Vice President George Kunda says government is proud of the judiciary in the country.
Mr Kunda said the Judiciary has continued to maintain peace in the country.
He was responding to a question that Plunderers were being protected by the Judiciary when he featured on SKY FM, a local radio station in Monze.
The Vice-President noted that the Zambian judiciary was highly rated among the Commonwealth countries and that government had confidence in the bench.
”We are proud of our Judiciary. The Judiciary has done wonders in this country and it is highly rated in the Commonwealth and we have confidence in the bench,” he said.
”We have always relied on the Judiciary in this country and sometimes justice is done in favour of the government and sometimes in that of the opposition”, he said.
The Vice-President also reminded Patriotic Front (PF) leader Micheal Sata that he was one of those people that had benefited from the Judiciary when he was accused of motor vehicle theft and he was later acquitted by the Judiciary.[quote]
Meanwhile, Mr Kunda advised the United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema to be careful of the UPND-PF pact because Mr Sata was a trickster who would use him and later dump him.
Mr Kunda advised Mr Hichilema to align himself with a constituency if he wants to become Vice-President.
Mr Kunda further said it was not true that the MMD was sponsoring Namwala Member of Parliament Major Robby Chizyuka.
He said Major Chizyuka was a principled man who truly appreciated the development that MMD was taking to the area.
”Accommodating Major Chizyuka is not to say that we are part of his differences in the UPND. The UPND is dictatorial and that party is on the brink of collapse,” he said.
Mr Kunda is tomorrow expected to hold public rallies at Mudenda and Dobo grounds in Choma district.
ZANIS
What judiciary is this man talking about? The judiciary does not exist in Zambia, thanks to people like him and his boss. What a joke.
“The Zambian judiciary is highly rated among the Commonwealth countries…”
Where did he get that data from? Definately not from Amnesty International.
Who wouldn`t if things are going your way iwe ka Kunda? Stop rubbing it in kamakanta iwe!
Ba Kunda you are day dreaming.
Why say it, the unsaid is more than the said. The unsaid is OUR JUDICIARY IS AMONG THE LEAST
Why hire a lawyer when you can buy the Judge let alone the President and turn him into your spokesman and everybody follows???????
But the Commonwealth itself is a colonial relic through which Britain controls former colonies. Heads of state from poor countries parade for the Queen wielding their fly whisks and other paraphernelia. The only Commonwealth countries Britain has respect for are Australia, Canada and New Zealand on the one hand, and the European Union on the other. The rest, ni mulungu chabe. George “Pelican” Kunda ought to know this, surely.
Unbelievable how this man has totally lost his direction. Kunda dont think zambians are stupid, yours days are numbered
ZAMBIA is in a BIG mess,so help us father God.

Of course kunda is proud of their judiciary, it does exactly as they wish. Its manipulated, corrupt and unjust to the poor. The accused is not availed witness statements from the complainant so they can prepare their defence and you call that a fair judiciary. The judiciary is responsible for sending poor people to overcrowded consentration camps for stealing a chicken or for smoking dobo but set free real criminals who have stolen from the nation in billionsIt puts convicts in the same place as remandees, that means you are guilty until proven innocent. In fact Zambia is the way it has become because of a useless judiciary, corrupt, inept, and a threat to the poor Zambian because once he appears in court he is guaranteed injustice.Village justice could even be better,by the Mwata or Mpezeni!!!
Dream on you red lipped shadow of a lawyer. This man is worse off than someone who stopped school in grade 1in the first period before the teacher could even enter class. Ba cadre bushe mwaba kumwenshi olo ni dala?
Mr VEEPare you saying the Judiciary sometimes favours the gvt and other times the opposition? is a good and just system about favours or it should be as the good old saying goes ‘ “UMULANDU NGAUPITILE PA MUSULA NOBE EPO WAPITA” if one is acquitted should it be called a favour? if favor is a ground for acquittal then we are in serious trouble!
We have a major problem within the country that needs open and very serious honest questions to be answered especially by those in power, but also economic power holders. Are you enslaved to anybody else because of depedance on your job? Are you a proud Zambian who believes you are not enferior to anbody but you are as good as the best.? Do you believe that Zambians have to be given the best opportunities in their own country first before anybody else? Do you believe the resources of Zambia are for the citizens first before sharing with the rest of the world? do you believe the best respect is to respect your own before others otherwise they are not respeting you?
Do you know Africa is the beginning of humanity? Ignorant, selfish, greedy politician dont sell the Zambian short.
Nonsense, this lawyer is a big foool. It’s the people’s happiness with something that counts, after all a democracy is of the people by the people for the people. What about people, are they happy George? The answer is certainly clear, please “learned” as you are, stop issuing stuupid sentiments like this, you make the likes of Ala Bee appear wiser that you.
what suprises me is that if a poor man, unemployed with a family to look after steals something, they are charged or when a lowest paid person in the country i.e house boy a girl steals from their master they loose the job instantly .Now the man believed to be the highly paid in the country holding the position of president does a similar thing the law changes, ba Kunda is this what you call justice? there is a bemba saying ‘ati nkatukila kumo ne cimbusa cakufundile” i dont know what law school u went to, very disappointing.
Lt is now irritating the news is all about MMD.how much do they give you?
Yes you are proud because right now the judiciary is composed of insecure old people who are ready to breasch all laws to suit the wishes of MMD.
What actually missing from one of the paragraph in the above article
”We[The MMD Clonies] are proud of our Judiciary. The Judiciary has done wonders [its such a wonder that the world’s most currupt thugs out there can’t come to zambia because the fear the high level of curruption] in this country and it is highly rated[ even zero is high if your refrence point is minus 1000] in the Commonwealth and we[MMD hynas] have confidence in the bench [where MMD have monted its Vice and sqweeeeezed the Judiciary’s balls],” he said [Kunda State Clown].
Have shame dreamer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ba Kunda it is the Zambian people who have maintained peace despite the anguish that our poor judicial system has put them thru. I, for one, commend then Zambians for their peace. For a long time in our education system the best pupils or students were made to do natural sciences and the rest would scramble for other courses. That resulted in a lower calibre of people going for other courses like Law, Econnomics, Social Sciences etc and unfortunately these are very vital for the nation’s development. To me this partly has caused our nation to be where we are at as human resources’ deployment has been poorly done over the years. George Kunda is a lawyer, I understand, and when I listen to him I do not know whether to laugh or weep.
there is no judicial it is a shop to buy freedom
