SESTUZ praise state for the teacher deployment.

The Secondary School Teachers Union of Zambia (SESTUZ) has commended government for recruiting over 4, 900 teachers across the country.

SESTUZ President Nyambe Sefulo says the move taken by government will help reduce the abnormal workload being experienced by teachers.

In an interview with QFM, Mr. Sefulo observed that it is gratifying to note that rural areas have been given top preference in the posting of teachers.

He has since urged government to accelerate the payment of settling in allowances to teachers to avoid unnecessary suffering in their new areas of deployment.

Government, through the ministry of education has recruited over 4, 900 teachers in both high schools and basic schools across the country.

  1. A working government indeed.Action orientated not fake promises.Real action,real results.

  2. The government said it will recruit 5000 teachers but why do they recruit less the number mentioned

  3. Misplaced praises! How do you praise someone for doing what they supposed to do? We pay school fees so that our children can go to school and learn  from good teachers. When the teachers are absent for long periods and the pupils are behind in their work, the union makes no comment even when the exam results are poor due their members negligence. We need to start to evaluate the performance of each teacher by results and overall attendance per year. Maybe some sanity can come back to our schools. Praising the government is wrong, this is public money at stake, we need quality teachers, and it is their job to provide them.

  4. working govt has done it again, atleast pipo have jobs after being at the collegues for too long and just waiting at their homes

  5. I’m not hapy with what is going on.Many Zambians have sacrificed to go for further studies on self sponsorship but this is not having any impact on the individual. Many have already gotten degrees bt no upgrading. Many are still on the same scale at Basic Schools.SESTUZ please, you deserve these members.Do something now.
