President Rupiah Banda has advised media organizations against using the media as a tool of destruction.

Speaking live on Radio Chikaya in Lundazi, today, Mr Banda urged the media to refrain from being used by sections of society to stir up confusion in the country by publishing political insults which he said can cause anarchy in the country.

The President, who was speaking on the Radio station’s Good governance and the community programme, stated the media plays an important role of informing the people on various developmental programs.

Mr Banda stressed that as Republican President he has the power to shut down any media organization but said he would not do so because he believes in freedom of the press.

He further stated that the media houses that have been criticizing him, have done the same to his predecessors noting that criticism was not a new thing.

Sections of the media has in the recent past under taken consistent attacks and criticism on President Banda and his administration, a situation that has attracted concerns from peace loving Zambians.

The President, who is in Eastern Province on a working visit, is scheduled to end his visit to the province today after which he is expected to connect to Northwestern Province to drum up support for for Solwezi Central MMD candidate Albert Chifita.

And President Banda has assured the people of Lundazi District that government will complete the construction of the Chipata -Lundazi road.[quote]

He said government realizes that the road is an important road that connects the country to the rest of the country and international markets.

Mr Banda said government would soon complete the 80 plus kilometers construction works to ensure that farmers in the province can access markets for their produce.

He also said that in a meeting with traditional leaders of Lundazi, they had informed him that they were pleased with the feeder roads that are being maintained by the Chinese contractors.

He further assured the nation that all roads in the country would be worked on and maintained.

Meanwhile, president Banda said government reduced the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) pack because government had realized that peasant farmers only require one or two of top and basal dressing fertliser.

He also stressed that government has engaged traditional leaders and churches on the distribution panel to ensure there is no corruption in the distribution of farming inputs.

  1. RB thinks he is a god atase, what powers does he have? just concentrate on developmental issues than yapping un sensible things

  2. “We stand to depend on bloggers for votes as Sata’s insolence angers Bembas” quote Kaseba Sata

THE Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) has been saddened by Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata’s disrespectful remarks against Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.

BRE Spokesperson Bwalya Chiti said in an interview yesterday that Mr Sata’s accusations that Chief Chitimukulu’s pocket had benefited from President Rupiah Banda’s Government were unfortunate.

  3. I have read the reactions of the BRE as posted here by Sata’s worried fifth wife Kaseba. One thing Bembas ought to know is that Sata is a Bisa from Mbeya Tanzania with incorrigible hatred and envy for the bembas.I do not see him behaving with dignity but usual disrepute against the lubembaland.

  4. Regrettably we know that smear campaign Sata has signed up with haters of the Bemba culture and language to drag and smear the enduring lubemba image in muddy clay. We have petitioned the BRE leadership under Bwalya Chiti to soon convene leadership at different levels of the Bemba establishment like Luapulans are doing under Mwata Kazembe to counter and purge Sata’s satnism. The Bemba establishment can no longer take the insolence and impersonations of its haters turned hired guns but using it to ride political space.Sata is a Bisa from Tanzanian parents without good intent for the Bemba establishment. Bembas do not insult Bisa Chiefs and their people and Sata has not matrimonial or patrimonial right to insult bembas.

  5. You have no POWER except that which is granted to you from above,so be careful
least the Almighty strip you of that power you so brag about, and surelly HE IS ABOUT TO DO JUST THAT,therefore put your house inorder.

  6. Any Zambian tradition and culutual establishment has the responsibility to stand up and challenge outsiders whose cultures are not subverted but are signed up to do subvert other cultures.Sata can go and build a strong Bisa culture than smearing the lubemba one.

  7. And so Lundazi, – kanele box 1, has a Radio Station?? well done Radio Chikaya …
RB, just wish this radio station well in stead of talking crap…

  8. At the end of the day, te truth be told the media has alot of power. The selective reporting occasioned by some media houses is quite diappointing, Zambia needs a new vibrant media house to give some of these personal to holder media houses some serious competition. Every other page is about insults accusations….do Zambians strive on gossip and insults…its very disappointing.

  9. Constructive criticism should always be appreciated. A year into office, RB should gain in confidence and resilience to criticism. What has brought unprecedented criticism on his government is the way he has handled pressing national issues such as the fight against corruption, RP Capital and Zamtel sell, Chiluba’s acquittal and the relegation of Mwanawasa’s legacy, his appetence for gallivanting instead of attending to a horde of national issues . His tone and choice of words are unpresidential; his speech often riddled with outbursts of anger and insults.

