UPND vow to back MMD in Chifubu

Share

MMD candidate for Chifubu Frank Ngambi is hoisted by cadres during campaigns in Chifubu

THE United Party for National Development (UPND) members in Chifubu Ward in Chifubu Township have pledged to vote for the MMD candidate Frank Ng’ambi in the August 5 Chifubu Constituency by-elections.
The decision comes at a time when Patriotic Front (PF )leader Michael Sata launched a scathing attack against UPND president Hakainde Hichilema putting the future of the pact in serious doubt.

Addresssing a meeting held at Chachitika Lodge in Chifubu Township, Chifubu Ward UPND Chairperson, Pyphius Chibangula said he and his members had decided to back Mr Ng’ambi instead of the PF-UPND pact candidate Susan Kawandami because he was a more credible candidate of the two.

Mr Chibangula who was with most members of his executive committee that included the women’s chairperson Janet Sakala and youth chairperson Darius Mbewe said they were not happy that the pact had fielded Ms Kawandami whom they did not believe could deliver development to the area.

He said it was time the Chifubu Constituency electorate voted for a candidate who would bring development to the area and not vote along party lines.

“We don’t even know what Mrs Kawandami is capable of doing and the PF did not widely consult us on their candidate, because if they had, we could have advised them differently,” Mr Chibangula said.

He said he hoped the other members of UPND in Chifubu Constituency would follow their lead and support Mr Ng’ambi in the upcoming by-election.

Mr Chibangula pledged to bring on board other members of UPND in Chifubu Township.

And MMD Copperbelt taskforce Coordinator Prince Robert Mushili, who is part of the campaign committee for MMD candidate in the Chifubu by-election, has predicted victory for their candidate Mr Ng’ambi.

He said the party in Government was committed to bringing development to Chifubu, which was why the people of constituency would vote for Mr Ng’ambi.

Former PF constituency chairperson and now Masaiti MMD secretary Patrick Zulu said PF was losing ground in the constituency.

“People are beginning to realise what’s going on in the pact. It was borne out of selfishness not to serve the people of Zambia,” he said.

He said time had come for the people of Chifubu Constituency to vote for the MMD, as it was a party with practical development agenda.

  1. NOW TALK MY FRIEND IN THE DIASPORA. THE FRIEND OF THE PACT. SOON MY FRIENDS,YOU WILL KNOW AN IDEA SITUATION AND THE REAL SITUATION.

  2. Waphya Munzi. The pact must address its issues. Ward leaders must consult before making decisions. This is a sad. Development. When HH bragged SATA that he was old fro the presidency, these people did not say anything but now when SATA has answered they are capitalizing on the next by elections. When are the Zambian going to learn to approach thinsg objectively instead of subjectively? Disgrace pa Zambia. What ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Well the SAGA continues. Again I blame the POST newspaper for all this. They seem hell bent to blame UPND for the PACT failure with their sick editorials. What makes them think that SATA will be the best president and what makes them think all Zambians want Sata in Statehouse. The POST will live to regret for all this. They have single handedly trashed the PACT with their short sighted editorials and stories which paint UPND as a tribal, small, insincere and insignificant party. In fact your editorial today is nauseating to say the least. Who told u UPND is having dark corners meetings with MMD?

Anyway good luck with your quest to put SATA in statehouse, but just remember that us as VOTERS have the final say.

  4. #1 Mbeba Tumbu. I really appreciate and respect your opinion. But I think This has nothing to do with people in diaspora. 99% of Zambians in diaspora are doing fine and enjoying. This is about people at home. Zambians we must learn to do things which will bring development to our country and not destroying our country. Some people who have never moved think Zambia is developed but most of our people live in poverty of the stone age. Even countries which have passed through war are much beyond Zambia. Germany was brought to its knees after the II World War but today we are recipients of donations from Germany. We must learn to be objective and working hard and not only about Ad hominem fallacy and Tu Quoque will not develop Zambia.

  5. The post is the root cause of all this nonsanse and I just wish that the PACT must fall and their PF/POST pact lose elections next year so that we shall see who really matters when it comes to voting either it will be the post to vote on behalf of all the Zambians or the voters themselves have the capacity and ability to read and analyse BIASED editorials???

  6. Am sure every disciple of the Cobra, will quickly dismiss this and accuse these Upnd followers as been bought, and paid to break the pact. As his honour the VP G. Kunda has said, the disintergration of this union is nothing short of movie. My condolences to the few who had honest belief in this marriage and shame on those who had banked on accessing national coffers through using your pact partner to attain your selfish needs. All this trauma could have been avoided if the pact had not rushed into this short lived alliance, if from the onset a leader had been identified, than leading your followers to keep believing their favoured man would take the day. The moral of the story is listen to advice when given, what you thought was a strategy is the demise of this union, a leader should have…

  7. HONESTLY I AM NOW GETTING SICK OF ZAMBIAN POLITICS! I AM NOT VOTING OR SUPPORTING ANYBODY! EVERY1 SEEMS TO BE SELFISH AS USUAL! WE NEED ANOTHER CROP OF LEADERS TO LEAD OUR NATION

  8. #5 We are here and we shall talk at an appropriate time and please stop spreading FUD ( Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) about the PACT. Your FUD will take you nowhere.

  9. #5 Mr Capitalist I was thinking the same question especially in regards to the genocidal maniac Kalos 2020 who has been conspicuous in his absence lately. I hope he is not out secretly ordering machetes to fuel violence when Satan is resoundedly beaten next year.

  10. @ #12 Sansakuwa

I totally forgot about the genocidal maniac Kalos2020. I think he might be preparing a place for Mr. Sata to go into exile. After all, Mr. Given Lubinda did say Mr. Sata must go into exile whilst PF thugs ravish hell on innocent Zambian citizens.

“Mr. Lubinda said the PF supporters have since advised their Leader Mr. Sata to go on a self imposed exile so that his supporters are left to directly deal with the ECZ if they attempt to attempt to engineer the 2011 elections.”Zambians will not allow Chiluba, Govt and ECZ to rig 2011 elections – Lubinda, Lusaka Times, May 25th 2010

Yaba, Zambians most definitely need a better opposition.

  11. Drama and opportunism is the order of the day in Zambia! People seem not to know what they really want and can easily be swayed by simple issues or even irrelevant things. Politician are tired and have no more ideas but selfish desires flourish in their minds and so is every Jim and Jack supporting and following them blindly!

  12. The problem of trusting a bemba. Bembas cannot be trusted. HH is quiet and he never attacked Sata when he has been saying he wants to be president. Its good the pact is dead. Bembas have problems thats why they are always stealing.

  13. Like I said yesterday, what UPND and PF have done is tantamount to high treason.

If they don’t their act together, I will be their worst nightmare.

