  1. I WAS YOUR STAUNCH SUPPORTER, ALWAYS DEFENDED YOU GEORGE ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT DAY IN DAY OUT YOU ARE DOING NOTHING…DEFENDING YOU IS JUST MAKING UP EXCUSES, YOUR GOV’T IS SERIOUSLY FAILING AND YOU ARE WATCHING! WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE MINISTRIES, YOU ARE HEAD OF GOVERNMENT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT????? PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING

  2. FUEL IS EXPENSIVE, MEALIE MEAL IS EXPENSIVE….ECONOMIC GROWTH IS TAKING US NOWHERE NEAR…AND EVEN WHEN IT TAKES US SOMEWHERE IN THE FUTURE WE’LL HAVE SO MUCH DEBT. WILL PEOPLE PLAY FOOTBALL HUNGRY AND WITHOUT PETROL OR TALKTIME???

  3. how much will it cost to maintain such a stadium per month. South Africa is struggling to keep the standards of the world cup stadia due to high maintenance costs. It costs about 1 million rands a month to maintain the soccer city/ FNB stadium where are we going to get such amounts to maintain ours. lets not just use this stadium as a campaign tool but rather find ways on how to maintain it when it is finished. Stake holders such as FAZ, Ndola city council, and the ministry of sports should be consulted and get their input

  4. a new real stadium for foolish stupid zambians. plz learn to say thank you. You are a poor country who can even build a stadium on your own. You failed thus y the Chinese helped you. ungrateful bastarrrds

  5. # 8 think before you write. do you know the real cost for that stadium. how much have the Zambians paid for this stadium. It is the chinese who are grateful for finding foolish government in Zambia. We have paid the price for failing to use our resources and building a stadium.

  6. #8 Thank you. Please tell them. Bauze!! Can you imagine #6 (Mulungushi Traveller) worries. Why would a starving man worry about a where he’s goona shi.t . Why not worry about where you goona find food first b4 worrying about where to dispose it?

  7. #9(Mulungushi Traveller) Why are you throwing tantrums like that? So you would rather not have a stadium because its expensive to maintain? Or you have problems with the Choncholis and would rather its built by Pabwato?Or we have one which has zero maitenance costs? Ba Mulungushi, capital projects are all expensive to build and manitain. So far what we were told by Levy is that this was a donation from the Chinese. Its a nice structure. Just be happy for your country. For once we have an International Stadium.

  8. Guys, for once appreciate this beautiful-looking stadium. We have never had such before and our stadia have been the laughing stock of Africa. And without China, this would have never come about. You need to have something to be proud about for a change.

  9. #9: walasa sana! These fools have no clue why the chinese did volunteer to help, actually how much money the chinese are getting out of this thing – no transferable skills so that the Zedians can build on in Luanshya etc! Nothing to be proud of tbh.
Listen to the budget speech from UK chancellor and you will appreciate how UK manages to invite investors and manage to keep with with all the taxes accountable! Just go to bbc iplayer and have a good listen!

  10. # 11 dont be fooled, do you think China will just come and build a stadium for free!! Have you looked at the fine print of the contract. Look at the Kasumbalesa border post which was built by the Israelites, it cost them $ 25 million and it will remain their property for the next 25 years. even a simple retail company like shoprite can get away with tax rebates and there you are thanking the chinese for exploiting us.Have you any idea how much land has been given to the chinese? How much copper has been given out. Dont just think as far as your stomach. No wonder Zambia has been sold to foreigners because of hungry pipo like you

  11. # 12-Ba Ricky Bobby naimwe ikalenifye.Ati laughing stock, walishiba stock iwe ? Stock choni.Kwisa wasangile ichoni mu africa chileseka ? ya but bobby.Lol

  12. Zebige naiwe!! ichoni ni “Stork”!!! “Laughing stock”, ni fyo mule ilanga!!

As for those praising the stadium , you should be ashamed of yourselves, to sink so low & praise the chinese, IT IS NOT A GIFT!! We will be paying for it!! I’d rather be PAYING FOR UPGRADING HOSPITALS & ROADS, before jumping to a stadium which I bet You we will NEVER MAINTAIN under this Govt, for all they seem to know is receiving(rather stealing!!) & hoodwinking the public!!

