Chizyuka refuses to recognise expulsion

Share

Expelled United Party for National Development (UPND) Namwala Member of Parliament Robbie Chizyuka says he does not recognise his expulsion from his party for alleged gross indiscipline.

Major Chizyuka said in a statement to ZANIS last evening that the action by UPND national executive committee to expel him is in defiance of the court injunction in the Lusaka High court.

” Mr Hakainde Hichilema is aware that on 21st November, 2009 Lusaka high court judge Musonda will hear my application for an
injunction to restrain the UPND and Mr. Hichilema from suspending me, ” said Major Chizyuka.

He explained that Mr Hichilema’s defiant action against the injunction, it was time Zambians looked closely and wisely into the
mirror image of Mr. Hichilema whom he labeled as a ” new dictator.”[quote]

With reference to UPND’s allegation that he failed to exculpate himself, within the seven days period, Major Chizyuka said to-date he has not received the suspension letter which stipulated the charges requiring his response.

The embattled MP urged UPND to be honest to the public to show when he received that the expulsion letter, who gave him the letter and where he signed for receipt.

He said as far he was concerned, he was just learning it in the media on Sunday 4th October, 2009.

” I was in my constituency attending the Shimunenga ceremony when this entire saga was unfolding as news.
Upon reading my suspension in the Post Newspaper, and realizing that I was not given a hearing let alone a warning on the alleged misconduct, I realized that the party was up to some hidden, malicious and already predetermined actions against me,” he said.

Furthermore, Major Chizyuka has challenged the expulsion saying he cannot exculpate himself before the injunction is cleared in court.

  1. Kosa fye tata, you were so loud mouthed before the expulsion saga now i bet you have delved into troubled waters and your lifeline is under threat. if you are that famous in your constituency, you allow the expulsion, go for bye elections on any ticket other than UPND and let us hear the election results fulu stop

  2. So what the letter went missing? Or maybe we blame it on Zampost..should have gotten lost in the post office! Even in a company when one starts antagonising the CEO and wants to behave like he is CEO one will be let loose to go and somewhere where he can be leader. Him and Mpombo have no respect for leadership hence the door is the route. Stand as an independent so that you will be Your own Boss!!

  3. This guy will never ever be MP again, if he is popular why can’t he dare a by-election? No party can defeat UPND in Namwala. Even Saki and Mulenga you can win Chizhuka once they are adopted on UPND ticket. This Chizhuka participated when they were calls for a pact with PF, it took a long time to exhaust party dialogue, why didn’t he lobby against this idea? Be democratic lost son Chizhuka. Repent and we may reverse the expulsion!

  4. Ba Chizyuka if you are popular just accept the expulsion and go for a bye election. Don’t even waste your time in court cause Zed lawyers will give you a K700,000,000 bill and that will be your end. All your gratuity will go to the lawyers. Stop been silly and act like an adult.

  5. The lawlessness of Hichilema is beyond sober reproach. One wonders where it will all end him to if he doesn’t reframe himself from his Godfather’s Sata’s thuggery playbook. I will not be shocked if in defense of Mazoka’s core values, true UPND members resisting his wholesaling of the party to PF thuggery, end up “Penzalizing him”. The chap is in thuggery overdrive in his assignment to completely destroy UPND.

  6. This is what we are say that HH’s thuggery will eat him.He imported PF thugs from Lusaka and the Copperbelt to launch a violent campagn in Solwezi. If someone does not pump wisdom in HH, we should not get petrified should he get purged.Violence begets violence and most of those Boma chaps benda nefyanso muma mumisana and car compartments.

“Mr Kakoma accused police of directing canisters at Mr Hichilema and said he would seek audience with Mr Katiba”.MMD campaign manager Kabinga Pande said the ruling party which had not imported people for the nominations, was determined to retain the seat left vacant by late Benny Tetamashimba.
Mr Pande called for clean and peaceful campaigns.

  7. Mojo, this got nothing to do with HH,the guy is plain arrogant,he was the one slapping delegates at the UPND convetion,if you aint cool with the leadership in any organisation resign or you will be expelled,if churches do that what more Political parties, your hatred for The Pact should not blind you to reality bululu

  8. Wanzelu,

Which convention? I thought UPND has never held any convention since the demise of its founding leader Mazoka? Where was that convention that i missed and which year? I hope you are not talking of the caucus the had at Mulungushi to coronate HH where HH ordered a forceful chasing of Patrick Chisanga, Bob Sichinga, Henry Mtonga, Sakwiba Sikota and Given Lubinda. Are you talking of that meeting?