  14. Wafwa Mashika,

Stop accusing Mmembe and his Post editorials alone when Senior Citizen has been a dangerous poison chalice. Who doesn’t know that your very Chief Spin Doctor here Senior Citizen’s provocative sensetional punditry sparked this sad development? The week he dedicated his blogging to inflamatory and dirty tactics of calling the pact a “Horse and Rider relation” is the day hell in the two parties started then 3 days later, Mmembe went into editorials. Sincerely reflect on how inflamantory “Horse and Rider statement is. He categorically said HH, his UPND and the tonga people are Horses for Sata and the Bemba. That was a very dirty and dangerous spin that has opened a cane of historic worms. We should be fair instead of just heaping all the blame on Mmembe alone.

  15. #13 That would be funny if it was not true. Perhaps now it looks like they can not ride on the backs of UPND, PF might actually come up with some credible policies besides insults and the 90 days rubbish. You never know, they might even practice some internal democracy and hold a convention – stranger things have happened.

  16. Fred Mmembe’s sensationalism is no different from that of Senior Citizen punditry. Both of them have proved poison chalice to the pact.

  17. #18 RED CARD

You are entitled to your own opinion and mine is Mmembe is very biassed and he thinks he owns the people of zambia and sometimes acts as the people’s spokes person. We don’t look at issues one sided things must be analysed bothsides and make conclusions based on such facts!!

  18. PF you are so stupid how can you say Bemba cannot be trusted thats why they are always stealing. Waba ubwamba nge tambo yachikwepe mushindila kuchulu. Chikala chobe amatole ngayambushi, waba ukunuka mumatako. I think wafyalilwe mu toilet mabolo yobe

  19. Its time for Political leaders to sit down before their drawing tables and start thinking very critically. For sure PF has a very high likelihood of winning an election with or without any pact considering the outstanding performance of previous elections and the current unofficial rating. UPND is likely to perform better than ever before and is currently better placed than MMD. The latter has done a good job but is almost obsolete. Out of the three parties MMD is the most desperate because people generally want change. HH and Sata have lost control of their parties currently and urgently need to meet.Bye MMD.

  20. When HH came from USA and called a press a conference at the airport saying he was better placed to run for presidency than Sata because Sata was too old, Mr. Sata and PF kept quite and still rallied behind the pact.
UPND on the CB have said if HH wont be selected to lead the pact they will vote for RB. PF have never given such conditions and still support the pact.
The only reaction Mr. Sata gave was asking for sincerity among PF and UPND members regarding the pact and righky condemded secret meeting between MMD and UPND.
Its a pity UPND have now decided to join forces with MMD. For now we can only wait for UPND to make an official annoucement, and wait for the election results.

  21. #6 thank you for your excellent observations and comment. I wish the best. But do you trust Zambian politicians that they can bring change you are writing about? I think we don’t have that group yet. the mindset of our leaders is still far from Servant Leadership which was shown by Germany after ww11.

  22. Now, my views on UPND have proved me right. A simple ward personell making and announcing such decisions and the little HH who is their leader is quiet discussing how he may merge with RB? I guess HH is a hijacker,an oppotunist. Whats this fella’s announcment got to do with the plight of zambians, or change? I thought change would only come from opposition. This is how shallow minded jobseekers like Chibangula manage to sway intelligent bloggers like most of you here. This is not an issue of one person, its about the well being of every zambian out there. Do you wonder why people would opt to rally behind a rulling party, its because they need good political atmosphere for doing their businesses. BY is one, One Sikota and finally HH.VIVA PF

  23. Thanks ICHI NYAMU NYAMU-Certain classes of people cant read between the lines. HH is a bulldozer and a hijacker. He may hijack RB soon! Watch this space.

  24. georgeWbush – I agree with you, HH hijacked UPND from Saki after the death of Andy. MMD may/may not let him do the same, there are some MMD guys with presidential ambitios too, but then none of them are really sellable.

  25. I think Mr Sata is just scared of this young man, yes HH had the right to praise himself or bost of being young, he was just saying the truth and thats what he is, why can’t Sata be proud of his old age and experience which is a plus than talking about each other in the media. And by the way Sata with wisdom and experience because if he was he was going to call the young man (HH) privately to talk to him, and that is if at all he was offended with his remarks. Sata has gone to so many rallies addressing people as when PF forms the next GRZ there will be development e.g Chawama he never refered to the pact and HH never complined of anything, and due to this many people in UPND felt like they are the only one commited to the pact.

  26. Sata is man people. This guy has done the best in his positions held in the public office. Which of these guys can be compared to sata?HH ! You people please has this guy worked in a public office before? Really you just think that because is young he will be like Obama, ah! You must be kidding.
Ok cool let upnd join MMD and see what will happen. First of all do you really think Mr Rupiah Banda will adopt some of his (HH) people as ministers and drop his only friends who have supported him all this time? Guys open your eyes and learn from other parties that supported his exellency Mr Banda. This will be the end of UPND. At one time HH was disrespectiful to Rupiah if I can remember well. Today UPND thinks that MMD will receive them with both hands mwanya u will see.

  27. Many people are missing the bigger picture in this pact, the fact is that people like Winter Kabimba, GBM Mwamba and others in PF see HH as a threat to their chances of presidency when MC Sata gone and they can try their level best to fight him tooth and nail so that they can remain on their own, and to make the matter worse MC Sata confines in these people so much. GBM is the main sponsor of pf and he would want his rewards for his money hence seing HH aspiring to be vice-president for Sata in 2011 threatens him so much. This is the truth and all what people are allerging is just to paint a bad picture at HH so that people can think he is the one who has failed the pact. Once there are hidden agenders you cannot solve anything in life, what is appearing on the surfaceis just propaganda

  28. Ba Sata is a patrotic man and I am very hopeful he will deliver to the expectation of the majority Zambians give him a chance he speaks for the people and has never failed in his duties.
I don’t know him personally but he did well in health and local government in the 90s. He has come out clean from the Chiluba’s GRZ. I think dont try HH until he serves as a deputy.
I am very disappointed we black people are just a problem. We fail to manage a Pact because of tribalism and selfish. Blacks awe mwe

  29. The best UPND can do is to remain intact and stand on their own as a party. Pf alone is not going anywhere as Sata will still win in his usual areas of Lusaka, Copperbelt and parts of Luapula and Northern but this is not Zambia alone, Zambia is all the provinces. Last time when he lost elections he accused upnd for spliting votes for the opposition, these pf people have someone to accuse all the time. The largest opposition party in the country fails to run councils what more when they are in power everything will go bizek in our nation.