  13. #6, #8 and #10. Guys please! Your way of thinking, as if you’re not matured. Don’t tell me that, South Africa, Germay, England and others were so stupid for wanting to host the World Cup. I wish you knew the profit, those fixed assets bring. This new National Stadium will not only help improve soccer standard in our Country but will also add to our Nation’s economic growth in many ways.

  14. #6, #8 and #10. Guys please! Your way of thinking, as if you’re not matured. Don’t tell me that, South Africa, Germay, England and others were so S.T.U.P.I.D for wanting to host the World Cup. I wish you knew the profit, those fixed assets bring. This new National Stadium will not only help improve soccer standard in our Country but will also add to our Nation’s economic growth in many ways.

  16. Kitwe is the second largest city in Zambia and is more centrally located on the Copperbelt than Ndola. Why has it been denied a stadium? Lusaka is even getting another international stadium in addition to Independence stadium. Even Livingstone which doesn’t even have a single team in the Premie League is going to have an international stadium! Kitwe with its strong football tradition and with legendary and iconiic teams like Nkana and Power is not getting an international stadium!! Is this MMD government sane? And you have George Kunda with the audacity to canvass for our votes in Kitwe!!

  17. How does a good stadium improve the standards of soccer, let alone the economy? It worries when I hear such statements from people who are running the country. I might be wrong can someone help me understand how soccer adminstration, soccer skills, soccer sponsorship in the country will improve because their is a modern stadium in Ndola? How will Zambia’s economic growth improve? Lord help us!!

  18. I fail to understand the role of ministers. wherever theres a grand opening, commisioning etc. Either R.B or Kunder are is there. Sure No Tuma shop nato ni ba Vice president? yesterday ba kunda was opening pick n pay shop at former dunlop shoping complex. what is commece minister doing?

  19. #5 as long as the Middle East crisis continue, the prices of fuel will continue to rise not only in Zambia but through out the world. Countries like Kenya and Tanzania are experiencing the same price hikes.

  20. Ba mbizo.if you are in Kitwe drive to ndola your near by town and watch the games.I am sure you do that whenever they is a match being played at konkola stadium in chililabombwe. Why cry for a new stadium in Kitwe?at times tulebako resonable not ukulalilalila fye.Ndola had stadium since Dag hammarskjold stadium was demolished.(Levy)choose ndola so that lost hey days of that city where restored.Besides Ndola has an airport were commercial planes can land while if it was built in Kitwe
one has to travel another six kilometres.how about hotels there is savoy and mukuba while kitwe it’s only endeinburg. No worries who knows may be arthur davies will be up graded.

    got

  21. I saw the stadium around October last year, it’s a beautiful piece of work! No 6 you have a point. We should always be mindful of maintenance costs. It is still possible to find good looking materials which are reasonably cheap to maintain. Look at our old buildings ie Supreme Court, Cathedral of the Holy Cross, civic center they were built to require minimal maintenance

  22. No Fly Zone,

Spare me your ignorance. Historically, Kitwe has had the larger population than Ndola. In 1960, when Lusaka was given the city status, Kitwe and Lusaka had about the same piopulation, but Lusaka got the nod for city status because it was the capital city. Kitwe was given city status in 1966 and Ndola two years later in 1968. According to Central Statistical Office Analytical Report of 2000 and the more recent preliminary report based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing, Kitwe had a population of 376,124 in 2000; this has has now increased to 522,092 in 2010. Ndola had a population of 374,757 in 2000; its current population is now 455,194. I rest my case.

  23. Logical,

You are missing my point. The centrality of Kitwe works to the advantage of residents of all towns on the Copperbelt. The average distance to Kitwe from any part of the Copperbelt is 49.6 kilometers compared to 74.9 kilometers to Ndola. It would thus be cheaper in terms of transportation costs for fans to travel from any part of the Copperbelt to Kitwe rather than Ndola.

  24. Logical,

For your own information, under the PPP arrangement, the airport in Ndola is to be relocated to a place in Maposa which is nearer to Kitwe. So you can’t use that reason as an advantage Ndola has. Besides Kitwe not only has Edinburgh Hotel but the new ultra – modern Moba Hotel and Conventional Centre. Kitwe also has the advantage of proximity to broadcasting facilities which would facilitate communication if the Zambia hosts the Africa Cup.

  25. sometimes I find Zambians very interesting people. Please find progressive issues to discuss rather than quarrelling over a stadium. This venture is part of our national development. Let’s just think of another way forward – Is it tax relief next?
