Kafulafuta Member of Parliament George Mpombo has said the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) government will lose this year’s election in a similar way that the former UNIP government failed.
Mr. Mpombo says Zambians should never make a mistake of voting for the MMD back into government.
He says if president Banda is given the instruments of power, injustice in the country will rise to higher levels.
The MP,however, stated that the MMD has no chance of winning the elections because of president Banda’s leadership.
Mr. Mpombo added that president Rupiah Banda has no capacity to lead Zambia anymore because of his shoddy deals he has been involved in.
He added that Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata will make a better president than the current government of MMD.
And Mr. Mpombo has stated that it is quite unfortunate that the MMD government has allowed tribal appointments to take root.
He says that it is a pity that most appointments by the president are being based on tribal relationships with president Banda.

To MMD cadres, only Mpombo bounced a check. In fact Mpombo even told Terence Findlay, the Ndola renowned child molester not to deposit the check because he had cash to pay him back. But I find your posting above very shallow & embarrassing, how could you have retrograde amnesia to insinuate Mpombo was fired? Mpombo resigned quietly until MMD started harassing him, that’s when he started hammering back. His case is very different from Mulongoti’s. You can do better than this, have some integrity. Be realistic old man – UNIP lost because that was 1991 and we had a president who had been ruling for over 27 years (Kaunda had been ruling as Prime Minister since 1962 when he moved into the official residence current site/first offices of Celtel/Zain offices). This desire for change was motivated by shortages of essential commodities such as sugar, mealie meal (our staple food), salt,soap, flour (remember toba mutwe?), cooking oil, soft drinks (and even liquor). There were long queues for thesecomodities at state shops such as NIEC, Mwaiseni and ZCBC.On the political front, the former ruling party, UNIP, was really big headed forcing everyone to join.This 1991 scenrio an’t happening.