  30. People should not avoid reality. PF is the second largest Party in Zambia and UPND is the third largest Part going by the last two presidential elections. In the same vein as UPND took over the presidence of UDA – an alliance of UPND, FDD and UNIP in 2006 due to its being largest among the three, the same aught to happen in the PF-UPND alliance. In fact UPND set a presidence so HH has just to come to reality of the matter. Let him just accept being a vice in the same way Nawakwi, Tilyenji accepted being his vice. Why is he finding it difficulty when his friends did not find it difficulty?

Guys PF and UPND cadres, there is no two-way about the PACT presidency-the largest party takes the presidency period. This happens also in business where the largest share holder becomes boss.

  31. We will crash land on our own, break our own backs, insult each other, support our rivals and eventually break up our Pact on our own. Fortunately we always have HERB, HHGK, HonVJ (and even FJT) and their MMD to blame for everything as we Pact are pure and can do no wrong. We don’t tell lies, we don’t insult, we don’t fornicate, we don’t embarrass each other and we respect fellow citizens. We the PACT!

  32. #34 You do not understand this man Sata when he was in the ministry of health he fared all those junior doctors who went on strike just for good contions of service, we do not forget easily my dear. By 2001 Zambia was grounded to Zero economically because of people like Sata who were at the helm of leadership, they even wanted to extend by breaking the constitution advocating to the third term and this same man was the archtect of all this. Today you can say he is clean because he never signed anywhere e.g the us$27,000 confiscated in south Africa and the distibution of money at the kabwe convertion hence all his atrocities now are falling on people like Katele Kalumba and all those who were directors at the ministry of finance. The man is a crook by nature.

  33. Chomba,

Man face reality, do you mean you wanted HH to be president of the PACT by all means? Yes its logical that in 2006 he was the UDA-PACT presidence because UPND was the largest party of the three but this time PF is the largest party of the Two, so by following UPND precedence, PF has to take the presidency and UPND the vice. This is the fact which can not be altered or avoided. Why is HH finding it difficulty to accept the vice when his friends in 2006 accepted to be under HH?

Mhhhhhh guys let us be real and honest.

  34. #33 Walasa maningi! They cant run councils and their own party is not run on democratic grounds and yet somehow they can bring prosperity to Zambia …….. in 90 days? Surely does anybody believe that a team comprised of Bemba tribalists such as Sata, GBM and Kambwili can develop Zambia in 90 years let alone 90 days?

  35. #cont. HH had already accepted to be vice to Sata but the problem is GBM and Winter Kawimba need this post as well and feel that pf can win elections on their own without upnd. Life all about give and take and HH is a very flexible man indeed, he accepted to serve under Sata for a 5 year term and after that he can take over.

  36. Chomba@39, what you are saying is mere hearsay! Who was the head of the country then? Who has been arrested now? Why cant they arrest Sata for your allegations? If you can arrest Fred for unprooven crimes, can you afford to let Sata take coffee when he made away with all these things you are pilling on him? There has never been a hardworking minister in the ministry of health than Sata? Even if he is not educted. Doctors themselves cant and are busy shooting innocent cadres out there. Everyone is a crook but for Sata, we can count how may things he is crook to. Can you count for kafupi, who led all these guys that are being incacerated including his own wife-You are a dreamer! How do i trust HH, who also participated in the dubious privatisations with Kafupi? He has no track records?

  37. #40 It is as simple as drinking water HH can accept to be the vice, but this is the same post GBM and even Winter Kabimba wants how do you solve that puzzle, hence in such situation Sata can side with his advisors than the outsider HH. Be real to this fact and leave pf propaganda of smearing mud on this young man.

  38. Now we true colours of the UPND are emerging. These guys were pretending to be in the PACT for genuine reasons and yet they wanted to ride on the Back of PF. I think they celebrated at the degree presidential close that Sata were not going to stand. I new all along that these guys wanted to ride on the PF depite them being a small part compared to PF. Genuiene PACT partiners are in the likes of Nawakwi and Tilyenji who accepted to be vices to HH because UPND was the largest party in the pact-UDA. But these guys since they took the presidence of UDA..they mistakenly supposed they would even take that of the PF-UPND pact dispite being smaller party in the pact.
No UPND , things do not work like that. You are a small party just accept being vice.Thats the rule of the game as u did in 2006

  39. Now if HH really wants to avoid Winter & GBM, there must be an MOU. Why did he get in the PACT blindfolded and let the zambian masses into believing that he will rally behind them with the PACT? You see? Does HH allow us time to scrutinise his moves? No. He jumped on Saki, became president-on tribal bases due to MATONGO and his group. He was third and thot if i merge with PF, i may pull good figures because of their popularity-howver, he starts personalising Pact before convestion. Sata has always rallied behind him, i heard him praise him for the interview he made on QFM one day ku Zed. however, HH is selfish, egoistic, selfbeliving and believing none. Show me his friends and i will show you his works.Even the govt through Chifire said they don not know his child hood records. Wamvela!

  40. #43 If Kafupi is such a thief then why did Sata want him to go for a third-term and why did he say he would drop all charges against him extra-judiciously in 2006 when he claimed the charges against Chiluba were tribally based? You can not re-write history to suit yourself my friend. You may want to white-wash Sata’s history but unfortunately for you, not all of us have short memories – we still remember the Chawama violence. We can even go further, Sata was one of the last to jump ship and leave UNIP for MMD. We can not let a man who runs his party as a personal fiefdom to be president of Zambia. Some of us actually appreciate the peace and stability the country has had and value it above all else.

  41. As some one who hails from Northwestern I have my concerns as to Sata`s genuine desire to uphold the unity of the different Zambian ethnic groups and to accord them the respect they deserve. Based on prounouncements attributed to him, this seems to be a man who has a certain kind of arrongance and bigotry, its incumbet upon him to adress some of these worries that some of us have. It should not be the same game next time, we should not continue with the perceived tribalism of the current head of state if Zambia has to come out of slumber and self created poverty. Zambia needs people of vision and a purpose for being in state house.
African leaders get more young when in state houses, other leaders grow old. Wondered why? They work, Obama`s hair getting more grey, he is working for America

  42. #43 you are like those young boys who urinate on the bed and simply because they sleep many he will point a finger on the friend even if everyone around can see that his pants are wet. GRZ works in such a way that you become a culprit if you signed anywhere and Sata is now free because he never signed but his hands are not clean. Sata and friend came up with that privatisation programe to sell companies and not HH. Katele as finance minister released the us$27 000 which was confiscated from Sata by the South African GRZ, and he was not arrested because he held a red Diplomatic passport. As for me I feel embarrassed to have a president who will be followed by interpol, on my dead body. If you pf people do not feel embarassed remain with him as for me am for Rupiah Banda.