  9. Good start Maj. Chizyuka. Dont just give up. You have fought in real battles. Keep fighting until the end. Commence contempt proceedings against HH and his band of kaponyas. if you lose in the High Court just appeal to the Supreme court . . .meanwhile you are still MP for Namwalala fimo fimo. This will buy you some 9 or more months and by the time this matter is done Parliament will be dissolved. You will get your full gratuity and then start a vicious campaign against HH . Just approach FTJ for funding. Kafupi will get back some $$$ from Zamtrop for dishing out to those who are fighting chi Sata and his evil kaponyas .All this time, .the Speaker will be on your side like the PF rebels. Wecome to Zambia the real Afrika!

  10. There we go again, an exposition of the lack of tolerance in the opposition. The opposition is loosing its meaning of democracy. The chap was not served with a possible hearing, and any form of transparency, quick to act UPND, this smear on the party will leave a lot of people with the question whether true democracy will be able to be upheld in your government. This matter should have been handled better by HH, that post newspaper article showed a side of HH that we did not know! I am with those people who say why would HH let go of his strongest advocator?

  11. I am still MP and see me in Parliament. I have submitted to the speaker the injuction from High Court and indicated that if the outcome is not favourable to me, I will appeal. The Speaker has told me in confidence to ignore these silly chaps and will only act on ruling from Supreme Court.

  12. I do not think HH is wrong here , please let us just face the reality Robie want to continue dwelling on tribalism while HH has realised that nobody can go to state house without embracing all Zambians that is the issue here.

  13. HH is a lumpen. He imported kaponyas from Cb and Lusaka. why and what for? He needs a good beating for him to start using his head for thinking. Guys you lost the opportunity yestada in Solwezi to specifically target HH and hack him. He should have been in hospital for at least 6 months …. he sucks

  14. Peace Maker you are 100% right. One Zambia one nation! But at what expense? In 1991, we didnt care who came in power we just wanted change, but where did that change lead us to? You peace maker in Zambia should know better. If what we have read is anything to go by, the issue, here is that HH did not like the fact that this man was of the view that he HH should be leader of the pact and not Sata, thus to shut him up, he intigated expulsion, so that all others who dare to speak against him settling for VP, will follow chizuka’s lead. To us democrats, this is the same dictatorial lead we saw in PF, if against the party funder you are gone. If we want development, political parties whould not be run like a household, allow divergent views, people will respect you more!

  15. Major Chizyuka should have himself to blame. In any association there are rules set for members to follow and if one goes against them hten he faces the boot. Chizyuka got carried with the coverage he was getting from the media. He forgot to reason that the media can build and destroy at the same time. Look at former Zambezi East MP Maxwell Mukwakwa and the Post reporter. It was bad for the mans political career. Let those who gave Major Chizyuka much coverage come to his rescue. Why is he refusing to recognise his expulsion from UPND? The man is a traitor to democracy. He should go Zambia first self last.

  16. Ladies and Gentlemen, this just a case of eating your cake and still want to have it. 14 dont call us Kaponyas or we will sort you real good.

  17. All you talking about Chizyuka, So do you al also feel Mpombo should be Kicked out ?? What about Magande ???

  18. You can actually fees sorry for him. Even if he refuses, he is gone, and the pACT will almost certainly win the bye election >>> . well he should have known better. Every club has rules

  19. I always wonder what has become of Zambian politics it’s a shame. Ba Chizyuka if you don’t like the system in the UPND please leave them to mislead themselves and join other parties am sure you will be welcome somewhere, and once you are there continue with your staff. As for now why are you holding on to UPND? I don’t understand, belive you me whatever you are going to do you will just lose your time and money, oh maybe you are enjoying the fame you are receiving from the media? Whatever you do all the best, look at Ba Faustina Sinyangwe kaya she is able to go ku Matero even, then you ask who is she representing in parliament? It’s a shame!!

