‘Fr. Bwalya has a right to express his views’ – Dr. Mtesa

Share

Father Bwalya

Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) says Change Life Zambia Executive Director Father Frank Bwalya should be allowed to freely express his views.

Commenting on Fr. Bwalya’s Intentions to protest on the need for the country to have a new constitution before this year’s elections when parliament resumes sittings, ZED President Dr. Fred Mtesa says the priest has a right to express himself so long it is within the confines of the laws.

Dr. Mtesa also noted that the country needs more democratic laws to govern the electoral process and that calls to have a new constitution before this year’s elections are prudent.

He added that the government will positively respond to the calls for the Zambians and to adopt the Mung’omba draft constitution.

Dr. Mtesa says the Mung’omba draft constitution contains the true aspirations of the Zambian people.

He was speaking in an interview with QFM news.

  1. this chap is drunk..he’s a pf cadre and we should not allow such individuals who are promoting tribalism and one party..he’s being used..we have enough NGOs..

  2. Absolutely!!!
these are issues causing confusion in Arab countries. If MMD continues what they have pursued, they will land this country into the same pathway the Egyptians and others have taken…BE WARNED RB!!!

  4. The mmd cannot allow freedom of expression through the red card or else they be shown the door. The are sponsoring one chap with the white card campaign to take on Father Bwalya. They are dead scared of this man of God.

  5. Indeed everyone has the right to protest or express oneself, including Bwalya, but this must be done within the existing boundaries of the law and without impinging on other people’s rights.

  6. Yes I agree with you #5.
As a citizen we have a duty to say NO to evil things happening around us. If we keep quiet posterity will suffer.
We must learn to support what is right and SAY NO TO unjust systems which will harm us and the future generation.

Father bwalya must be comended for being brave, he is pointing out the real issues that could otherwise HARM the nation today or in future.
Rememeber these guys are doing things to suit them NOW but they are getting Old and will be soon be out of power. what will happen to the future generation? It will cost them dearly and will curse there forefathers for not correcting things in the first place.

  7. @ #4, VOICE OF THE POOR, Well spoken brother. Only someone with no brains can support the mmd. You have hit the nail on the head. Last December I was on the C/belt. Kitwe, Chingola and also visited Mufulira. I tell you these towns look like they are recovering from a war. Infrustructure, buildings, roads, iyo mwandini, its so depressing. I interracted with a lot people and people are really angry with this mmd govt. The people dont want this govt. They are fed up. They want change and change in Zambia in inevitable.

  8. There are a # of things that must be addresed if this country has to transform itself
No matter which president you bring in, they will not perfom to the expectation of the people unless the following is done.
    1. Separation of powers
    2. Independent ECZ and reform laws
    3.Upholding tenets of Socio rights
4.Intro of fast courts for corrupt and abuse of authourity cases
    5.Broaden VAT
    6.UPHOLD mungomba Draft Const
7.Efficient and Quick diversification of the economy
8.Empower Zambians thru. effective land ownership, mining licences and other— land is our capital, minerals is our capital, oil is our capital…these must be given to Zambians so that they could use them to partner with the outsiders who have money as capital—-what is happening is a mess.
    9. Reduce Govt spending etc

  9. Still on the C/belt, you might wonder this is a province that is producing all this copper and yet it still looks dilapidated. The govt should introcude wind fall tax and try to invest this money back into infrustructure development in this province. The investors are repeating too much from our copper and yet they not ploughing back int the local communities. This is saddening indeed.

  10. #8 I salute you …you must have travelled a lot and exposed – IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GROW WITHOUT CHANGE.
Those who can not change their minds can not change anything.
The truth is that life is always at the turning point.
What we all need is progress.
Can we have it without change? We must change and recognize that change is the greatest ally.
The person who never changes his opinion never corrects his mistakes.
The fact is , the road to success is always under construction>>>>>>>
(in this case scenario you can not have the same team, the same thoughts, the same plans, the same know how to managing things for more than 2 decades and expect miracles, you begin to develop a myopic status)

    Impossible!

  11. #8 NSHAMONAPA i have enough brains am sure even better than you but guess what i support the MMD.The MMD has brought a lot of positive changes to our country and we are progressing.Yes you talked to your lazy relative who want more money in their pockets in 90 days as advocated by POWER FAILURE (PF) with it’s demonic forces of FOOLISH BWALYA.That fool’s testestorone level is dangerously high thats why he’s so vicious .So called nsamonapo go to the Mukukus in Pretoria then you will see.

  12. Awe bane ba mmd nabafilwe. They have dne their part and its time up for them. All they do is impose themselves on the people. They have beem rejected.