  10. Yah! mudaloyu c.i.p.u.b.a sana. Akatampa lilali ncito yacalo rather than fighting the media and the opposition? Umwaka naupwa tacibomba cibwata fye ifyabupuba. Zambia deserves better, men!

  11. Now you know what kind of devil Sata really is. How can we forget so easily? This man was kafupi’s righthand man not so long ago. the Chuitmukulu should summon this devil to the Bemba court and have him whipped in public.

  12. #3,4,5,7 Senior Citizen
I thought you had made up your mind you wont be back anytime soon, what happened. The more you defend this inept Government the more we hate hate MMD and RB, so you just waste your time mate. Instead of wasting your precious time( that is if you’ve other things to do) writing essays here, find yourself a proper job to support your relatives back home. I hope you’re not as stubborn as your father- RB to accept this advice.

  13. First read the whole chapter of Matthew 23:1-39.Kindly take note of Verses 9-15. Here the bible is very categorical about these Pharisees today forcing citizens to reach God through them otherwise; citizens are threatened with death in the genocide projects of these regressive theocratic Pharisees against all humanity that doesn’t convert.

  14. The whole country is live to the fact that those Pharisees are busy bankrolling Mmembe to stir hatred but in vain. It’s a dedicated cult seriously planning a catholic regressive theocrat Presidency or genocide against voters.
Evidence that they are “the architect of an anticipated genocide in the country is overwhelming.” Recently, they feed the UK based Economist Magazine that Zambia will be going into civil war by late 2009 or early 2010.To vainly disguise their footprints, they let the Economist Intelligence place their plan report in the quarterly newsletter of World Vision of summer 2009.

  15. Thank God, i hear some vigilant Zambians picked the report and hosted an internet talkradio show under theme, “Combustible Countries”. I’m yet to Google and listen to it online. They shredded the report and trashed it with overwhelming Zambian spirit in consensus.
This said, what Zambians are experiencing are some vicious cycle of offenses, smear, malice, hatred, and anti Christianity attacks by Catholicism cult. These are all designed to make all of us at home and in the Diaspora to get distracted from real issues affecting our lives and country, especially the life of our poor majority living in rural areas.” It’s a reactionary push over declining Catholicism a cult Christian declared Zambia has been steadfastly writing off.

  16. They want a catholic regressive theocratic President. But where have you seen the best out of a catholic Presidency? If anything, Catholics we have as opposition candidates are all retarded losers. Is it that of Haiti’s Jean-Bertrand Aristide a priest, Zimbabwe’s Mugabe, Angola’s Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Mexico´s President Felipe Calderon, Ecuador’s Garcia Moreno or which one?

  17. These are Pharisees with many pervasive vices including having a tendency towards genocide. Its time they were challenged to openly join politics and contest elections instead of hiding behind the Pharisee pulpit.

One doesn’t have to be very perspicacious to realize that they fully plan and support Genocide and perversion around the world such as homosexuality– and this is absolutely consistent with everything they have been promoting over many years.

  18. The government’s relationship with the Catholic Church is low because these Pharisees don’t like anyone who creates open space for religious freedom besides Catholicism cult. It is a religious cult that only welcomes those who support or don’t question its evil dealings with weak and vulnerable kids.

  19. Anyone who tries to question or oppose their pervasive acts from sexual scandals, promotion of Genocide to homosexuality by parishioners they are doing is an enemy who should be crushed even by genocide. There is no honest Christian body or community that can today look at the Catholic cult as a church because church is about Christ and not Catholicism cult Matthew 23:9-15.

  20. so of u bloggers are just useless wanks. internet thugs. silly like the post editor. rb is a gud man. hypocrites al of u.i hope u have carnal knowledge of your god sata. f.o.o.ls

  21. Ba Kaseka, Patriot, Veteran, Mwata whatever You have alot of time on your hands, we are still waiting for our passports GET BACK TO WORK. Shikulu obe RB umutumine Telegraph kaili takwata email, umwebe ati amano ya mu m.a.t.a.ko tatufwaya.

