Movement for Multiparty Democracy(MMD) Deputy National Secreatry Chembe Nyangu has dispelled allegations that government is funding the ruling party’s campaign activities ahead of the 2011 polls.

Mr. Nyangu said assertions that the ruling party was using government resources to finance its political campaigns in this year were untrue.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that former Kafue constituency parliamentarian Bob Sichinga’s accusations are baseless.

Mr. Sichinga is according to media reports to have stated that the MMD was abusing government resources to fund the MMD campaigns ahead of the 2011 tripartite elections.

However, the MMD Deputy Secretary general said his party is greatly dismayed with Mr Sichinga’s assertions, warning him to desist misleading the Zambian.

He challenged Mr.Sichinga to show evidence to the general public so that the the law could take its course.

Mr. Nyangu said Mr Sichinga knows very well how government operates adding that the ruling party has it’s money for it’s campaigns not as reported in the media.

” Mr Sichinga is a bitter man who has never worked in Government in all his political career because of aligning himself with the opposition political parties which will never win any election, ” he said.

Mr. Nyangu lameneted that Mr Sichinga is a desperate politician who has joined the Patriotic Front hoping that the opposition party will win this year’s elections .

He stated that it was wishing thinking by any one to believe that the PF will ever rule this country because it has no economic agenda to improve the well being of all Zambians.

Mr. Ngangu noted that Zambians has seen what President Rupiah Banda has done for this country to deserve to be re-elected during this year’s elections.

  1. Well, it is simple. To dispel Sichinga’s allegations, let MMD give the source of their campaign money.

  2. What amazes me is how these MMD and Government talk like they teasing or mocking the nation. They make it seem like people, the electorates and opposition is jealousy of them. How can your employer be bitter or jealousy of the employee? The problem is the plunder mentality enshrined in the MMD and Government officials. It is like they are telling you that, yes, look at us, we are plundering the economy and you cannot. Oho! If Sichinga is really bitter, I think it is millions of Zambians who are like him. He is not alone in this bitterness.

  3. Who is suppose to prove the allegation ? Is it mmd or sichinga ? Ba sichinga , it common knowledge u are ba sebele to sata and obvious to boost economical status of your family , u ve to support ur sebele sata . Ur support for sata speaks enough volume of who ll be the next president . U are known to be always in the opposition so its either mmd or upnd for grz .

  4. it’s that time of the year again when such stories become fertile among losers. in 2008 pf chased a truck carrying lamps for the polling stations thinking it was ballot papers. and the transporters allowed pf cadres to follow it all the way to lusaka, only to find lamps, how stup.id some people become during election time!

  5. aaah rb, yesterday you had little copper, today you have smart roads, hospitals, mobile hospitals, massive copper export, bumper maize harvest – waba kuti? no mwaice sata, i played it smart, i encouraged foreign direct investment and local businesses and when they grew i taxed them and built roads and schools. kuzisankila yowina mwaiche, not ifyo fima 90 days more money in your pockets.

  7. #1, No,Sichinga should prove his allegations. Thats how law works, unfortunately. I mean we do not know who funds UPND, PF or any other party just as is the case with MMD.

  8. # 8, Njikata, yes it is like that in legal battles, but these are political battles. The accused must always prove themselves innocent or else it sticks. In politics it is always who spoke first and who spoke fast. The judge in these battles is the masses and never do they apply any legal manoeuvrings to satisfy their perceptions about one’s political behavior. If the accused is silent, it becomes the truth. Believe me, I know what you are talking about, the burden of proof being on the accuser, but believe me again, in politics, it is opposite.

  9. True he who alleges must prove… the family tree is already set, what more if you give them a little more power in state house? No thanx lets keep the old man who is already there, no another liability, please.

  10. # 9 in civilised politics, the one speaking first is expected to lay facts and not just speak like a populist. In politics of the jungle which we would like to move away from what you state could be the norm. Time to change baba.

  11. Your statement on #10 says it all. There is no need to waste my minute on responding on your so called civilized politics when few days ago you spent relentless hours, days and weeks on smearing Hon Sata about homosexuality. You accused him and you wanted him to prove that he does not support such. That is how civilized MMD is. Wackos.

  12. ba kalos2121 naimwe, mr sata said it himself. let me refresh your memory, the danish journalists did not ask mr sata about gay rights, they asked him about chinese investment and off he went off tangent as usual unleashing a secret that he had kept closely guarded. mr sata did not have to prove anything, we were simply making our feelings on gays rights known and that we would not want to be ruled by homosexual leaning leaders. i can’t see the comparison with sichinga’s statement, just answer @11 mrs pretty, why are you skirting the question? but as usual your reasoning is difficult to understand, you must be a superhuman whom we normals can’t understand.

  13. Does Nyangu really understand the meaning of “a bitter man”? I very much doubt it! This is just like expecting Dora to understand the meaning of Nullity, it’s harder than playing pool with a rope.

  14. I wish Chembe and some of the bloggers here like #18 and 19 could read this this story again now that PF ans Sata have won
