City Make Continental Dreams

While the race for the number 1 spot heats up, City of Lusaka are dreaming of playing in Africa next season.

4th placed City are on 39 points, six behind 3rd placed Power Dynamos with six matches left to play.

Coach Happy Sichikolo said he was focused on keeping city’s audacious dream alive to play African club competition for the first time.

“We want to win every remaining game. The people of Chilenje want their team to play continental football next year,” Sichikolo said after his side beat struggling Green Buffaloes 2-1 last Sunday in Lusaka.

In their ambitious bid to finish second, City host Forest who are in 7th place with 37 points this Saturday at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka hoping to win and stay in touch with the top four.

However, their quest is not helped with on-fire and 3rd placed Power Dynamos who are unbeaten in their last 9 league games since early August.

Power, who host Konkola Blades in Kitwe, are on 45 points coming into this match and are just five points behind 2nd placed Zanaco.

Meanwhile, the race for top spot is very close with six games left to play.

Only a point separates leaders Zesco United and Zanaco on 51 and 50 points.

Zesco are home where they host Roan United while Zanaco travel to Mazabuka to visit Nakambala Leopards.

  1. I’d rather City manage to play in continental football for a change. The people who represent us disaapoint us all the time so i’d rather give the change to a new dissappointer!!

  2. hey city of Lusaka is close to being the heart of Lusaka football so it would be good to see some continental football at woodlands stadium.
