A 45- year- old businessman of Luanshya on the Copperbelt has been arrested by Police after he was caught by members of the public defiling a 14- year- old girl in his car.
Copperbelt Police Chief Dr Martin Malama confirmed the development to ZANIS in Kitwe yesterday.
Dr Malama said the incident occurred near the blind center in Luanshya where the named businessman was extracted from his car by alert members of the community.
The Police Chief said defilement was a serious criminal offence and commended members of the community for standing against defilement.
He also disclosed that the Police have recorded 40 cases of defilement in the province from January this year to date.
terrible terrible, why do some men act like animals.Bravo to the people who rescued this little girl.the man should be castrated as he obviously does not know how to use his equipment in the rightful manner.Women lets call for castration for all rapists and defilers.Thats the only way to curb this crime.
Nigerian movies are bad for you. If your business ain’t going well see a business consultant and not a bloody NG’ANGA ..*****!!!!

The law will surely take its course. However, for a girl of 14 to engage into a sexual act in someone’s car, probably this was the umpteenth time she was doing it, likely with different men. Some children in these Zambian communities, including in Luanshya, have a history of using their bodies to earn a living. I recall after the closure of Luanshya mines due to privatisation, families became desperate and prostitution was the order of the day. Not really surprising to me. The governance system and so called economic development needs to benefit all if we are to fight some of these vices.
I have noticed that teenage prostitution is the buzz. And it doesnt only affect poor girls, but more and more well to do kids are doing it. The world is about to end!! And if you are a man and you start thinking with your willy, my friemd, this is what happens.
14years this time is not defilement balekula bwangu abaiche aba..its only indescence because they were doing it in the car…14yrs girls these days they are fully matured…am not supporting the behaviour
Ba business man, bushee ee sebana wikutee
No.5 you twit. So what if the look old enough? That’s not the point. They are still kids.
#5 Ba Dr. Billy, you are 46 yrs old, and you expect your friend Sailos you work with to undress your second born daughter , the 14/15 year old, Jelita?
Bob #3, well said, mate. In fact it is an indicator when you find basic activities that would otherwise be last resorts coming to the fore. Sometimes when I check into Zed lodges as I travel I tend to see what look like underage girls being shunted into rooms by grandpas and daddies for acts similar to these (once next to my room there were shrieks and screams as the act went underway!)… We really need to examine the root causes from an socio-economic point and try to rescue this unfortunate trend. For every one of these things reported there are umpteen more unreported and still going on!
In western countries that 45 years old man could be sentenced to good years in prison and then register him as sex offender period.
In fact I also had one yesterday who looked young, but she claimed she was 19. She really drove me crazy. #9 you cracked my ribs.
Bob @ 3, maybe the kid does that for a living, but it’s the dude who has comitted the crime and it’s him who’s gonna go in.
Kalok @ 9, while the root causes are being examined, don’t ya reckon that the guys doing it should serve time for their mis-deeds?
Copperbelt is now wacky, sex has just become so rampant in many of these towns, eg Ndola has a lot of guest houses which are nothing but brothels and ever booked for short time as early as 9am. I have a solution, ie stop the supply of condoms and ARVs so that these mongrels can die some painful deaths.
The most unfortunate part is that these private parts dont see sizes.

Name this fool and shame him. He probably has a wife and kids at home and goes to church on Sunday. These moral leeches who dare call themselves men. Maggots preying on children that’s what they are.
The police should establish a sex offender list. Anyone caught molesting a child should be photographed and have their picture, address and reg number published publicly into posters and booklets.
Distribute the publications in schools, libraries, churches and newspapers so that everyone knows and stirs clear of these monsters destroying children’s lives
The Kabompo incident is just a small thing to report. Such things are order of the day from Kabompo right up to Lusaka. There are some reports that soon after independence a high ranking Govt official raped his white secrectary in the office. The matter was sat on after the victim and husband where compensated and tits now history. A casual check in at most of the guest houses dotted around the capital and along the line of railway are used as brothels. Its unfortuante that the Kabompo incident has been blown out of proportion. Women who loiter the streets of Lusaka to make their means of living are randomly picked by police officers locked up and in some cases re done and released by 05:00hrs or dropped off at certain points in town. Often these women have complained of some bad eggs in…

#5Â Dr Billy. You’re sick, what a perverted thing to say, what a load of rubbish! Are you normal?
So what if young girls look older than they really are, does that give you and your sick old friend a license to pedophilia. If you can’t chat up somebody your own age, abstain.
The law should severely deal with narrow minded people like you and your sick pervert friend, you make me sick!
# 7, Zizou. Thank you for putting that pervert #5 Dr Billy  in his place, succinctly put.
Is the Copperbelt Police Chief a Medical Doctor of does he hold a PhD?
No.22 He is Medical Doctor
This story has been taken out of proportion. It happened in Eastern Province not Luanshya. I have the facts. The man is not 45 years, he is 75.
And it was carried out by this same man who at the age of 60 dated and defiled Tandiway when she was only 15 years old.
Ricky Bobby # 12, absolutely, absolutely. I think we still have our defilement laws intact (perhaps they were dropped in the rejected constitution). That is another challenge the nation is facing – applying or implementing our laws. We break laws at will but the application of justice is usually at variance because of this phenomenon. I am not sure whether this will in itself call for a new re-look at the dispensing of justice – from the Police to the courts (although I think the courts are trying their bit under very difficult circumstances). The Police not too sure from the recent explosion in cases of misdeeds amongst them…
#23 that is real, this relationship should be investigatedted
Hello No 22 ‘Kasaka’…from what I gather, Dr Martin Malama is a Forensic Scientist who got his PhD in one of the prestigious universties in Scotland here in the UK not so long ago. I hope this satisfies you.
Number 23,are you talking about your grandfater who now lives in Lusaka’s woodlands area with the same girl that was defiled. She got children now
#22 & 26, Before his PhD, the obtained Bsc(HB), MB,ChB at Unza School of Medicine
