MMD Hails PF-UPND election victory

Share

The ruling MMD has congratulated the Patriotic Front -UPND pact for winning the KASAMA Parliamentary by-election.

MMD National Secretary KATELE KALUMBA however, said the PF UPND pact’s victory in KASAMA will be short lived because the ruling party will capture the seat in 2011.

Dr KALUMBA, in an interview with ZNBC, accused the PF-UPND pact of having capitalised on falsehoods to get the KASAMA central seat.
[
But PF-UPND co-spokesperson, CHARLES KAKOMA said the victory in the KASAMA by-election has boosted morale in the pact.

And All Peoples Congress leader, KEN NGONDO said his party put up a spirited fight despite the defeat.

Mr NGONDO congratulated the UPND-PF pact for scooping the seat.

  1. RB your close ties to FJT will cost you dearly, You will be presido with shortest history because you missread the mood of the nation regarding the arc-thief chiluba. You pulled him from the punishment he deserves and embraced him, he in turn started making foolish statements, moking the nation and the corruption fight. Good for you.

  2. RB-we tought you a lesson. The poeple of Kasama have emphatically rejected you and your empty promises. You dont stand for anything other than corruption. You probably under rated our resolve .I salute you my people of Kasama .I admire you courage and determination .Solwezi, here we come.We must tell RB and his incomeptent governmnet that the hour has come for him and MMD to go.Long live Hakainde and long live MC Sata-true sons of Zambia. The PACT is here to liberate Zambia.I urge my brothers and sisters in Solwezi to move with the rest of the nation in putting MMD to rest .They are tired.batusheko, twanaka !!!!!

  3. Katele, keep quite for once. You know deep down your heart(if you have one) that MMD’s time to pack has come. The PACT will inflict serious pains on you in 2011.Be on the write side of things .Be with the people and not with the enemy .Viva PACT 2011

  4. Can’t you get it Katele?? The people are telling you and your defunct party that , very soon your time is up. Start thinking of where to run to because Zambia will come looking for you and your friend Chiluba. Viva the Pact.

  5. Sorry RB, the people of Kasama don’t speak STUPID. Try to communicate in that language in Chipata, they may be able to speak and under stand STUPID there. GBM said he would have the last laugh when you compared him to a bag of mealie meal, but nobody thought his laughter would be heard so loudly and throughout the land like that!!!. Nobody could have believed that GBM would have more political sense than a president who lowers himself in that manner!! Now go back to Lusaka all of you a.s.s-lickers Mutati and Simbao and lick your wounds with your tails between your legs. And take your Mugala with you. And don’t forget Chitimukulu too!

  6. Simplistic thinking is very dangerous and may not realize us any dream. I believe in self criticism and refuse to share cosmetic fanfare when logical analysis validates otherwise a negative regression of outcome. We cannot pretend that as a coalition of major opposition parties defending the seat, our performance in these by-elections have been nothing but failure. We have plundered a Golden opportunity of putting up an impressionistic posture.

Kasama is a 29,000 voters constituency a margin which the 2006 race managed to pull up. But here we are retaining our seat with merger 10K votes in the race we campaigned as an amalgamation of two major players is not a safe outcome. Remember nothing is binding in this alliance. The future is very brick unless you are limited in how political…

  7. Remember nothing is binding in this alliance. The future is very brick unless you are limited in how political amalgamation works which all missing in this case. Internal fireworks have not yet started haunting us which i must confess are definitely in the pressure cooker yet to burn many fingers immediately the issue of leadership is tabled.

  8. The collective effort should have retained the seat with a runaway margin and certain 6k difference.GBM is from the loyal family of Chief Mwamba and his campaign was Kasama tribal centrism meaning that he should have tapped in the 29,000 significantly. Don’t tell me over 14,000 voters have died or migrated out of Kasama within the last 3 years. That is a myth you have to explain. If we were a magnetizing force, why didn’t the stamp pull out enthusiastic citizenry to turn up in masses for their own son? Why the dismal performance?

