Dario Annexes Junior Teams

Share

Dario Bonetti has extended his football realm to the Zambia under-23 team.

Bonetti said at a press briefing in Lusaka today that all men’s youth teams will be under his edict.

“I supervise all national team because I am head coach,” The Italian said. “In future I would want to sit on the bench.”

Bonetto’s proclamation reopens the case of his relationship with under-23 coach Lucky Msiska.

The two fell out over creative differences after the 2010 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Tanzania where Zambia was eliminated by Ethiopia in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, both the senior and Under-23 teams have qualifying engagements during the weekend of June 3-5 in Africa Cup and Olympic qualifiers at home and away respectively.

Bonetti will after facing Mozambique in June at Nchanga Stadium not have any senior team engagement thereafter.

However, the Under-23 will play their return leg Olympic return leg qualifier against Algeria two weeks later at home tentatively set for Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

And so fans will be waiting with baited breath as this will open up the prospect of Bonetti’s involvement in that match.

  1. For him to work with Lucky he must first iron out differences with him and he must allow Lucky to be part of senior team tech bench as well

  2. To all of you Kalushaters: just check the luminaries in Great Kalu’s company below:

ZURICH — Pele will be Franz Beckenbauer’s deputy on a FIFA-appointed team that will recommend ways to improve soccer before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA on Thursday announced a 22-member Task Force Football 2014, which includes World Cup winners Bobby Charlton, Cafu and Christian Karembeu.

Other former players include former AC Milan teammates Demetrio Albertini and Dejan Savicevic, Fernando Hierro and Zambia’s Kalusha Bwalya.

  3. #2 Nobody hates Kalusha and no amount of CAF or indeed FIFA appointments will take away the fact that he haz lamentably failed at the helm of FAZ az administrator. And for your information Kalusha Bwalya remainz the best player(only second to Ucar Godfrey Chitalu) Zambia haz ever produced and we are very proud of that.
I keep saying Lucky Msiska despite being U-23 coach iz still answerable to Dario Bonetti hence the need for the two to harmonize the strained relationship between then for the good of the game. Else FAZ must come in.

  4. Nobody hates Kalusha? After all the bile u have thrown at him all this time? I see the only living jay is flip flopping in his hate for Kalu having noticed this hate is not halting the great man’ s progress

  5. These are Galu’s machinations. This good for nothing Galu is scared that Msiska might take the under 23 guys to the 2012 London olympics. So the ka Galu makes this third rate Italian coach the capo di capi ie boss of bosses so that if the under 23 succeeds Galu can always claim it was the Italian’s work rather than Msiska’s. The rascal. As to the Galu psychophants like #2 be reminded that the Peles, Kaisers, Chaltons are famous because they are world cup winners! What has Kalusha ever won? After all even Argentines are not so fond of one Leo Messi for the simple reason that he has never inspired Argentina like Maradona did in 1986 to win world cup trophy. My question is what has Galu ever won in a Zambian shirt? I am afraid Zambia is still waiting for a football hero.