  43. SATA IS THE MAIN CAUSER OF ALL THESE PROBLEMS. HH HAS A LOT OF TIME TO DO POLITICS SO IN MY OWN VIEW SATA IS THE ONE WHO WILL LOSE BIG. HIS DAYS ARE NUMBERED AS A POLITICIAN WHEREAS HH HAS JUST ENTERED THE RING AND HE KNOWS VERY WELL THAT SATA CAN NEVER GIVE HIM CHANCE TO RULE ONCE TATA ENTERS THE OFFICE. IT IS UP TO SATA TO ACCEPT THE VP IF AT ALL HE WANTS TO TEST THE POWERS ABOVE. HH HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LOSE HERE, HE HAVE A LOT OF ELECTIONS AHEAD OF HIM TO CONTEST. THIS IS MY OBSERVATION..!

  44. HH..can’t be vice president in the pact…i mean were is sata going to put his right hand men..i.e,, winter, guy, GMB..lubinda
A good point to note is that HH chased lubinda and group from UPND,,, now his at their mercy,, and they donot trust him
    :-?

i don’t what will be the best move for tonga chicken HH:o..KUSHISHITA!

  45. It is really surprising to hear all these nosense from UPND caders. They know in full that PF is the Larger party in the PF-UPND pact and as such PF has to take the presidency and UPND the vice as it is the norm all over the world as we can see it in Great Bratain resently. And all people in Zambia they know about that fact. However it is so worrying that the learned UPND cant face that fact if indeed they went into the PACT heartedly. Me, I see no problem..HH has to be vice and then they should have a MOM to guide them all long till 2016 …and by then HH will be so ripe for presidence. What you have to know guys is the fact that in all political alliances , the smaller party takes the viceship. Even in business it is the same. So why are we pretending to not knowing this fact??

  46. the only good thing is that the mighty PF shall win the Chifubu seat !! VIVA PF VIVA SATA

  47. CHOMBA@49 and SANSAKUWA@47, dont make me laf with you comment! Your naivity speaks volumes. Shall we fold our hands closed just because there is peace? Even when the country is being looted, and indebted at the expense of last minute campagns on the pretext of development? No,,man-grow up. We belong to this country. We can bring change for the better. Countries do not just end up in doll drums in a matter of seconds, Zimbabwe is an example. A powerhouse and breadbusket-where are they? Did you know BOB would ever be like that? Where do you think RB comes from, and where does he go to pay homage-his own birthvilage in Zim not CHADIZA. So,you will continue to dream for RB and we refuse to see zambia get into an abbyss like zimbabwe.

  48. Benjamin Nyatanyau recently said America is a country you can move easily but i will even go worse and say Zambians are people you can fool easily.Whoever thought the pact was going to remain united is a fool and even now when it is crumbling we still have people who think PF and UPND are going to resolve their differences. If Chiluba is a thief then i don’t understand why somebody who stood by his side during the failed 3rd term bid has managed to deceive even the most educated people in the country that he has always been a trustworthy person. Both Sata and Hakainde and their members are *****s and the fact that they have to run to the media to air their grievances shows what kind of politicians you people want to be in charge of the country.Sata is worse than the poison of his nick name

  49. #46 If you expect us to have forgotten who this man is it won’t happen my dear and the more we see him the conservative we become for our nation. In 2008 Sata was more famous to win elections but ZNBC managed to show some of his attrocities then everyone remembered that they almost made a mistake. RB came later on the political scene but he managed to beat your MC Sata due to his past behavour. Expecting people to forget Sata’s past would be like cutting your own flesh. Even in the next election Sata will never win because some people are already injured, those who almost gained confidence in him have lost hope concluding that he is the same sata who chased the Christon Tembos, Nawakwi, Sikota in 2006 and now HH from the pact. Our behavour need to haunt us in some way in life.

  50. #55 Funny you should mention Bob – do you know where the name PF comes from – ZANU-PF and yet you call me naive? Would be good if you were to respond to some of the questions relating to your Satan that I raised – why did he support the one you call a plunderer in his third-term bid and why did he say he would drop all charges against the plunderer if he was elected in 2006? If he is such a democrat, why is there no democracy in the way that PF is run and by the way we are still waiting for the PF report on the councils that they have lamentably failed to run. At least with RB we have results – did you open your eyes and see the bumper harvest that the country has produced in the past year? Are you able to elaborate on what PF’s policy on agriculture is?

  51. #55 I know you belong to the church that worships the cult leader Sata, but to say that he will bring ‘change’ with his dubious history which is there for all and sundry to see is just funny if not tragic. Why cant you open your eyes? The man cant even articulate a point as evidenced when he is interviewed and you expect him to be the one to bring about ‘change’ in Zambia? And you have the audacity to stand on the pulpit and call people ‘naive’? Carry on dreaming for now, but if you are not dead you will wake up and face reality. I pity your myopia, but hey, you have the right to hold your opinions. Just know that for some of us Sata is no no for Zambia and will do everything in our power to convince the Zambian people that he is not the right person to rule the country.

  52. And what we can say as Zambians is that, now we know people who are taking us for granted. Every person is free to associate with who ever he wants…and sice UPND has chosen MMD, they will die with MMD come 2011. I will help campaign against MMD and its partiner..as the people who are stealing zambian tax and donor money. Slowly we are knowing your true colors that what you just want is presidency though you are a smaller party in the PACT. This is being selfish and uncaring for the people of Zambia. You have become blind to reality just because you want to satsfy your egos and allucinations about presidency. When you, were given presidency by the smaller parties you went in with in the Ppact-UDA, today you are denying that fact.

    Selfish people really

  53. I guess if elections were held now, HH would stil come third or may be replaced by Milupi. If we cant forget our history-i.e Sata’s in particular-why does he continue on the second place? HH will never-thats why he cant believe he can make it running own his own except through PACTS. He is the first who started these PACT idealogies and quick to chicken out when the heat gets hot. If you give me another option, i may take it but at the moment-11th hour, do you just expect me to start trusting someone else? How-without anything to show? NO, HH is taking us by ride. He is the one who said Milupi is taken people of Luena on a ride when Milupi opted to stand by a party of his own-now what comes around goes to HH. Criston Tembo just wanted survival, Nawakwi is ok but is busy with her farming…

  54. #55 Yes we need change thats a fact but not in the name of Sata honestly, we cannot change to the worste. What we want is to change to the better and not the worste in the name of Sata because this man and his tendom of thieves destroyed our nation in the past. The man was untouchable even in his house where he was divorcing one woman after another up five can you imagine. The spirit of uniting starts from the smallest unit of a society which is a family, if you can organise your own home then you are able to run a nation. How can all these five women he divorced be bad and he is the perfect one, we do understand one can divorce one due to misunderstandings but not five for God’s sake.

