  1. Milupi is certainly retaining that seat.Hoever it will add no value whatsoever apart from satisfying his ego which is very s.t.u.p.i.dlooking at the cost involved.
Its good the Pact has gone through these problems now, lessons are going to be learnt and they come out stronger.

  2. God gave Tongas an increadible s.e.x-ual libido second only to “he goats” in Zambia but by a stroke of misfortune, he also endowed them with a length of memory equal in stretch to that of a “Munkhombwe”, i.e. chicken. When Inonge ran for United Party presidence, they fielded Baldwin Nkumbula to sweep Inonge away. But When Mulemba came knocking for the same presidence, Baldwin and his Tonga goons desparately sought support from the Lozi and it was rightly denied. One now wonders how HH and his lumpens think Luenese can vote UPND after what they did to Sikota? Loziz like Bembas have a long memory, Milupi is retaining his seat hands down.

  3. Milupi is the HH of western province.By winning this seat on his party ticket it will be a warning short for the next general election as he can swing the entire province to form a coalition govt. with the MMD.
HH is very ambitious and nothing wrong with that except he should research what went wrong with the old lion Harry M Nkumbula and also humble himself on the adage ‘Educated’?
King Cobra on the other hand is a pragmatist though needs to sell himself to the N/Western province which i believe he and Kambwili antagonised.
Hope these elections will be peaceful, whoever wins.

  4. Western Province is like a massive Sand Beach without a sea and ladies in bikinis. hahaaa
All that sand! I love Barotseland

  5. my worry is the mfumbwe repeating iself the government have again sent police recruit to luena it is a pity that this government donot listern to people.

  6. #8 Openess,

I share your sentiments, police recruits always tend to be over zealous and will provoke an ugly situation which they will fail to contain. A better solution is to have level-headed party leaders to monitor and direct their cadres sensiblly and remind them that it is not war but a bye election.

  7. BANTUSTAN AGAIN AT WORK . BANTUSTAN IS BANTUSTAN ,WHITE OR BLACK. WE ARE JUST MOVING IN A CIRCLE.LOZI, TONGA BEMBA AND NAME IT BANTUSTANS.WHO TO BLAME SURELY.

  8. Luena has over 15500 registered voters and so with natural pruning, transfers etc there will be less voters say 10,000
Of these 50% will vote for Milupi for the same reasons they chose him as an independent MP in 2006 with 6450 votes which is more than all the other candidates put together (MMD-4450)(UDA-186)(APC-145)(PF-145).
This election was unnecessary considering that Milupi was not evicted from any party.

  9. Hmm Lozi land has got nice beaches. heee…even schools are built on beaches?? nice place of sand. How do crops grow?

  10. #13 Kambongolo. Crops are grown in dambos. That same area Ushaa has a lot of rice paddies and a major fishing industry. It is a confluence of three canals.

  11. My Prediction: Winner: Milupi
    Second: MMD
    Third: UPND

    In all fairness, Milupi is value for money. This is the quality of politicians Zambia needs. As it stands;

    East: RB – value
    South: HH – value
    West: Milupi – value
    North: Sata – hhhmmm?

  12. I guess MMD is extremely desparate to win Luena because it may be an indication whether or not the tide in Barotseland has changed against them. It could further divide MMD into those who support RB’s candidature and those who feel he is a major liability to the party. Does MMD have the courage to replace RB with a candidate who can assure a decisive win in 2011, without having to rely on the likes of VJ? Also, no need for so many police in Luena.

  13. Once again the inadequacies of the Zambian constitution have been exposed, the rich and powerful have been let loose to prey on the weak and poor. Milupi has no business ‘creating’ a by-election when clearly he still holds the sit as an independent. If what he wants is a ministerial job ,he cld still get one without standing on the MMD ticket, as an independent he can align his allegiance to which ever party he wants without reprimand from any politician except the electorate (hence no need to waste resources on an election we dont need). The poor and illiterate majority especially in the deep rural areas will continue to suffer in the long term as a consequence of their uninformed votes. May the Lord have mercy on my country

  14. Finally we are back to dissing each other based on tribe. Bemba tonga feud back again with the post as fight sponsers but seated in the bemba corner. Cry the beloved country.

  15. #21 conman…You are spot on. I think the Post need to be watched, they may drag the country into unnecessary tensions. If PF fields in Luapula and Northen its OK if UPND fields in Southern and Western then its Bantustan…..the post is becoming too predictable.

Its not long when the post tried to argue that Bemba should be a national language!

  16. Dear # 18, you are so right because as an independent or minority he could aligned himself whichever side he want. But,what if he has found that non of the parties present his objective or manifesto, what does he do when he thinks he could serve better if he became a president of his own party?

  17. # 5: The moment Mukudya Mweka Daddy (MMD) appears, the shapes and sizes of people in the pics change. MMD apams are waxed in fats (lipids, cholesterol or low density lipoproteins (LDL)! Lungwangwa can’t even open his eyes, the eyelids are too heavy!

  18. This election is so unnecessary, just a waste of resources. I’ll be dissappointed if Milupi retains his seat. Luena is one of the least developed constituencies in the country. For an MP who fails to deliver to his people & even have the courage to cause a deliberate election in order to satisfy his ego, it is sad that he can even draw support from those poor villagers. There should be a clause in the constitution to bar such characters from participating in these elections.

  19. This election was not very necessary. Milupi should have waited for 2011. I guess he is trying to gain some momentum. Word on the street is that though he might win. There are various former NP, UPND, UIP and MMD youth who are eyeing the seat in 2011 and they will not necessary vote or support his party as some families have entrenched agendas in Luena. His openly criticizing some prominent people in the area for publicity will backfire by 2011. At most he might get a government position but definitely three years from now he will not be a factor. Ego and immaturity are a bad mix!! Basopo!

  20. The problem with some of our politicians is that they make a bit of money and believe they are presido material(Milupi, HH, Kavindele, BY, Mulemba etc) and then we have the baffoons that make alot of noise and belive they are presido material(Sata, Mpombo etc). We should not let these big ego chaps to manipulate us. Let leadership be sincere, tried and tested. 2011 the political landscape will be very interesting(many casualties) but the let not Zambia be the biggest loser. This spirit of mediocre leadership has to be rebuked. The spirit pettyness and inferiority complex should be exorcised from luena and from that BIG neighbouring village

  21. wonder wot milupi is proving bcos he will still retain this seat- does that make him presidential material

  22. My many worry is that, why is that in zambia politicians bring fitenge material, buys chibuku, kachasu panshita ya ku Vota? dear politicians we dont want your gifts but work for the betterment of the all nation look at the country today kwati nimu desert…is our country going to be developed mwebantu…?

  23. Miyupi mwaiche sana! Why try to jump mu ring ya bakulu? Uko kwine ba ku chonga. Plus his son has been deported from America. Manage your family first before thinking of zambia. Umukashi na ena ala butuka pa nganda sometimes. Educated kaponya equals villager(You will always be one, ataa chi complex!)