  13. #13 YAYA, I doubt if you have brains. Just because you are beneficiary of mmd corruption doesnt make you any better. Its only stupid shit people lie you sees any development in Zambia. Is that what you call development. Get life young ass.

  14. This man speaks and preaches peace, justice and he is very intellegent. when i attended one of his conference i was very much inspired. All what he want is a change for the better and I saw something in him, he is politicaly neutral. At his meetings especially the one i attended everyone was happy dispite being UNIP, PF, UPND or FDD. he wasn’t saying vote for PF or FDD no…

  15. What we need right now is a revolution, these ****ing politicians have taken us for granted. Evolution will not take us nowhere. It took the french, british, and americans in what is today famous revolutions to ourst the medieval injustices. And now they are enjoying the fruits of their forefathers. The same is happening to north africa. In zed FTJ the King lives forever. Mwanya bafikala, yo days are numbered.

  16. On the other side, we need to develop the industries for example Agriculture can not develop with this mess we are seing in the imported stuff. our small scale farmers can not grow because of these so called imported stuff. we need to protect the farmers and promote productivity. Look at Kenyan farmers, these are highly developed and they Drive the economy Today…. our economy lies in these small farmers and not the big guys……..we need good policies to hinder certain products coming into this country at a competitive price.
Our manufacturing industry requires a face lift too.. we can do the same on some products and encourage the investors to come here and manufacture and STOP the trading business. Mind you our economy is commodity driven— which is very dangerous

  17. Iwe ka YAYA #13, Talk about issues. I wonder how much your fellow thieves, mmd has given you. Continue licking mmd rectum.

  18. #17 VERY WISE COMMENTS…..
Only those who have not heard fm thing young man Fr Bwalya… he is very wise, intelligent, astonishing, u name them……. he speaks wisdom, he speaks life, he speaks love, he speaks justice, he speaks, EQUITY and Equality, He speaks with purpose and not like the politicians who says this and do the opposite.Example, the Barsaries is meant for the vulnerable, but 99% is given to their children and rich folk…is this fair???
They are servants they give themselves interest free loans obtained thru their masters- PAYE AND THEIR masters which is u and me borrow from the banks at 35%

  19. Terence Findlay – Appointed MMD National Executive Councillor
The Ndola Magistrate Court has convicted suspended ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Copperbelt province chairman, Terence Findlay after finding him guilty of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Findlay 43, has since been sentenced to nine months simple imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of K5 million.
Meanwhile, the same court has acquitted Findlay of the two charges of rape and unlawful possession and distribution of obscene matter.
Findlay was facing charges of rape, unlawful possession and distribution of obscene matter and assault occasioning bodily harm.
Magistrate Phiri explained that the rule regarding sexual offences was that there must be collaboration in the evidence before the court for it to convi

  20. Whoever has even a slight attention of this PRIEST gone bonkus will know that there is something seriously amiss about his mission. Just a look on his face will tell that he has a sneer intention at the back of his mind. This guy for sure does not represent the poor.

  21. #16 NSAMONAPO,YES I HAVE BENETIFED FROM THE MMD GOVERNMENT BY WAY OF A STABLE COUNTRY ,I DO NOT NEED TO LOOK OVER MY SHOULDERS LIKE YOU IN THOSE MIKUKUS OF YOURS WHEN IN ZAMBIA.MY RELATIVES HAVE EARNED RECORD AMOUNTS OF MONEY FROM POSITIVE AGRO POLICIES THE MMD HAS PUT IN PLACE .MY RELATIVES DO NOT WAIT FOR HANDOUTS FROM SOME LUNATIC DELUSIONAL POWER FAILURE(PF) AND HIS ANGELS KA FATHER BWALYA.

  22. This ka “father” is a PF cadre masquerading as a man of God hoodwinking gullible people looking ridiculous in his red attire.
The chap only attends PF rallies, let him not hide behind priesthood,he is as good as Masupa of ICOZ a cadre hiding behind priesthood chokani apa atase

  23. #5 Academic Worrior
Man of God my foot.Mr Bwalya is extorting money from the poor by selling them worthless red cards and you say he’s a man of God?

  24. Just look at the face in the picture above, would you say that this is a face of Priest rather than a conman? This Bwalya is just too political to pass for a genuine peace propagator. It is certainly not wrong to say that he is more interested in politics than the drudge of Priesthood. I guess he knows that Priesthood was really never his calling but politics. Come out and be yourself iwe Bwalya.

  25. Let every Zambian feel free to speak his mind. The MMD thieves are just desperate….but they should know that they are going out this year 2011.

    MMD kuya bebele bane.

  26. I mean, what surprise it would be if he where pictured in Priestly robes, what! But then, we know how that there are many wolves in sheep skin. Deep down his own heart and bones, he knows that he is a wolf. This is so easy to see.