  20. It is difficult to comprehend Chizyuka’s thinking in todays world. His hate for non Ila speaking people is what i detaste the most. Reading yesterday’s Post article about the three Chiefs from Northern province visiting Chief Bright Nalubamba of Namwala means a lot for the pack and i bet this causes Chizyuka to panick. Like # 5 has commented, his lawyers are now salivating at the thought of another credit entry to their bank statement. Asking questions like where he signed and delivery are not valid as the said letter was delivered to his very own lawyers. A check at the registry of his lawyers will prove receipt. In business law postage of the letter is prosumed receipt by the addressee. These are real political wars you are now fighting not the Smith and Boer wars you fought. Good…

  21. Nkole abused by Mmembe now dumped is critically Ill

Disbanded Task Force Chairperson Maxwell Nkole whom Mmembe, Kabanda and Sata used but have now abundoned is vey ill without friends visiting him since he lost the job. Nkole is declining to seek medical attention from the hospital. He has entered into a deep depression following the termination of his contract with the now disbanded task force on corruption and desation of all those who were using him untill they destroyed his career.

Mr. Nkole is declining to seek medical attention from the hospital. However Taskforce on Corruption Public Relations Officer, Mukelabai Kwaleyela declined to comment on Mr. Nkole’s health saying it would amount to infringement of his right to privacy.

  22. Either we like it or not african politics are all dirt infact not only africe, even the states how ws bush voted in, pipo we have to be cafreful on hw we deifne what dirt is interms of politics………. and other associations. in politic u dont win u conquer your enermy……..
the UK and US govments are Killing pipo in Afgan and Iraq who is blaming that, they are also busy supplying guns and ammunitions in all wartorn countries but no one is blaming this, and the best as for us Zambians is to blame our politicians when they get dirt, think again, am no advocating for violence as dirt polictics may avoid voilence if well handled..
for any political party to win it has to play dirt but avoid voilence, that is what makes the difference btwn african and other continents………..

  23. #23 PATRIOT. Why do you support criminals? Nkole had a mission to see to it that those who abused the system were brought to book. To you so called PATRIOT that was wrong. What a shame to see people glorify gangsters.

  24. Ba Chizyuka, why crying like a babe? You were boasting but today your tail is down why? Be brave enough to meet HH and the PACT in election. Thats what happens to D.u.l.l. people like you who wants to take Zambia to the Time of Kingdome…Tonga kingdom, Bemba kingdom, Lozi kingdom, etc. Know that that time is long gone, now people are working together. REALLY YOU ARE A D.U.L.L MAJOR.

  25. Chizyuka boyi, kalale fye! Walelanda sana iwe. Whats your problem now? Consider yourself the newest member of politicians in the dustbin archieves! Shalapo mune.

  26. Awe mwebantu pa blog, the thing is do not supress opposing views. Let him go and exhaust his remedies, infact ine the way I see umuntu namuntu needs to be given opportunity to be heard. Ba HH nabalufyana pachintu chimo, he should have just taken his time, and acted rationally, go through all channels at the end of the day inga bachifumamo a clean politican, Nomba this whole incidence has just created a ka sort of mystery that ba HH pali ichikulu tabalelanda bwino. But all the same what is positive about this is Sata has shown who is a better candiate, so PF supporters you should be smiling right!

  27. To Mojo:
To my knowledge their was a convention held at the Mulungushi convention centre.
There were delegates from all over Zambia in attendence. We all saw the two camps ( HH’s and Saki’s) dancing and singing before the voting took place. Each candidate made speeches even some guy who was based in South Africa wanting to stand as UPND president made a speech. HH didn’t chase away any party members after he was elected that comment is just malice. Also FYI Henry Mtonga and Bob Sichinga had already left the party before Mazoka died. Given left with Saki after Saki lost the election and they went on to form ULP.

  28. You are right Mojo(no.7) Actually, NO convention has ever given us a president. Zambia’s repetitive history has not been captured well by those who should. Chiluba was not even at the meeting that formed MMD, neither was Kaunda present when Chona et el formed UNIP. RB too never chassed state house. This beautiful legacy has ensured that Zambia is never ruled by a megalomaniac. And so like Kapwepwe, Nkumbula, Kadansa Mazoka etc, HakaSata will eventually go away (literally kick the old pail) unless they rule by proxy in 2016 by jointly bringing a brand new man to the table. Thuggery against Chizyuka or Sinyangwe will not change a set direction. The post needs to check these facts and stop manipulating Zambia towards their own dreams.