  55. no 57 indeed there are many questions that need to be answered by satana and membe. for all the pontificating by the Post they still have not told us which among the two leaders is a sincere leader because just a few years back they were against sata so much

  56. we need change BUT CHANGE IS NOT SATA, never in a million years. the man has no new ideas, he is just a bully who knows how to talk the language of the kaponya’s who are unfortunately the majority in Lusaka and C/B. Beyond these two provinces sata is useless and not known at all. Even in northern province he only gets votes around kasama and mpika. the rest of the province votes for MMD. in luapula he benefitted from FTJ and thats why the post and sata are scared stiff. they know that FTJ commands a lot of respect and votes in luapula and C/B

  57. Sansakuwa@58, going by you stage name(sangoma), I think you are riding your arugument on hate of an individual. The bumper harvest was just a campaign strategy-we usually have those close to elections-albeit the emphasis is barely on MMD policies-who cares when there is a bumber harvest and the country is being indebted? Billions have been borrowed for national development or MMD campagn? How many times are you pa Zed? The fact remains true that Sata maybe the best candidate at the momenet-RB personally is good but he is surrounded by one KAFUPI the master dribler. In any case Tilyengi has a good manifesto too.
Let me say also that am not arguing about the current govt-there is nothing to argue about-noto. I want to screwdrive into your head your misunderstanding vitiating hearsays.

  58. # Sata can convince people who are myopic like you and I do not blame you for that, I just blame your lack of reasoning. Some of us who have eyes to see and mind to reason will never be cheated by this man. Continue being cheated as we win elections with our reasoning. The fact is when you are known to be bad it is hard to erase it, hence whatever you do everyone just jumps up to say we are not surprised it is that one we know, we thought he has reformed but nothing. Sata will never change, let him just handover pf presidency to someone else. There is no organisation and democracy in his party, sometimes when there is bye-election nominations 3 to 4 people in pf want to file like what happened on the copperbelt in 2006, this shows their poor cordination.

  59. Chomba@62, leadership is no longer about “home”.Even satanists these days are swaying people by their oratory! An example is our churches-they are hesds over heels for one KAFUPI but when it comes to national issues, they are as holy as angels. So its not about that-infact, Even though Sata is not educated-he is married to a medical doctor when many of ’em only have housewives, maids, (thanks to levy-lawyer) and kinderghaten teachers. So dont limit you thinking to one vein of thought ma bro! You will find yourself taking mouse milk one day!

  60. If Chiluba is a thief then Sata is the biggest of all thieves because he was Chiluba’s right hand man and an advisor even for the third term constitution breaking. Sata cannot point a finger at Chiluba today because allergations of corruption were showing in their regime even during the first term of their office and we never saw Sata leaving MMD, actually thats when he became so close to Chiluba untill when he could not pick him to be his successor for 2001 elections and settled on Mwanawasa. Now we know that the man Chiluba had a reason for not picking Sata, because of his character, he even confessed to zambians. If I saw Sata resigning I was going to believe him this time around.

  61. n# 52 ndobo..
mukongo wa nyoko….waba chiyo pa mpumi. get to kno tha co-pals will never rule.
of cos a person of HH, and his Personality can’t be under a G4/ unknown. the best for SATSNA and his
pals if they want to form government is to put HH as a President, failure to that you will kiss it goodbye.
look..HH has nothin to lose u young moron. he have 75+ (-47) years to deal in politics. yo SATA is at risk once this chance is gone. understand things the way they come..

  62. #63 You have not answered the questions I raised about Sata in relation to Chiluba. Why are you behaving in the same way that PF is behaving in relation to the reports on the councils that they run? If you think that MMD is not working or have not made any tangible achievement in the past couple of years, then that is your right. Just remember that the people who have felt the benefits of MMD policies such as rural farmers might not agree with you and also have the right to vote. I visit Zambia very regularly and what I see is a country on the move and people building successful lives. I am sorry if you are not part of that scenario, maybe you need to up your game instead of waiting for a messiah in Sata to make your life more fulfilled. Please answer the questions I have posed to you.

  63. #65 those churches who believe in people who have no good records have their own place in heaven it’s not for us to blame them here on earth. What we are talking about here is lead by example, we know that Chiluba is not a perfect example we make mistakes thats why this time around we do not want to repeat the same mistakes. Banda is well organised, he never gave a pregnance to a sister-in-law only Sata.

  64. We shall keep on complaining about our country while politicians keep changing goal posts depending on the where they fatten the as.s.es most. They’re all same at the end of the day. The pact can as well break right now instead of giving people false hopes and wasting our time.

  65. Now I see why Sata will win next years elections. PF is the only focused opposition party and I can lest assure you Sata will pull a surprise. Dont ever doubt the ability of SATA. PF has grown from strength to strength and the only hindrance has been UPND and these other small opposition parties who have been splitting the vote. Now that UPND is thinking of becoming one with MMD then PF has a better chance of winning. Go PF go.

  66. Guys the pact is dead. Get over it. Satana hit the final nail to pact coffin yesterday with Mmembe helping holding the hammer. Let us move on mafela. HH is 48 years old. Going by the curent trends with Sata to contest at 74/75 Banda at 76, he still gat 75-48 = 27 more years in politics which translates to (2011, 2016, 2021, 2026, 2031, 2036) 6 more electoral contests! So yeah our man gat time on his side like him or not. We gonna continue doing what we does…..Viva HH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. By 2036, if still alone Sata would be way over 100 years in real age terms!

  67. Pliz ba Pact, you are so argumentative even when the facts are bare. Is this the time when you have known that the Pact is a non-starter? Everyone knew from the beginning and told you in clear terms that you were just in a trance and when you come back to life you would find that there was no real Pact after all. Why do you want to waste our precious time on nothing? Imagine we have been debating this for over a year now.

  68. Chomba@69 You are awlays daydreaming and hullicinating-atleast balisambilila ukukuchila nama candidates bobe. G4 but has money, businesses. Who are the degree holders? who have kindergaten teacher wives or maids. I have never seen some presidents travel with their wives–i was shocked when i saw the designers at work pictures last month. It shocked my heard to pulp.
Any way all said and done, lets choose wisely for the betterment of our mother zambia. Without critisism, there would be no change and developmnt or inventions. We would all sit down on our two biological boxes and nurse our plight in poverty. I guess change is good as our world is evolving. RB needs some sort of support from somewhere not within MMD, Dora naeve ani pasa chifine. Sata could do as his mirror, HH is too…

  69. THE campaigns for the Mulwa Ward by-election in Kaoma’s Luampa Constituency were last Wednesday marred by confusion after a mob of suspected UPND cadres allegedly ‘blocked’ labour minister Austin Liato’s motorcade on the road.