  9. Remember we were against one MMD that did a dismal ending hardly 3 years ago in the same constituency .Do your percentiles with a regression analysis and debate me if this is dismal retention is indeed a good thing for the PACT and why you think so. Look at Southern province where Mazoka never lost and Levy Mwanawasa’s MMD was tailgating with below 50 votes in any constituency and ward election, today our PACT enters into LOT ending. Pull all results in recent months you will see that UPND is in troubled waters it’s been invaded and a solution need to be found before they are swallowed. And Should HH give in to Ba Sata, you can bet me, we will have forfeited Southern province to MMD. Than Livingston young lawyer and MMD provisional party Chairman Mr Muzyamba is a maverick consolidating…

  10. I stand to be debate on my argument that we are in troubled waters than safe territories. Despite retention in kasama, we have lamentably failed to create momentum out of kasama. Should we fail to stop MMD from retaining their Solwezi seat which I don’t see happening, problems will start in the PACT which a boiling volcano with overflowing lava.

  11. We need more and better strategies with a clear power structure than what is at hand. What we have has turned off a lot of people who value their time. There is a lot of uncertainity and disinterest among Zambians who have instead opted for apathy.

  12. guys hear me MMD will never leave that power. come 2011 MMd will win again. hunger is the best weapon MMD use when when getting votes. unless the people are knowledgeable, MMD will not win. but this i can assure you, yes, MMD will surfer loss but rigging will be done to make sure that they get it again. they will not lose it just on silver plate. what will happen is kenya and zimbabwe. Learn this from me no African leader can give power easily not Rupiah Banda.

  13. well, it seems as if the people of zambia are realizing that mmd is nothing but sh888888t and make the country very undeveloping. however, this is a good chance for opposition to the advantage of the people by truely campaning than before. start to show them how good you can make the country be and tell them that if they get to power it will be more than whatthey have seen. congrats upnd. rb start to organize your companion to leave the country coz these are coming for the wrong you have done to the country.

  14. KENNY NGONDO FOR CRYING OUT LOUD QUIT THE POLITICS GAME,SAME1 PUT THIS MAN IN HIS PLACE,HW CN APC GET 40 WHEN PF IS GETTING 10000

  15. Ba Cook, in nsala? Where did you ever hear a 67% by election turn out? why do you people so choose to act ignorant of how elections in third world countries are conducted? The turn out in Kasama is more than the national average even during regular elections – your so called tripartite elections. To reach 50% in an election is a huge undertaking not even developed nations have endeavored or dared to reach during small or by elections. The 55% beating of MMD is enough to cause celebration despite some of you people ranting about the Pact not reaching 20000. If the Pact took 20000, how many do you expect the other parties would have got? Were you expecting 100% turnout just because it is the PF-UPND strong hold area? Give us a place where saw 100% turnout? Dream on brother.

  16. Is it true VJ (Master Rigger) went to China(supplier of GRZ printing machines) with town clerks (Returning Officers) from the major towns recently? Now the ballot papers will be printed by the Government Printers. I smell a rat.

  17. This is how it should be to accept defeat. On this one Katele has scored B+. Lets stop name calling and unite the pipo as one and forge ahead. We are yet to see GMB concetrating on developmental issues in Kasama Central as well as running his business in Lusaka. Well done PF-UPND Pact for delivering Kasama Central to GBM.

  18. Thankyou HH for the wise words of encouragement we are behind the pact let not you people from namwala let you down, thankyou to katele but he should know that his party is collapsing because of Banda.

  19. there were alot of fights between MMD and PF in prevent rigging that was spotted in many areas . And because this many people opted not to vote as they were avoiding violence. PF has managed to prevent the rigging of votes . several vehicles were smashed by PF supporter. MMD is not popular anywhere but makes use of rigging so Solwezi be vigilant like Kasama did.

  20. I only hope victory in kasama won’t bring problems in the pact as in who should stand as president in 2011. coz I see both sata and hh vying for that position although I don’t see sata giving it away. it will be ineresting to see whether HH will accept to be vice president. otherwise that will be the end of the pact and that will give mmd victory.
