Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata has condemned the shooting of a seven year old Boy in Lusaka’s Garden Compound. Mr. Sata says it is regrettable that people are being slaughtered like animals by the police who are supposed to be protecting them. He has called on Zambians to stand up for their rights and liberate themselves.
Drug Enforcement Commission officers on Tuesday shot dead a toddler in Lusaka’s Garden compound during a crack down operation on cannabis traders. A fifteen year old girl equally sustained injuries on the hand during the scuffle that ensued between DEC officers and Garden compound residents. Police Service spokesperson Ndandula Siamana has since revealed that the four officers involved in the shooting have been reprimanded by police.

Indeed the conduct of the december guys must be condemned by all well-meaning Zambians.
We need to respect life. No one has the right to take away life. I would suggest that in all circumstances where law enforcement agents discharge fire arms that result in loss of life, mandatory inquiries be held to ascertain the circumstances and if found unjustifiable, such agents are made to account for their illegal actions.
There has been rampant and needless loss of lives casually linked to firing of guns by trigger happy law enforcement agents
Psi psi psi psi cobra mwana. Viva viva viva SaTa. Viva pf. Nipabwaaaaato mune.
hahaha LT please dont embarass yourself. is a 7 years old a toddler? olokuti you want to chefya the age so that we sympathise more mwati ni so?
It was Friendly Fire naiwe kobola.
Unprofessional conduct by DEC officers.
Too bad from Mongu to Mazabuka and now a young defenseless boy face the wrath of the happy trigger law infringement officers. God help us. What do you expect when they are legalized to use live bullets by their red lipped Kunda?
As much as we appreciate the level of calibre of Police officer’s today, there is still much that needs to be desired and this is a serious cause for concern. We can not continue seen live bullets unleashed on innocent souls that can not defend themselves. I have one observation to make most of this officer’s have no muscle to defend themselves hence the reason why they end up abusing the guns. please let’ s go back to the drawing board and you will recall that things like this never used to happen in the past. Despite the qualification these officers have do they have the muscle enough to withstand the pressure in times like this and uphold the human right to life????
Ba Sata you are so right imagine if it was my son shot…I would never have faith in our law enforcement – ZP hope the law will take its course
We will retrain the police service
@Wala, define a todller
Lives are becoming unsafe in Zambia law enforcement agents are killing people anyhow, can you overhaul the police services,
M.C.Sata apologise the Kanyama fracas condeming others when you have blood on your hands is bad and sinful.
Only disappointing in that Sata did not go further and call for resignations at the head of DEA or even MHA for failing to provide officers proper training.
usless cops… shooting children over chamba? and then the result is they are “reprimanded”? maybe we should change the name of Lusaka to Kinshasa as long as this rubbish goes on. Shame
Awe ba december, u are just becoming useless.
THE OFFICERS MUST BE ARRESTED, not REPRIMANDED. THIS IS NOT A FAILED POLICE STATE WHERE THE POLICE USE ARMS WITH IMPUNITY.
You see in a country where things are going wrong nothing is done correctly. Leadership has failed the people. There is no leadership even in the police service, we are in a big crisis. A child has been left handcapped in western provice, another was killed in garden. Things have just gone bisec.
WE NEED TO CHANGE GOV’T. WE NEED SATA.
Research has shown that 90% of policemen and other law enforcement officers are staunch PF supporters. Maiko Satana, can u discipline your kaponya followers so that they stop shooting innocent kids ? May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. regards, FC
Guy go to youtube and type in the name of the Ghanian president and see how he is tackling corruption in his country hands on. And type in Rupiah banda as well, you will cry
what would we say if residents revolt against officers trying to uphold the moral fibre of society and kills one? Garden resident are notorious and seem to support criminals, no sane person would aim at a 7 year old boy. it is very unfortunate that the kid had to suffer for the sins of his elders who are criminal minded.
these officers have been targets of Drug dealers for a long time and they have suffered from life threatening injuries at the expense of criminals.
shame on you sata, first reason with your head and not ambitions of homosexual intentions.
Read the whole story then condem WHAT PROMPTD THE dec officer to fire his weapon
