There is no water crisis at UTH – Mbangweta

Share

The water problem that affected the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has been rectified.

UTH Public Relations Manager Pauline Mbangweta confirmed to ZANIS in an interview that water was restored at the institution over the weekend. She was reacting to claims by the public that UTH has a water shortage and that there is an operational crisis in the theatre and mortuary.

Mrs. Mbangweta said following the pipe that burst, the hospital faced a temporary problem of water but engineers at the institution managed to repair the pipe.

She said the situation at Zambia’s biggest hospital is normal contrary to assertions by some sections of the public that there is a crisis.

“Our institution had a problem of water because of the pipe that burst but water was restored the same day on Saturday. Engineers at UTH repaired the broken pipe and we had water on the same day,” she said.

  1. People must learn to acknowledge the fact than politicking on almost everything. Spoke persons have also become politicians. This woman must leave UTH in that portfolio. She has over stayed at UTH and she is now covering up issues that must be fixed once and for all, more so she is doing this at the expense of people’s lives who may die because there is no water at the Hospital. UTH must also have boholes to avoid dependancy from piped water.

  2. Zambia reminds me of great Bob Marley’s song. Rat Race: In the abundance of Water, a fool is thirst. How many rivers and Water tables do we have in Zambia?

  3. its really a pity how uth has finished..saddens me especially that i lost my virginity there. ward 43d, nurse mubwata. chali na bokosi.jelous downi bane. deuces bane:)>-..

  5. I am left to wonder why this woman and that is if she is, and have felt the pain of labor is so much on the defensive side:-w If I were her, I would even exaggerate on worsening conditions so that something can be done about it. Your so called high fee paying ward,,?…… nobakoswe mbwee! Atase!:o Stop using the dying for you political mileage! Mwe mashilu!… Inkashi ukukalabana ngenkanda yaku m a t o l e~X( ba swine!….ukutumpa! your days are numbered. p@nyo p@anu :-t

  6. Ba LT, What is wrong with the word ” b a k o s w e?” they are plenty of them in those high fee paying wards….

  7. When you check most lavatories and ablution blocks at UTH, you will wonder why it has not been closed. They are pathetic, you can’t describe them! Where are the health or hygiene inspectors at LCC? Desperation makes us take our people to die at UTH, otherwise it would be better to lie down and die peacefully at home than catch more infections at UTH before you go to the other side. UTH is a health hazard that no sane person can defend, water or no water

  8. Why else wouldn’t she be defensive besides her wanting to protect her job and the image of the institution. Its really sad coz she seems to have no idea what it is like for just an hour without water at UTH. Shame!!