  29. Do we have any principles at all? When we’re inside, we shout praise slogns. When we misbehave and we’re kicked out, we say the guys inside a dictators, this and that, and we wash our dirty linen in public. How about principles for a change? Same applies to Sata and the MMD, Mpombo and the MMD. The late Teta did the same about UPND. Harlots, that’s who you are!!!!

  30. the fact is Chizyuka is gone. That guy is a tribalist.I have met him several times in namwala on my work assignments. Its clear that you have to be Ila or not.He was even instigating DEBs office to bring only Ila teachers to namwala.what a shame.

  31. SATA will sell the UPND-PF PACT presidency to HH for 5 billion and then go into retirement.at his age he has got nothing to lose.HH is to positive that the pact will scoop the 2011 vote and with him as presido for the next 10 years.he will have proped up his companies and doubled the 5 billi. Sata’s henchmen will be the losers in the game.

  32. I am not surprised that there was no hearing for Chizyuka, that is what happens when a party is run by an indiviual from his pocket. Its like a business, you will be fired if you do not accept my position. #35, I did not hear you condemn Sata or GBM when he said Kasama is for bembas. These are the double standards that you politicans should avoid. We would like Zambia to move away from politics of name calling tribalism, and such midiocre arguments. As the future leaders dont let your personal grudges overide your very intelligent power to reason and formulate a good argument that we blogger can learn from. A good analysis of facts will show here that there has been a failure in the order of justice!

  33. Big Mule.# 32
I have reasons to sympathise with cadres here and on the ground. Many are burning in absolute vanity and time will judge them that this Zambia. Some are calling for war even when they have never been in a 6 hour simple firing range for critics.Anyway its democracy let every political actor like all armchair critics see their victory out of political race. This testifies the respect and confidence Zambian citizens have in the country’s independent and transparent electoral system democracy has successful nurtured. Its only in transparent and free practical democracy as Zambia that all political actors see their opportunities.MMD has indeed brought the reforms it pledged 18 years ago and now its war against poverty and illiteracy.Again, MMD leads the way.Bravo Zambia!

  34. I also send high value congratulations to the democratic people of Mozambique on the overwhelming reelection of their President under the FERELIMO ruling party. We applaud you for see wisdom and enduring patriotism in your head of state a veteran freedom fighter we worked with very well here in Zambia. His Excellency President Rupiah Banda must be very proud that his long time compatriot in liberation struggles and child hood friend has been reelected.

Long live Mozambique, long live Zambia, long live SADC and long live mother Africa.May our bonds grow from strength to strength.

  35. Fred Mmembe knows that his rhetoric has no space in Zambian to dictate real power dynamics but for economic survival, he has to keep playing on the minds of none critical thinking political demagogues to keep sales leads and revenue coming in his troubled waters. He knows that Government and MMD are two entities way ahead of him in all dimensions and space. He is purely thriving within the MMD acceptable tolerance ratio.let him try to engage in extrajudicial activities and prove who has the sledge hammer to force a chapter of history.

  36. Major chizuka you are a hero.some PF cadres think that the tongas will vote for Sata in 2011 and they forget that Hichilema will stand as UPND president in 2011.The tongas also think that the bembas will vote for Hichilema that is why vocal MPs are bursting thinking that they are tired of being backbenchers.but they will see the break of the egg soon. just wait .major dont warry.
I know how the conservatives tongas are. They are are hardliners. The same bembers never voted for Mwanga nkumbula neither did they vote for Mazoka. How can the bembers from the north vote for Tonga President .we shal see how that will happen.

  37. #41…I think you are feeling the heat of the PACT. Gone are those 19th century propagandas, those guys from different tribes hated each other coz that was the order of the day. Tribe against tribe, race against race , black against white? The world has changed dear. The world has brought new order of civilization where all people want to live in one village. Blacks and whites are marrying each others, tribes are marrying each others, Tongas and Bembas are marrying each other. So why should you continue living in the old uncivilised days of the Kingdoms? Man ,us youths want to see all tribes in Zambia working together. I am here living with Tongas under the same roof. Alll of us live like brothers …this is what the world is moving towards. A new generation has come in the world.