  70. Mmd is gettin chifubu en milupi is scoopin luena come 5th august then we wil c u bakabwa ba pact,u are a let down

  71. I hate tribalism and especially the unjustified hate some peple have against Bemba speaking people so please just go ahead and support RB at least he’s one of the bantu botatwe.

  72. With or without the UPND, PF will scoop the Chifubu seat. This is a fact. Let UPND form a pact with MMD and that will be the final resting place for UPND. No one likes MMD and it would be disastrous for UPND to go to bed with MMD. Free advice. You can go ahead and support MMD thugs and test your lost popularity.

  73. But y cant the two pact leaders meet en agree or agree to disolve, instead of statements mu ma paper fro cadres,u make the chief manone en chief lazo shine!

  74. I can only support HH if his own people trust and support him, RB is supported by his own and shows some bit of trust, FTJ too, Levy also, Hech Hech! awe! nakana, gigo mukolomino. He is untrustworthy even to his own -chizyuka and the rest of the Ha ha Ha’s. Thats why he wanted to use PF to help him get some popularity from those areas where he may never ever win for the rest of his life. VIVA MILUPI OR SATA!
HH bbala ng’ombe must get back to farming or consultancy services not leading a 12M packed sweet loving mother Zed. Awe, twakana. He may end up just privatising us all.

  75. The PACT has collapsed because it had no real support among the masses/grassroots in both parties. If the masses believe in a cause they will not allow it to collapse, they will simply change leaders who are found wanting and move on. That is the real secret of MMD’s elephant-like strength, the grassroots, not the leaders I hope PACT and future Pacts have learnt the lesson well, organise your parties bottom to top, not the other way round. Strong parties revolve around the masses and leaders only assist the process, ask old HERB.

  76. Samba Waiona@84. HH is very arrogant-There is no way Sata must call HH for a meeting to resolve anything. The message is clear on the wall. It all started with his (HH)MPs,the three who said will rally behind RB. HH was quiet and am pretty sure he is doing something to merge with MMD now. Mind you the expert VIJAY echoed it a week or so ago. Could be thats the time HH was relocating his allegancy. It would be very unwise for Sata to stealfully try to solve this issue-its better, its a national issue so that all of us see and discuss it and make our on conclusions on who is a traitor or is inconsistency. Any merging must be founded on certain MOU’s which the PACT must have-but UPND think they are being sidelined-why? Inferiority complexy.

  77. That problem with the politics pa Zed is every leader in a political party he or she is power hungry.Everyone wants to be in top position, that is why they end up stealing and not wanting to leave once they are put in power.Rb promised that he wont go for second term, but after spending a few months in state house he decided to change his mind.Miyanda refused to merge with the FDD coz he wanted to be the president,Ba sata differed with kafupi coz kafupi chose Levy for presidence. Now its in the PACT,HH wants to be the president.I wish these political leaders can start thinking of Zed pipo before they think of themselves. We have a big crisis in Zambia and Only god will deliver us.:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j

  78. In life if you dont take chances, you dont progress, some of the comments that are made here definitely indicate a people with no confidence, or so greedy that there is no distinction between right and wrong.
Probably the real question in Zambia, so wrongly addressed in the consititutional proposals is the fact of the presidential powers. In our consititution the president is too poweful for an effective democracy to work.
The sad thing is progressive and honesty and intelligent Zambians in and out of Zambia give up because you are dealing in an environment where people are not thinking big. Why cant we be looking at other people rather than the one`s we have, true democracies are not centred on single people. I believe more caring, intelligent Zambians are there? identify them?

  79. #16 a.ka. PF………FTJ Chiluba, Katele Kalumba, Bede Mphande, Xavier Chungu, Stella Chibanda are not bemba and I dont understand why you refer to people from luapula as bembas coz they are not. They speak languages similar to bemba because they were conquered by the bembas. Bembas are lubas like kaondes while the luapula tribes are lundas. Your continued attacks on the bembas just show your inferiority to the bembas. If the pact breaks off it is HH and his UPND who have more to lose than the PF as we all know that HH is there because he is tonga and nothing else and we are now believing what his tribesman VJ said that they are working together with the MMD.

  80. #Number 76 you Sata has money and businesses, where can he find it when at a time of making money in his youth he was busy humanising and divorcing women. In 2008 the last presidential election he had a lot of debts from people who he promised to payback to when he gets his first salary as a president after winning the polls, we are still aware of that. Thaiwanese also gave him money for favours when he becomes president, what a man without morals. His children are all the time involved in drug trafficking. The man is so poor that at his age he still believes being a president is when you can make money in life because people can work for you. Sata does not even have a farm but the man knows how to organise people for a protest if there is shortage of mealie meal in zambia.

  81. #cont. what kind of a president is this who cannot even plant onion or tomato in his backyard but just shouts louder when things go bad. Sata has no business, PF is sponsored by GBM Mwamba, and he is the only presidential candidate who does not own even a single farm. There is Bamper harvest this year because RB owns a farm and knows something about farming not your Sata who just knows how to consume and does not know how to work for things. Do not talk of Sata having money and businesses, I will agree with you if you talk of him insulting too much, and not being appreciative to someoone who saved his life Mwanawasa. If he had money he was going to go to south

  82. # 91, I honestly wonder which part of Zambia you leave in. Who owns Central Park, Farmers House plc together with Zain Zambian HeadOffice, a chain of Flats in Chilenje Lusaka. Sata equally is one of the major local shareholders of Standard Chartered Bank (Z) Ltd, among others. I must tell you that sata today has much more money than you will ever dream off in your entire life. Much more money that the LAZO and RB put together my friend. Stop showing your ignorance on this blog and get your facts straight.

  83. The worst mistake any right thinking individual can do now is to allign themselves to the rotten MMD. I will not take this statement and why doesn’t MMD understand the statement coming from the two party spokespersons that only Given Lubinda or Charles Kakoma, HH or Sata shoud issue the statements. That guy from Ndola needs to be discplined, and please do not start tosting over this statement because you will be very very disappointed

  84. The statement was sponsored by the MMD, but the Chairman of Chibufu ward has been suspended together with Chairperson for women Janet Sakala, it is not PF but the UPND. All these are schemes by the MMD to disturbilise the PACT but people of Zambia let us be level headed. You are lucky some of you that you have computers at home or in offices and able to contributed while sipping a cup of hot coffee. But think of those people who have got nothing to eat, coruption is the order of the day. Zambia is not poor, the country is blessed with the minerals, good water and rain pattern. But look the way our people are living in POVERTY. This is the reason why some of you in the Diaspora you able to say 99% are living well, because you have ran away from misery in your country. Shame

  85. # 6 you are right, it’s the people back home who will suffer if they don’t stand up and show that with or without MMD/UPND pact they can still ouster the lazos out of office, the power is in the people.