  22. Our hard earned $100 for new passports is going To Veteran aka Kaseka so that he can pay for his internet service. What Genocide? mule lwisha ati musunge aka nchito ku embassy ayi?Umwebe shikulu obe ati we have our own free thinking minds and we know what is right and what is wrong, so you are wasting your time Veteran aka Kaseka. GET BACK TO WORK.

  23. WOW..! ..This veteran, patriot, kaseka etc, etc…,.if they are indeed one and the same ,..does elicit some strong reactions from fellow bloggers .. 🙂
No 15 Kaseka, cld u pls confirm if u suffer from multiple personality disorder? Coz judging from what u’ve written above , u are definitely mad.!
    If i can refer u & No22.., to No11 Monalisasyndrome.
I think he/she portrays (excuse the pun) the situation very well.
As for RB mentioning insults…,well it comes from both, his side and the opposition PACT.

  24. Was RB speaking about the state owned media or he was bent on The Post and other FREE media that report what they see as compared to Times of Zambia, Daily Mail, Zanis that go to government offices to waiting to be called in for briefings and given printed papers to go and retype? Next time we shall hear that they are being given Flash Drives with information to go print. That to Ben Kangwa (Veteran, Senior Citizen) is news worth reporting.

  25. Patriot, your comments are off boundary, misplaced and too confusing. Do you know this issue has nothing to do with Sata.?

  26. gosh with rb in charge we have gone back to the 70’s, next we will be calling each other comrade . . . . . . speechless really

  27. We have already hit square one. Having an old man on the will. He thinks he can do anything. He does not when to apply wisdom and where. Everything is really centered on this image called president. This reminds me of old stories in those old stories or Animal Farm. We are already there, just wait and see. He is travelling to Solwezi, check the language and its vulgurness

  28. It was going to be nice to use those powers to fight poverty, diseases, unempolyment, illiteracy and the provision of other services. Now those powers God forbid

  29. Kula bwata bwata fye, ifya bupuba. Thwy have sliped through unawares and so we are in for it. It does not even seem real but hey we are stuck with this. It has to haunt us for the next 8 years or so. Unless God come to our rescue. We have to pray hard brothers. To have people who see wrong as right and right as wrong is the dreadest thing that can befall a nation. Because of arogance, we had the fuel problem, and now because of too many petrol tanks on the roads, accidents have started and lives are lost. It starts simple but look where it is taking the country.

  30. Mr. President, the majority of Zambians need food on the table, they are not interested in what you have to say to the media. No wonder most of the comments here are totally misguided.

  31. RB the media is just helping you to sit up,, and that is some good help you need to thank them for you will see how much damage you have to zambia in all corners of the govt after your stay at statehouse..

  32. If the media is reporting the truth, then they must accorded all the respect. But what we have from the Post are bare faced lies being supplied in industrial quantities to destroy or tame the Presidency of Rupiah Banda. This is how they managed to intrude Levy’s administration by simply reporting that Levy said “bembas are stinking and I hate them”. Just that report put Levy on the defensive because Bembas constitute 43% of the Zambian population. He knew that continued reporting of that statement would literally make him an enemy of the bembas. In his panic he hired two bemba vice presidents and he fired both. Rupiah should not allow himself to be duped in this scam from the private media and the colony of round faced NGO leaders. The core business of the Presidency is to rule…

  33. Has anyone ever wondered as to why these mmd fanatics have more or less the same kind of opinions, language and line of thought,so annoying to say the least, we had Veteran,Senior citizen, now we have kaseka.you are not helping yourselves or yourself, by spouting that drivel,it wont help any of us change our opinions about RB and MMD,instead it makes some us hate it with a passion, if you had any wisdom, you would write sensible stuff that would make people debate your pros and cons, but whatever you write is not only confusing but a load of bull,im made to believe your are wise and could come up with very sensible and mature blogs, but your circumstances are not allowing because you are paid to write that and if whoever pays you to write reads your stuff he is more dumb than you lot

  34. #35 Olilo are you able to back up or to come up with a number of bare faced lies that the media have laid on RB.Im sure you have facts and maybe we can compare notes here. The media has been critical not only to RB,but starting from its inception,it was critical of chiluba, Levy and now RB,if it wasnt for post we wouldnt have known that chiluba is a LAZO would we.RB lied that he was on state visit in SA,to which the liaison officer in Joburg refused,no one from state hse refuted that was a lie,RB said the post owes zambians $30mil, thats a lie coz he cant substantiate that,he is on record telling numerous lies and some of them embarrasing coming from the president, can you please tabulate the lies and insults that the media have laid on RB