  38. #40 Veteran…..hahahahah kwena bwana ba SENIOR CITIZEN tamwa kwata amano. You said you would retire from LT blogging but you have not, the only thing you have done is changing your ID from snior citizen to VETERAN. Iyee kwena amano tamwakwata ba cinior Citizen. Ubupuba bwekabweka mu mutwe uyoo.

  39. #43 Look at you, typical of the hooliganism behaviour in this so called pact, insults, name calling, and riding on tribalism. You are those people, who pretend to say one thing and mean something else. Insults will not get you anywhere, use your gray area and counter argue! Infact I have a strong inclination that you are more tribal than this fake unity you are preaching here. Because the so called brothers you call now can help you get Sata to state house, now you see them as brothers, very fake! Even us non partisan people see how shallow your little kingdom masquared is, utter nonsense, if you ask me!

  40. Moreover, for your information there is nothing new youtalkingabout, tribes have been marrying each other way befor eyou saw the sun. Quit this politcal Masquerade about kingdoms, you are the only one talking about them, meaning you are the deep rooted Bemba tribalist we cannot tolerate in Zambia!

  41. #45 ……. It will not help you . What ever you say time has changed man. The most dispised race in the US is ruling voted by a new generation. This is what is happening through out the world. If you are living in the old days of hatred you have no stake in this civilized world. People are working together all over the world. I THINK YOU ARE FEELING THE HEAT OF THE PACT. IT IS A NEW GENRATION BABA. I WILL MARRY A TONGA WHEN I GO BACK TO ZAMBIA NEXT YEAR. As a new generation we should kill all tribes in zambia and remain only with one tribe and that will be ZAMBIA. YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT AGAINST ME BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT A NEW GENERATION HAS COME IN ZAMBIA.

  42. A courageous and principled man! If only Zambia had more MPs like chizuka, and less of the “yes bwana” job seekers in parliament today, who can’t even stand up to their president when he errs, for fear of losing that MP salary, I think we could have made much more progress in our development.

All the very best with the injunction proceedings Major!

  43. hahahhaha…..you have made my day…marrying a tonga gal, does not take away the fact that you are deeply entrenched in this tribal talk. I have read through the blog, you are the only one singing about kingdoms which we cannot see, us who visit Zambia every other weekend. I tell you son, inter marriages have been happening way befor your time, there is nothing new there, in any case, all you are doing is raising unecessary alarm. I tell you now, stop this fake Masquerade about kingdoms, and discuss more educative things that we may be able to appreciate, do not take us back to 19 pende ifikondo, come to Zambia, and see that we are already intermingling, and marrying each other already. For your information am mixed blood, bemba and lozi.

  44. #44…Know that I will never stop preachng against kingdoms. The kingdom -inclination of people of Zambia is the cause of underdevelopment and poverty. This is because not all people contribute to various policies of the country. In countries were there is only one tribe and that is the country its self, you see great development. Look at Sweden, the sweds are so advanced and are so hard working people coz there is oneness and unity. There are no tribal divisions no. THIS WILL BE MY GOSPEL TO ZAMBIANS ALL THE DAYS I WILL SPEND TIME ON THIS BLOG. Let us kill tribes if we want to develop ….and this is through inter-tribe mariages. LET US BRING IN A NEW GENERATION UNDER A TRIBE ZAMBIA.

  45. #45…, I agree with you all the way, except for two things:
    1. there ain’t nothing “NEW” about Sata my man, if thats the kind of pipo ur refferring to “new generation”.
    2. Let’s not call for the “murder” of all tribes in Zambia-coz that understates the importance of our cultural heritage. Rather, call for a radical change in thinking of Zambians, where no particular tribe should think of itself as being superior over others-coz non is. We are all one Zambia one nation!

  46. #50, I like you debate mudala, ulikwisa we link up in this beautiful country which has developed and recognised various tribes, and even though they do have different tribes, they have managed to prosper to a level close to a first world country. Let us not live in an illusion, that we have kingdoms in Zambia, because that is far from the truth, only an entrenched tribalist would see things that way. Viva, One Zambia, One Nation. We hope God will show us a future leader to help us cross the trying times we are going through!