    BROWN EVELOPES AT PLAY……

  86. If this is true this is the real meaning of the word Political Prositution and UPND is Politically Mastur.bating! This is so childish. Members of the PACT are fighting each other in the press. Its like always arguing with your wife in public, nothing can be resolved coz outsiders will make one feel the other is more right. Go to the bedroom, fack & come out as a stronger unit to the public. Ama.tole.

  87. Good Evening

We all know that the process of government-formation in African countries has always been coupled with tribal tensions. The fact that each tribal group closely identifies itself with it’s respective tribesmen is vividly clear on this forum.

The new generation of African intellectuals could learn from Germany, Japan, and to some extent Italy, where the process of nation-state building has passed through ethnic differences but eventually come out with a strong emphasis on the concept of national unity.

With our concept of “One Zambia, One Nation”, a firm foundation was already laid by our freedom fighters – Dr. Kaunda being the patriarch. We have none but ourselves to blame if we go wrong…

God bless Mother Zambia & Happy Weekend all!

  88. Haha hehe ho ho…now we know how shallow minded these UPND cadres are. Just listen to their contributions…to them only HH must tke he PF-UPND pact presidency. If not so then they support MMD. Mhhhh guys, I thought UPND had very enlightened cadres but alass I were wrong? Their thinking is being laughed at by well meaning Zambians and I think if they are not carefull this marks the distruction of UPND coz well meaning Zambians wil not support them.

It seems they have a very terrible problem with facing the factua reaity on the ground that UPND is smaller than PF and hence UPND has to take the vice in accordance with political norms.

But since they want very much to ride on PF they have opted to be vice in a MMD-UPND pact. What is the meaning of these on the part of PND?

    Mhhh.

  89. Disband pact, say Mukuni, ZCTU

THE Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) and a traditional leader have called on the PF/UPND Pact to disband and concentrate on building their individual political parties.
ZCTU vice-president Sam Phiri urged the pact formed by the United Party for National Development and the Patriotic Front (PF) to quickly wind up and concentrate on building their individual parties instead of pretending.
But UPND president Hakainde Hichilema said PF leader Michael Sata’s allegations that he (Mr Hichilema) was trying to diminish his (Mr Sata) chances to run for Republican presidency on account of age, could only be addressed through the laid down management party structures.

  90. Senior Chief Mukuni of the Teka Leya people of Kazungula District in Southern Province said the only survival of the UPND from extinction is forming an alliance or joining the ruling MMD.
And Mr Phiri said the attacks by Mr Sata on his UPND partner, Hakainde Hichilema were so loud coming barely two months after Mr Hichilema said Mr Sata was too old to lead Zambia.
Mr Phiri said while Zambians were clear that the pact had never existed in real terms, leaders in the two political groupings should avoid cheating themselves because time was fast running out for them to reorganise.
“This issue is very simple and clear. People should avoid pretending because the pact is simply non-existent,” Mr Phiri said.
ZCTU secretary Roy Mwaba said in a separate interview that there was no proper…

  91. ZCTU secretary Roy Mwaba said in a separate interview that there was no proper transition from running the two parties as single entities to the pact.
Mr Mwaba said Zambians expected the UPND and PF to hold separate national conventions to consult their members before announcing the formation of the pact but simply went ahead without considering factors on the ground.
Mr Mwaba said the leaders of UPND and PF had their own following who should have been consulted in detail and the policies harmonised before the pact was announced.
He said the pact was similar to the reconciliation between Mr Sata and late President Levy Mwanawasa since it also failed to go far after the death of the president.

  92. Mr Mwaba said the details of reconciliation were kept secretly and as such, the reconciliation could not filter to other people when the president died.
Mr Hichilema saidt he could not respond to matters of that nature through the media.
And UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma, said he was not able to comment on matters bordering on their party leader, as a matter of hierarchy.
He said that all concerns of the UPND-PF Pact should be channeled through the Joint National Council (JNC) which he said would be able to address the matters effectively.
And Mazabuka central UPND MP, Garry Nkombo said the PF and UPND were separate parties.
He however said that the two parties were not in any competition of any kind.

  93. “We are a democracy, and our two parties are not in any kind of competition, and when decisions are made on a candidate the fundamentals still remain the same, and both parties will respect the decision made,” he said.
Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya people of Kazungula District in Southern Province said the only survival of the UPND from extinction is forming an alliance or joining the ruling MMD.
Chief Mukuni said in an interview yesterday that supporting the MMD was the only option the opposition UPND had because the opposition political party had been reduced to nothing after forming the pact with the PF.
He said because of what had happened between the two opposition political parties, some people of Southern Province had lost confidence and trust in the UPND thus resorting to…

  94. “Joining or forming an alliance with the MMD has been the cry of some people in Southern Province because the pact has proved that it does not have a future,” Chief Mukuni said.
Chief Mukuni who was commenting on PF leader’s scathing attacks on his pact counterpart Hakainde Hichilema for attempting to diminish his chances to run Republican presidency, said Mr Hichilema never listened to the voice of reason when he decided to form the pact with the PF.

  95. He said some UPND members and supporters did not want to form a pact with the PF because Mr Sata is alleged to have influenced UPND founding leader late Anderson Mazoka’s exit from the MMD.
Chief Mukuni alleged that Mr Mazoka left the MMD before forming UPND soon after Mr Sata blocked him from contesting as Bauleni constituency chairperson.
He said Mr Sata wanted Mr Mazoka to contest a position at a lower organ.
Chief Mukuni claimed Mr Hichilema was paying for his ‘sin’ of forming a pact with Mr Sata who could not have embraced him.

  96. He said many people advised Mr Hichilema that Mr Sata was a sell out and could not be trusted but he never heeded advice.
National Institution for Citizen Awareness chairperson Kelvin Sampa said the failure by the pact leaders to accept and trust each other justifies why the two leaders should not be voted into power because they did not have the heart for the citizens.
Mr Sampa said no solution to some of the challenges Zambia was facing could come from the two pact leaders when they had failed to manage their parties exhibited by their actions of alleged selfishness.
“What could you expect from a party that cannot resolve problems such as candidature issue, what then can they do with challenging national issues,” Mr Sampa said.

