow ‘. Am not taking a piss at you, i have heard that before but not read the text.

  11. LT naiwe ati ‘Bishop Kabonka’s car hit the deceased while he was trying to help a woman who had difficulties with her bicycle on the roadside’ just wandering what kind of help this was? why wasn’t the woman also hit???? just checking

  12. Talk about ironic! I feel sorry for the poor gent who was surely trying to help one in need.. Im not pointing fingers, but that pastor seems to have some bad karma..

  13. God said we shall die and he didn’t tell us how we shall die. Some its thru guns, remember guns were made for killing men, others its thru sickness, witchcraft, water, fire etc, its life! bishop don’t worry time came for him to die. MHSRIP

I hope you have a chance to see this again. To answer your question with my limited knoledge.
Yes God is able to forgive all sin how ever dark and deep and vile, BUT the bibles stated explicitly clearly that there is a sin He will never forgive of blasphemy of the holy spirit. That why people should be careful. Its gong to far, you do not play with God. He is to be revered. One cn blasphem against Jesus christ and be forgven not the Holy Spirit
