ZAMBIA defender Emmanuel Mbola has ditched Armenian side Pyunik Yeravan.

Division One (North) Mining Rangers director Elijah Chileshe confirmed the development in Kitwe yesterday.

Chileshe said Mbola is not going back to Pyunik Yeravan because the Armenian club allegedly breached some terms of the contract.

He said Mbola’s decision must be respected by everyone.

“Mbola is not going back to Pyunik. That club has not been honest in the manner it has been handling issues. The player has complained of ill-treatment at that club. It is just right that he joins other clubs that will look after him well,” Chileshe said.

He said the player was promised a monthly salary of US$3,500 when he signed the contract with Pyunik Yeravan but the club has been paying him US$1,000 without explaining to the international defender why it did not follow what was in the three-year contract.
“Those people made him sign without our consent.

They promised to take him to school but they never did that. He is not going back and his issues are now being handled by FIFA. We can’t blame Mbola but Pyunik for not looking after our player well,” Chileshe said.

He said there are a number of offers from European clubs that include English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

He said Spurs are still chasing for the player’s signature and that they just want Mbola’s contractual problems resolved.

Spurs are understood to have tabled a 1 million pound deal to Pyunik for the services of Mbola.

Mbola cut short his 10-day trials at Spurs because the English Premiership side discovered he had a professional contract with Pyunik.

However, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said he was not aware about the presence of Mbola at the club.

Birmingham City and West Ham United are the other clubs that are reported to be after Mbola’s signature.
Mbola was impressive at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola where the Chipolopolo were eliminated by Nigeria in the quarter-finals.

  1. This all comes down to the three year contract that was signed. It then has to be established if there was any breach of contract and the party liable for such breach.

  2. Why are these issues coming out now that Mbola has attracted interest of good clubs? Mbola, together with his agent must be careful with this issue. It might just backfire on them. I would like him to play for a good club for the better of zambian football.

  3. Pyunica club were the first to breached the contract by paying mbola $1,000 instead of the $3,500 which was in the contract,:o the problem is that Mbola co’ld have tabled this issue a long time ago all this c’ld have not happened.but why telling us all these things now?????

  4. Given a chance I would advise Mbola to join West Ham or Birmingham. Tottenham is a very unpredictable team, he will not be given a fair chance. Already they talked of sending him on loan when Mbola is very mature and can compete at any level. They think he is not good enough to win a place. Let those who advise Mbola put their heads togetherf and do something that is right. That racist Tottenham manager said he did not see Mbola attending trials, it is an insult. We are with them here and we know how they behave and rate a black man. If Rooney was a black player he would not have been given a chance to flourish at a younger age. At Arsenal all players regardless of their origin they are treated very fairly. Open yourf eyes and see what is good for the boy. DO NOT BE EXCITED WITH TOTTENHAM

  5. Does anyone remember Dennis Lota saga that haunted the chap until retirement, this is what is going to happen to Mbola. Do not remove him from one bad club and take him to another problem. This is England and Tottenham is in London, Mbola will be trampled upon. I do not want to see a zambian player rotting on the bench when he comes here. The premier league has become dangerous, the rate of seroius injuries including broken legs is alarming. Look at Essien at Chelsea this is second time in two years having serious injury on one leg.

  6. Lwanya nomba, mr chileshe is trying to impose mbola to a bigger club so that alyemo akanono. Reminds me of the mayuka transfer saga

  7. Emwe bantu can’t we from Mbesuma saga at Pompey? This manager for Tottenham was he not the same manager who benched Collins? Mbola open your eyes. Not always that glinters is gold. Be careful, football skill will end there.

  8. The boy needs proper football scouts to represent him. Wud be good to see him here in Premier League, even if it’s West Ham or Birmingham City. He will certainly earn much more than that £750 per month which is £5 per hour. Minimum wage in UK is ca £5.75.

  9. #9 – you are speaking my language.
But all in all this situation is a bit fishy and Mbola and his agent need to be very careful. As for the Armenia team paying him less ~ that is why they say always read the fine print at the end of a contract.

  10. I can see from some of the comments that some people don’t understand how scouts and agents and transfers and clubs operate. Just go to the FIFA website and it will be explained to you. Whoever the agent of Mbola is, they are putting him in a ‘shop window’ to attract and land a good deal. BUT, one tactic used to achieve this is to undermine the club where the player is. Mbola will keep his mouth shut because FIFA are very hot on the so-called integrity of the contract. He can always ‘buy-out’ his contract and become a free agent! It all sounds like window shopping to me. In the meantime, I hope his football will not suffer. It’s unsettling for a player when transfer talk starts. Another issue, if a player asks for a transfer,he loses any cut from the transfer fee!! So others talk for…

  11. The boy should go to a smaller league like Belgium, France, Holland, etc to grow himself first before jumping for England. The big leagues will ruin his career

  12. This is a warning for all Zambians. The other issue is that the player Agent shuold be by Mbola’s side instead of just watching. Zambia need a FIFA agent quickly instead of letting the foreign based agents to handle all our players. Lets grow Zambia

  13. Manning Rangers will ruin Mbolas careear all 4 the sake of nchekeleko, let the rightful owners (Pyunik) sell the player and put this issue behind…
