I won’t be forced out, vows Magande

MMD Chilanga Member of Parliament (MP) Ng’andu Magande has said no one will force him to resign and that he would remain a member of the ruling party.

And Mr Magande said no one had powers to block him from attending any national executive committee (NEC) meeting because he was duly elected by the party convention.

Mr Magande was reacting to MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya’s challenge for him and his Kafulafuta counterpart George Mpombo to resign from the ruling party.

The former Finance minister said yesterday in an interview that he would not be forced to resign from the party because the people of Chilanga elected him.

“I am not a nominated MP, the people of Chilanga elected me to represent them and am doing just that,” he said.

When asked as to why he consistently attacked Government, Mr Magande denied ever attacking President Rupiah Banda and the Government.

“Where have I attacked the Government?” he said.

He said was representing the people of Chilanga well.

“I go to Kafue to attend council meetings and when I am given an allocation I am putting up boreholes in the constituency. I am also building high schools in the constituency,” he said.

And reacting to Copperbelt MMD Chairperson Joseph Chilambwe who threatened to block him from attending the party’s next NEC meeting, Mr Magande said no one would block him.

“Where are they going to hold the NEC meeting? Are they going to hold it at State House? State House is a public place and no one will block me from entering.

“Even now if I want I can go to State House because it is a public place. If Chilambwe wants to stand in my way I will run him over,” he said.

He said Mr Chilambwe had no powers to block him from attending the NEC meetings because he was elected.

Ms Siliya at the weekend asked Mr Magande and Mr Mpombo to resign from the party and avoid unjustified attacks against the Government.

Mr Mpombo could not be reached for comment.

And Mr Chilambwe has invited Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande to vistit the province and prove their popularity.

Mr Chilambwe said in an interview yesterday he was inviting Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande to vist the province to prove to MMD on the Copperbelt that they were popular following their continued attacks on Mr Banda and second Republican president Frederick Chiluba.

He said the duo were unprincipled and bitter people who were made popular by the Patriotic Front (PF) and United Party for National Development (UPND) Pact and some sections of the media which wanted to make headlines from their comments.

  1. RB is a democrat & a diplomat. He will tolerate these disident vices but his henchwoman feels threateNed. Why not just engage each other with ideas? Magande is a reasonable man who will rival RB for the Presidency. Let the best man win. Magande has been defeated before. As for chiMpombo, his name speaks for itself!

  2. I am back people ..I am back ,My Pentium 1 computer crashed a few years back, now I got a new one ..much improved Pentium 2 with a mind bending 20 gig hard drive ……its good to be back on the NET. :d/

  3. It is pretty sad that brilliant men like Mr. Magande are still hanging around in the party with a bunch of loosers like RB,Hule ya muntu, Siliya, corrupt and useless Mabenga. Just out of topic for a while, I usually used to meet Mabenga and family @ mass at St. Ignatius in Lusaka and I was asking myself that does Mabenga come to church to repent his sins or its just for the fashion? Anyway as many bloggers have pointed out that Magande ditched UPND to join MMD.I do not blame him because at least Mwanawasa and Magande had an agenda to move this country forward which they tried to the best of their ability but after the demise of Levy, it seems Magande has no shoulder to lean on now. That is how sad Zambian politics are!

  4. yes magande tel that HULE (siliya) off, who the hell daz she think she is? if shez (siliya) horny let ha go to bwezani so dat he can do ha ! VIVA PF-UPND PACT !!

  5. “If Chilambwe wants to stand in my way I will run him over,” End Quote

Are sure you will run over those who would resolve to kick you out? Time will tell who will be run over.

Ask Sata how he kicked late Mazoka out

Ask Hichilema how Sakwiba Sikota, Robert Sichinga, Patrick Chisanga and Henry Mtonga were kicked out of UPND at Mulungushi conference center in the heart of Lusaka for a tonga only Presidential dogma

Ask Kavindele how Mwanawasa’s MMD kicked him in 2005 at the convention,

Ask Kavindele how Chiluba’s MMD kicked him 2002 at their convention

Ask Chiluwe how KK’s UNIP kicked him at Mulungushi Rock of Authority

We will be watching how Magande will run over his opponents if not a pending casualty himself. History is about to repeat itself.

  6. MMD is democratic. Mr. Magande must not be forced out. If he is to leave, he should do so on his own will.

  7. #6, What you are talking about is an ideal situation. However come to reality, I am sure you know how politics in Africa are conducted! Politics here in our beloved Africa are run like a chiefdom! Everybody pledges allegence to the “Mfumu” The “Mfumu” being “Mfumu” has unlimited power and authority to change the course of any situation within his access

  8. pliz pipo of zambia, lets mind the way we utter words. lets not speak the language of violence. mr magande, running over someone is a crime. my advice to mr magande is to simply quit MMD rather than risking yo life. why shud u hang around with pipo who view u as an enemy

  9. It is a shame that Magande has nowhere to go; he cannot join PF/UPND Pact because he is noe sure of who the leader is in that Pact. He cannot leave MMD because he gets paid as an MP; he needs that cash…end result, remain in MMD, give MMD a head-ache and when mission is accomplished, leave politix to do faming,,,wachabe Magande!!

  10. On “And Mr Magande said no one had powers to block him from attending any national executive committee (NEC) meeting because he was duly elected by the party convention,” I give respect to the Tonga-bull who has stood his ground amidst confused bootlickers to non-elected by an MMD convention Mr President of Zambia RB Banda.

Please, MP Magande continue representing the people of Chilanga Constituency until time demands that you do something else.

Also, kindly consider joining the mighty UPND which you claimed to have been a sympathiser for. The mighty UPND needs boosting so that it can leave the UPND-PF PACT and concentrate on its campaigns.

    Have a blessed day all.

  12. #11 Youth Patriot for 2011 would-b President of Zambia HH (formerly HheHheHhe….)
Ever since you went back to Zambia, the quality your blogging has deteriorated. Here you are, being outright tribalistic. Shame.

  13. Unga Seke, MMD is in self distruction mode after moving on auto pilot for a long time under RB. he he he he.

  14. THE SAINT thanks for the positive constructive criticism. I will try to upgrade my current deficiencies, which may be due to the bad gov., for the better of all Zambians.

However, it is only true that the Mr President RB Banda Administration of GRZ is anti-Southerners and therefore I am mobilising all Southerners and Northerner well-wishers to stand against the abuse coming from the failed-Westerners like MMD National Chairperson Mabenga with his similar in thinking Easterners like Minister Dora Siliya and President RB Banda himself.

Anyhow, I am enjoying the MMD self-destruction due to their courting Third-Term Bid failure Consultant Mr Chiluba FJT.

    Be blest all.

  15. #3 MS Pontiff, You say that you go to St. Ignatius Church. As a fellow Christian, I would plead with you to always show restraint in your comments even when provoked. Please don’t call any one “Hule ya Muntu” even when taking advantage of the anonymity of the internet.

  16. Sorry LT allow me to counsel the mentally defeated chauvinistic foolish fool calling people hules.

    # 3 MSPontiff,

You calling people you differ with as hule only expose your foolishness while stripping your own mother naked right here. You were born of a woman in natural process not so? Here this, your mother took countless copulations, ejaculation and depositories to concieve you and make a safe incidence free delivery. Secondly you don’t really know who deposited a sperm that fertilized your zygote except your mother knows. The fact that your mother opened her legs to be inserted and ejaculated in, she is a hule.If she got you you from frozen-refrigerated sperm banks, then it explains why you come out demented chauvinist without realising your method of development.