  35. I have never heard the Litunga or any chief in Barotseland parading themselves before a politician and declaring their unwaivering support like these silly “chieves” from Luapula and Northern province have been doing to Kansundila and the MMD. They all know only too well that our constitution does not allow them to politic but they deliberately decided to usher themselves into the political ring and cry foul when the likes of Sata engage them in shadow boxing! Especially Chief Puta and Chitampakwa Mwine Lubemba Chitimukulu, eba mambala number 1. By the way, Sata is Nwacusa from Mbeya, there are no Bisa’s in Mbeya, Bisa are from Mpika, kwa Nabwalya.

  36. KASEKA- Am sure you are SC etc. You never complained when the POST fought for the introduction of MULTYPARTISM which eventually ushered in the now ROTTEN MMD. See the speck in your eyes before you see it MMEMBE. The Post has stood by its original principles- to dig deeper and report it as its. Your RB is forgeting that the TIMES and DAILy report what state house wants them to say- lies or truth- they have to toe the line. And dont think that by using so much space here you will win us over NO. Being an original member of the now rotten MMD, I know how bad things have become in MMD from the BARRING of KK, 3rd TERM etc. Only a greedy person can stick to MMD of course for personal gain. You rig elections which is a great sin in the eyes of GOD. Dot use the BIBLE for corruption.

  37. BORING…..BORINg…BORIng….BORing….BOring…Boring…boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Stimulating no interest or enthusiasm

  38. Iwe, chi RB you use ZNBC, TV2, Times and Daily, including ZANIS to misinform pipo! Please, spay us the grief. When are you going to settle and start working. You seem to basking and wallowing in last years victory, when your friends are busy plotting for 2011. Wake up you fool! Your level of idi*sy is unprecendent and is reaching disproportionately alarming levels. We deserve better than this thug! Your leadership is full of Obusushi! – it stinks, and you seem not to smell it because its your masushi!

  39. Media critism gives you the opportunity to check your balance.Just do that and you will never go wrong…Improve on developmental projects and lessen travelling, you have misused our tax pay so much. God help us…..

  40. The problem with the post is that they want a President they can dine with, write books for and basically control. If like Chiluba or Rupiah Banda you chose to retain your indepedent thinking, they will obvoiusly manufacture lies. That paper is not patriot, it is front of imperialism and straight from the one world system. its roots are imbedded in the dark underworld where they chose who to promote or destroy. it represents the babylon system of doing things. There is always a day of reckoning where lies and deception do not work. Rupiah must begin vote mobilisation immediately so that come 2011, he extend his rule. He has shown us his calmness and wisdom in handling national affairs.

  41. Mr President , you will not worry what the media writes or talks about if you are doing right for the pipo. The media will always side with the condidates they like , so its up to the politicians to deliver and silence the media.

  42. who does not know that Membe got a lot of money from sata last year election. This man Membe is not a patriotic like other media in the west.Look the way the media report about africa negative all the time while to potray good image about their country.Membe will be the first one to run away from if there is a war here which he wants to happen. He wanted that time when the late president mwanawasa won the election. He wanted last year the pipo to rise agaist RB.This man membe he is not a hero.He is just a person who hates others. He campained for Mangende last year to be MMD presodent bu he lost.Have the pipo of Zambia died when RB came to power instead he managed to the economic crisis that hit the whole world .I doubt it sata would have done what RB has done.

  43. As much as i wish for Rupiah’s quick exit.i abhor the line of reporting the post have adopted.it’s dangerous to say the least.and what personal interest do they have in who should be president.because if it was hornestly in the interest of zambians they should not have turned around and start proping up sata the man whom only yesterday they were warning zambians about the dangers of his presidency if he was to win an election.Mmembe should stop being personal and critisize constructively in the interest of zambia and not what he stands to gain when their is regime change.sata as he knows is a piece of shit who should not even come close to power because he will abuse more than rupiah.

  44. Patrick Mwanawasa talking too much shit. Bring the boy on this forum, we want to skin him alive. We want to punch holes in the mwanawasa largesse
