Milton Phiri a bitter man’

Share

THE MMD Lusaka task force says former Zambian ambassador to Malawi Milton Phiri is a bitter man because President Banda did not give him a job after campaigning for him during the 2008 presidential elections.

Task force spokesperson Chiwele Maimisa said President Banda refused to give Mr Phiri a job because of his conduct when he served in foreign missions.

Mr Maimisa said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday Mr Phiri is bitter and angry about the decision by President Banda not to give him a job.

He said it is for that reason Mr Phiri has launched a campaign of unwarranted attacks on the President.

“Mr Phiri was hoping to be given a job after the 2008 presidential elections by President Banda, but the president denied him the wish,” Mr Maimisa said.

He said there is no way the President could assign a man of Mr Phiri’s track record to represent the country in foreign missions after the manner in which he allegedly conducted himself while in service.

Mr Maimisa said Mr Phiri should do himself a favour and tell the nation the real reasons he was recalled, and why he has been attacking the President.

“Unfortunately for him, President Banda felt it was morally wrong to give any portfolio to a man of Mr Phiri’s calibre,” Mr Maimisa said.

He said Mr Phiri’s attacks on President Banda are also a direct attack on the Judiciary, an institution which scrutinises aspiring presidential candidates in the country.

He urged Mr Phiri to desist from attacking the President who was constitutionally elected into office.

Mr Maimisa said Mr Phiri is a disgruntled and vengeful man who wants to discredit President Banda by attacking him in the media.

“Mr Phiri’s attacks on the President are demeaning the judiciary, which is mandated to screen presidential aspirants before elections,” Mr Phiri said.

“It’s like he is saying that the judiciary did not do their job by allowing President Banda to stand for the presidency,” Mr Maimisa said.

  1. Chiwelewele Maimisa just shut up. We all know our judiciary is full of corrupt judges, was it not Ngulube who was forced out and Chief Justice after being found wallowing in Chabala Kafupi Chiluba’s stinking pocket? Was it also not Annel Silungwe who was forced out for illegally freeing Kaunda’s son who killed Tabeth Mwanza in cold blood. The judgements of Phillip Musonda and Chinyama stink of corruption so do not talk about integrity of our judiciary because all they are is just a bunch of janjaweeds for the executive. What we also all know is that Banda’s mother is from Malawi under Chief Mberwa. He was also born in Rhodesia, Gwada to be specific. We’ll see how he will file his papers this time. Wina azalila.

  2. In the EYES of the Post and some catholic priests it is OK to call others FOOLS, STUPID but it is not ok to call SATA FOOLISH. In the EYES of the Post Mr. Sata is the MOST WISEST man in Zambia, if not the whole world. In the EYES of the Post, NO one in Zambia should dare TALK about Mr. Sata`s history because doing so is as good as having sex with a female minor. In the EYES of the POST, PF is the only party that should rule Zambia this year evenif it means bringging war among Zambians. That is the POST for you my dear.

  3. these people wants to hold to power for long but they dont realize that thez jobs are not permanent..so Mr phiri u have had enough in malawi and learn to appreciate.

  4. RB should just own up and tell the Zambians the Gospel truth about his parentage! Phiri may be bitterb but we need straight answer from RB himself and not his cadres.

  5. Whether he is bitter or not the truth must about the president must be known by Zambians. If the judiciary is indirectly attacked for doing a bad job, so what? Who says the judiciary is above criticism? This cadre must just shut up and quietly enjoy the crumbs that are falling from the tables of his bosses.

  6. No.3,how could FTJ fire this chap for an adulterous affair when he himself was busy doing another man’s wife who is today his wife!!double standards of kafupi!!!

  7. DONT BLAME HIM, JUST SHOW US YOUR PAPERS AND EXPLAIN HOW YOU MANAGED TO FILE IN THE NOMINATIONS.

  8. The issue is not about Mr Phiri being bitter but rather wether there is merit in what he is saying. So let the President address the question of his nationality in the context of qualification for office of the Presidency with regard to provisions of the constitution.

  9. and we are happy to have such a constitution just cooked to suit chiluba. 90% candidates in the near future will be mixed cut and you tell me no one will zed just becoz of parents origin? let the president be simply a LAW abiding citizen with a proven track record of good service to govt or private sector. No one must be victimized based on parentage. the person vying for president must be told to make an oath that should he break any law, he will dance to its tune and not just say we cannot sue the sitting president, surely even when you know that this chap is messing up, you still want to quote a dictatorial const left by KK, who never wanted to be challenged? such laws must be repealed for ever and ever

  10. It is a shame for each one of them is acusing the other of criminal activities, but the other has used his powerful office to extinguish the other. This is when we need a strong constitution to clean up this mess. All these guys could be crooks, and we know that crooks cannot clean themselves on their own. We a need an institution, independent to clean up this vomit.

  11. Iwe Maimisa, you don’t even know anything abou RB’s background. How can you appoint yourself his spokesperson? Where did RB’s mother come from if you know him? Zinopindurana eh!! Let RB swear the truth to the Chief Justice for himself.

  12. Number one uli cipuba. the subject is not Phiri. The subject is the current constitution which is the supreme law of the country Zed. Did RB lie to the Chief Justice about his parentage or not. If he lied, therefore he should not be president period.

Number 1, protect yourself and Zambia by protecting the constitution. Banda is supposed to be the number 1 protector of the constitution.

  13. What if Banda replies, by word of mouth, that his parents are Zambians – how does one prove that they are not Zambians? How about some supposed popular opposition leader, whose middle name is supposedly not Chilufya but Zondwa, someone said he is Tanzanian? When he answers by word of mouth, how do you prove that his parentage is actually Zambian? It is difficult to resolve these issues. The Supreme Court ruling on Chiluba’s parentage highlighted the difficulties inherent in determining parentage citizenship where there are no definitive records. Just be careful guys, this could turn around and point towards Mbeya ka! You cannot know with these things.

  14. # 11…the topic is “Militon Phiri a bitter Man” so i dont kno why u say the subject is not about phiri but its on constituition..i wonder which school u went to and wheather u r illiterate or literate bcoz u can write but u cant read,,failing to know the subject at hand?. u are the myopic people with malaise in brain reasoning we talk about here commenting blindly.. i think u are the frustrated PF cadres who have no direction in life.

  15. # 8 you are correct. All this condemnation of Mr.Phiri does not answer the allegations levelled against Rupiah. What will settle the dust is for rupiah to prove to the nation that his solemn declaration was done conscientiously without any fraudulent intent…chapwa… The same applies to the arms deal allegations by Hon. George Mpombo…we just want real answers

  16. ViVA RB, these pipo are now very scared that RB has won the Presidential elections. Every sensible person can see that RB has won. When you are doing you are aforiegner. It is very easy to say that. VIVA RB. WIN WIN. Loose Loose fi satana

  17. # 2 Tom Li
Thanks for your observation on Post news paper edition. May I rub salt on the wound. The post news paper is fighting the anyone ruling the country + some ministers. This same Sata was post news paper’s greatest enemy when Sata was a government officer. Now that he is in the opposition, he walks hand in hand with the post news papers. Forgetting that they were FOES in the 90s :d