  47. #48…. now dady you are tonning down, however that will not help you. We as youths are saying no to the nosense of kingdoms. We want to live in peace just like our friends in the developed world live. We dont want the nosense of Kingdom- inclination which was the order of the 18th and 19th century. We dont know what you guys did to each other that you went to that extent of hatred. Tribe aginst tribe, race against race, balack against white…even selling your fellow people. No dady those days are gone and civilization has come into the world.

  48. # 50 & 52 YOU ARE ONE AND THE SAME musomo………My dear it will not help you. Hatred is so bad dear. let us young people live in love, oneness, unity and common purpose. We are saying no to your old hatred found in the archive of kingdoms. Civilization has taken centre stage in the world. And you are saying that Sata will kill tribes in Zambia, thats your own thinking dear. Thats the thinking from the archives of kingdoms I am talking about.

  49. hahhahha, musomo are you sata’s son brother, I have not spoken of anyone here it i syou who is raising so much tribal larm when you speak of kingdoms, you saying you will come to change things in Zambia by marrying a tonga, I tell you that in so doing you achieve nothing if you are entrenched tribalist. Intermarriages are not new in Zambia, and this hatred you preaching we do not see it apart from polliticans using it as a campiagn tool! I think Zambians have accepted each other fully, embracing one Zambia one nation. And if you want confirmation, call lusaka times you will find that I do not share same identity with #50, am sure he is joining in on our debate! My advice to young man Kingdoms are long gone, tribal politics is between the politicians not us simple non partisan Zambians!

  50. Sorry meant to say Kambongolo, young man I will leave you now, you have given me enough laughter for an evening! Good luck in your search for that beautiful tonga gal, I hear they are very beautiful.

  51. #55&56….you see , you are even talking to your self. It is a sign that you lack good reasoning. You are using the two IDs man. Just own up to you wrong thinking man. I will never stop preaaching inter-tribe mariages as a way of bringing oneness and unity in our country. All the developed world do not have tribes but their tribe is a country itself. I dont care if I am steping or will be steping on your nevrves but will contnue with the same gospel so that it hurts you where it pains the most. I will continue preaching against kingdoms.

  52. #57 intermarriages happen already in Zambia, and secondly, you cannot kill your tribe son, just like you have a name, kambongolo (meaning donkey), people will belong to a certain tribe, because that is who you are. Killing tribes wil not make you any less tribal than you already are. Instead, as at now, as the future generation, you should be looking at the current issues, such as the violence going on in Zambia, not kingdom talk, that is history man! Come back to 2009 son! I however respect your freedom to exercise your gray matter in the best way that you know how, “kingdom talk”.

  53. #57……. I think you are feeling my gospel against the kingdoms. The few who have inter-tribe mariages are looked down upon their tribes folks. This is what a cvilized generation should kill in our country. Kingdoms has no place in the present civilized world. What we want is peace, love, unity and oneness for common purpose and thats development of our country by all the people of Zambia. The old hatred in the archive of kingdoms should be left in those stinking archives to pave way for civilization in which development is the key word. I will continue preaching against the kingdom-inclination which you cherish so much so that it pains you every day .

  54. “I have followed Major Chizyuka for quite some time. I have listened to his debates in parliament and they rank among the most passionate and well researched debates in parliament currently. He has always been a pro-poor voice and a fearless critic of the government. What most people don’t know is that Major Chizyuka has been championing the causes of indigenous Zambians, fighting for land and has taken on government through the Indigenous Peoples Rights Movement, even before he became MP.I respect him for expressing his concerns over ‘the pact’, the same concerns that most people in UPND and PF have but are too cowardly to express him. If his expulsion is upheld and he eventually loses his seat, we will have lost one of the best MPs in the current set up in my opiniion (to be…

  55. ……He is to me a breath of fresh air and a departure from the bootlicking, bottom wagging and blind praise singing mentality in Zambia Politics. God bless Zambia
    By Keith (Extrract from M.u.v.i.T.V)

  56. #6 Walasa mulyakela! Look at how they chased HE T.Kahenya? Thats the nature of hh that want to lead this country at all cost. He is going to be the waste dictator this country has ever seen! Anyway God forbid. Let us be able to read between lines then we will make informed dicissions. The choice is yours but be mindful that it will affect mother zambia.