  97. HH accepted a long time ago to be Sata’s deputy, but the problem or the hidden fact is that GBM and Winter Kawimbe do not want to lose this post to an outsider like HH. GBM is the main sponsor of PF and the party really depends on him now that Kapoko is arrested and facing charges for his criminal activities at ministry of healthy, and he cannot accept to lose vice presidency to someone, and mind you this man is Sata’s right hand man. Even this ignorant who is saying farmers house belongs to Sata stop exposing your blindness on this blog. it belongs to GBM pf is just operating from there the way MMD use to use those offices when they were in good boots with GBM Mwamba. If Sata was rich why was he worth ZK 700 million in 2006 which is a cost of an ordinary house in Rhodes Park…

  98. Where is the analysis? Chief said this, ZCTU said this? So what? they have personal opinions and probably self interest at heart and that is understandabble but no reason for any sane analyst to make the judgements being made. Individual Zambians have got own problems and aspirations and I believe are now getting knowledgeable enough to lies and the sweet coating that is Zambian politics.
What is so frustrating is the lack of analysis, vision and this slavery of thought that implies we can only be better off, if other people are worse off than us. For a country with that small population, poverty should not be an issue we should be discussing. People forget in the 60`s Zambia was equal or near per capita to countries such as Malysia and South Africa. Will hell persist in Zambia?

  99. Those who dream of a better Zambia when Sata becomes president forget, thats when it will go to dogs. The man destroyed MMD because of his bad mouth and hunger for leadership, actually Mwanwasa cursed him already that he will never rule Zambia and when you are cursed by some who passed on it comes true. Pf sit down and blame the UPND, us we are on the move to victory in 2011 with Rupiah Banda. Sata is the cause of Chiluba and Katele’s misery as the chief advisor to Chiluba though he never use to sign anywhere in terms of money.

  100. On “ The decision comes at a time when Patriotic Front (PF )leader Michael Sata launched a scathing attack against UPND president Hakainde Hichilema putting the future of the pact in serious doubt… Chifubu Ward UPND Chairperson, Pyphius Chibangula said he and his members had decided to back Mr Ng’ambi instead of the PF-UPND pact candidate Susan Kawandami because he was a more credible candidate of the two” as Maestro, I urge all those pantingly insulting the mighty UPND Team to take a deep breath and then re-assess your ranting.

The UPND Team is just telling the PF-POST alliance that UPND is not going to sit and relax while PF vuvuzela, the POST, demeans UPND president and the rest of the UPND.

Since HH ismore mature than PF/Sata MC, the PACT will succeed.
    _
    Matt…

  101. Can anybody from the different Zambian main politcal parties or those that support them without a question give me a reason for my support or why i need to influence people I know to choose this specific person or party? please dont give me bumper harvest? Shoprite or the new other recent shop? think before you respond and if you have personal opinions not looking at Zambia as a whole then dont waste your time, I am neutral and want the best for people in Zambia and for me to be proud of who I am by origin. I will take your response into account but how also do you ensure those people or party deliver on your beliefs? what influence have you or going to use for a better Zambia for all?
This is for honest people and not paid political bloggers

  102. It would be better to see these two parties working seperately than forcing matters to work together. These people do not trust each other. Pf supporters do not trust HH thinking he moves too fast hence he is a threat, while upnd supporters do not trust Sata as they put him as someone who is not trusted because he cannot keep his word, mind you some of these upnd guys were bitter the way Sata treated Sakwiba Sikota in 2006 when he decided to leave the pact they had formed. Sikota is ULP but he remains part of some upnd supporters. People’s memories are not too short.

  103. For God’s sake I cannot support this pact because they have no agenda for the country, how can they start making up an agenda in power, no direction, no vision at all. They are busy politicking and grabing posts from each other what more when they win elections, it will be chaos at state house. Some pact members like Mushili are stealing money using false pretencies from ministries and I have not head any pact leader condeming it, they are just busy talking about each other in the media. These pact members are just time wasters, do not mind them go MMD GO. I personally never trusted the pact from the beginning because it lacks principles and cordination.

  104. Again issues of vision and what we want achieved not being discussed. Seriously there needs to be serious politcal manifestos that clearly indicate the what? how? when?methods of achievement and no body really wants to discuss these issues which should be central who should be in state house or as a majority party in parliament. HH, Sata, Chiluba, and who ever that is not the whole sum of Zambia. 12 million people and we haven`t got other alternatives?? cant be true? Have you ever wondered that Zambian politcs is not being seved by it`s most caring. intelligent and visionary? People get eaten up by the greedy and you wonder whether it is worth it? But then how does one allow people to live in poverty in a country of natural resource abundance?

  105. #34 you are right I respect your comments. With me whether there will be Pact or no pact I still have confidence that MC Sata Will lead. VIVA PF our party.

  106. I don’t take articles from Times of Zambia seriuosly. The new government should sell off ZNBC, Times of Zambia and Daily Mail as their first act. These institutions are a disgrace. They use tax payers’ money to justify the acts of a corrupt cabal.

  107. The problem is not PACT. Instead the problem is the flawed character of ‘the Zambian’. First of all, the Zambian votes along tribal lines. This means that any self respecting members of UPND cannot vote for Sata and vice versa. Secondly, the Zambian leader is NOT trustworthy. It is impossible for HH and Sata to agree an arrangement whereby they rotate the presidency of the PACT because they do not trust each other. Thirdly, all Zambian politicians are in politics to enrich themselves.

  108. Biblical principles for leadership

For those who aspire to be president know that leadership is:
    1. A matter of time and chance
Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 states “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.”
    2. Promotion is from God
Psalm 75:4-7 “I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a…

  109. 2. Promotion is from God
Psalm 75:4-7 “I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck; for promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
    3. It calls for humility—God rules in the kingdom of men.
Daniel 4:17 “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

  110. PF, just go and hold a convetntion to have democratically elected office bearers before you tell us you are democratic. What is so difficult about a convetion, 10 years in existence no democratic credential?

  111. HH is so mature, its a pity the old man and his cadres are no capable of logical thinking. I had so much hope in the PACT but I think its time for all sane Zambians to move on and rally behind the leadership of one who promises true change, in the man HH. I see PF cadres here are still wallowing in past glory. Hope the titanic will not sink with all of you still on board. That is a timely warning.

  112. Interesting reading. UPND set example when it led UDA, so it should do the same, let PF as majority party to lead! Sata is the man, HH is the man. Opinions. Good to hold, but agony is holding an embossed opinion. I agree with one contribution questioning the wisdom of Sata in using a media to attack his pact partner. Wisdom would have prompted Sata to call HH, go to his home if he is in Lusaka, and discuss with him what he viewed were degrading sentiments. Look how HH responded in the Sunday Post, that’s maturity. HH simply didn’t want to be dragged to discuss Sata’s attcks and other innuendos passed against him through the media. Pipo, let’s not be blinded, let’s objectively analyse the two leaders. It’s not a question of who has more MPs? Let’s see who can made a better leader…

  114. To tell u the truth the pact should put its house in order. Its also indiscipline for UPND branch officials to start uttering statements in the media like that. just because that chap was not adopted and he got money from Frank then he becomes indiscipline. We need the united pact