  27. When the “fear factor” wears off in the country we will see a Tunisia/Egypt situation if the voice of the majority is ignored.Hope lessons are being learnt.

  28. all those being cheated of non violence in 2011 by RB look you hearing some of you seeing violence being committed by mmd cadres and RB has never said a word is buzily shouting no the election will be peace.
by then where will be this cadre not to bring violence
do think this doing violence will not do it on election or after
do know they donot want to hear different views
do you know how many friends and relatives are the system of RB
so watch out 2011 unless people make a strong team to defeat the mmd by election or violence if they resolves to that.
Rb is not for peace what he says and does are different things so watchout

  29. VOICE OF THE POOR -Proverb31-8
You raise good points, but what are you doing about them apart from complaing in the press? and wanting GRZ to do everything . I will give you an example of citizen action. When i was in Zambia about 4 months ago i noticed the pawpaws in shopright were all from SA, yet we have full of pawpaws in Zambian markets. I formed a pawpaw association with the marketias in woodlands market and petitioned shopright. we threatened to take the issue to ministerial level and they succumed provided we have good packeging. As of now i personally support that association finacially and hope to solidify the gains we have made when i return on the 16th.
As for Bwalya he is free to express his views, but not incite anarchy among PF kaponyas, that is the problem he has with…

  30. I sometimes wonder where this father fimo-fimo is getting his financial kickbacks/backups in order to remain in the limelight of Zambian politics.. is it some NGO’S???? Where can I find one of these NGO’S in Zambia??…

  31. no 34. THE VOICE OF THE POOR PROVEB 31-8 BY THE FACT THAT HE HAS RAISED UP THESE GOOD POINTS HE IS ALREADY DOING SOMETHING WHICH SOME OF OUR POLITICAL LEADERS HAVE FAILED TO REALISE INSTEAD THEY CONCENTRATE ON CHARACTER ASSASSINATIONS. WHY ARE CAMPAIGNS FULL OF INSULTS INSTEAD OF POINTING OUT REAL ISSUES AFFECTING US AND HOW WE CAN IMPROVE. IF ANY POLITICAL LEADER HAS READ THE POINTS RAISED BY THE VOICE OF THE POOR LET HIM US FOR US.

  32. # 36 Friend of the voice for the poor.
Any body can raise and a lot of bloggers have raised those points. In any case that is why we are supposed to have an opposition, to point out what GRZ is not doing. Instead we have chances and gangsters in opposition who what to be elected not on merit but on tribal grounds. Have you ever heard Sata debating Zambias development ? or talking about development ?
The truth of the matter is in 2 yrs RB has archived high levels of delevering development. Yes not all roads are paved but we are getting there. Zambia bosts a growing middleclass and growing work force. Peasant farmers are a wash with kwacha these days from selling there produce ,it is funny.

  33. Iwe chi YAYA.how much money has MMD paid you for you to say they are doing something.there are a lot of wrong things.stupid zambian.

  34. #34&36 salute you—The parliamentary commities have been informed on several occasions but you know how this contry operates……The desire of our leaders rule for selfish gratification and this is what has cursed the whole world
    Virtually all of the leaders we have today belong to a traditionalist’s ideology;
They are simply persons whose mind is always open to new ideas, provided they are the same OLD ONES…

  35. Ahh at least he Bwalya is earning a living as a man of god by bringing to the fore the issues he wishes to address this includes calling for violence, protest, sit ins red cards and then getting the buck from lost men like Sata…..he cannt touch HH. As for Mutesa we are still waiting for his party to meet and elect him president..let him join us in UPND if he wants a voice and a job…

  36. @ #8 NSHAMONAPO INE

Who is running all those towns in the CB. Isn’t it PF councils. That simply shows PF has failed to run the councils. In Lusaka, they cannot even work on drainage’s. They cant even deal with a simple problem like garbage collection. PF has failed to run the councils.

  37. But zoona ba fr bwalya is a disgrace to the church… he’s even selling his tuma red cards chikamba chakwe. He should resign as a priest to become sata’s bootlicker. it seems he’s more into politics than priesthood. He is truly a wolf in a sheep’s skin.

  38. Fr Bwalya is misleading the nation. I have always wondered what this change Zambia or die is all about, will it continue in the event that Sata took over? Pipo of Zambia and God this guys should not be taken as one who is speaking the words of God and truth. It is said truth without love is no truth at all and love without truth is love at all. He should talk of truth with love. Zambia must change or it will die, lets change our altitudes because imwe bene who are maiking all these comment when in leadership you will become worse. Our change of altitudes will help vote wisely uno mwaka. Fr Frank or Mr. Frank thanks for the data you provide but your fight isnt of love, show some love not just because you are priest, and dont give as the excuse of being on leave chap
