RB to hand over houses

Share

President Rupiah Banda will soon hand over 60 houses for police officers in Kasama.

The houses are the last batch constructed under the police housing scheme rolled out in Ndola, Livingstone, Chipata and Kasama.

Home Affairs Minister Mkhondo Lungu revealed in parliament on Wednesday.

Mr Lungu was presenting a ministerial statement on the housing scheme for police officers.

Mr Lungu told the house that President Banda has already commissioned the houses for police officers in Chipata, Livingstone and Ndola.

The Ministers told parliament that 2-hundred and 80 houses were constructed in Ndola, 68 in Livingstone and 92 in Chipata.

Mr Lungu says government is aware that there is need to construct more houses for police officers in other parts of the country.

He told the house that government is deeply concerned with the dilapidated housing infrastructure in police camps.

Mr Lungu says government will this year embark on constructing houses for Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC officers.

He says government will also put up the Ministry of Home Affairs’ office complex and Immigration Department offices.

  1. In every democracy (including USA) the incumbent should simply deliver. That is expected of him/her. Look at Obama swinging his focus to “jobs.” No one calls that bribery! Let RB deliver, after all the people who voted for him are the beneficiaries

  2. Am not sure it’s anything to write home about. These houses are not personal but Institutional houses, and wonder why MMD did not build any Institutional houses for the 20 years the’ve been in Office. My expection is MMD had a plan to build more houses since the LAZO sold all which were there at that time. VIVA PABWATOOOOOO

  3. @3 mukabe, and where was mr sata during those twenty years of mmd rule? didn’t he spend half of that time as chief defender of mmd? isn’t he the one who caused levy to resign because of corruption by mr sata? wasn’t he comfortable and happy in mmd? didn’t he only leave mmd because no one in that party thought that mr sata was presidential material? answer just these few questions for everybody’s benefit, and then spend the rest of your night reflecting on your stu.pidity.

    • At local government he cleaned up Lusaka, and brought sanity to the councils and Councillors were put in their place they realised they were elected not appointed. At Minister of Health he cleaned up and reformed the local hospitals including national health stores, and he decongested the mortuaries, during the first term of Big Fred we hailed him as an action man. He Started and commissioned the Avondale housing project under UNIP, He has led the PF from a single parliament sit in 2001 to be the biggest opposition in Zambia. And no he was not in MMD for twenty years.

  4. # 4 You probably be more suited to identify yourself by ‘MMD government’ instead of ‘PF government’ As for whether Sata is presidential material or not people of Zambia will decide.

  5. meanwhile the time to decide who will be the republican president for the next 5 yrs is just a metre away.

  6. Hand over or commission even the air that Zambians breath, the people have already decided. Moreover, Kasama is a no go area for your mmd so, these last minute Potmkin developments, commissionings or handovers will not sway peoples minds.

  7. MR SATA hasn’t spent 20yrs with MMD. Been defence minister, minister without potifolio, minister of health etc the posts MR SATA held when in government is not the responsibility of building houses for policemen, as u know our president has the capacity to do anything even out of their scope of work. Mr SATA hasn’t been president of Zambia to build houses for people, if that’s what u want vote for the man of actions MC SATA, PF pa bwatoooo!!!! Blame those who are in that department or who were coz they ran away from there responsibilties, that why there is specialisation in a work place. thank you

  8. RB is trying to buy the police to back him when he loses the election…. tell me Sir have they all pledge allegiance to you as the Generals did… I thought the pledge is supposed to be in the defense of the country and not to a single individual… RB no matter how much house you give away the Zambian people will not be fooled this time…

  9. # 5 Amyama. You are right Zambians will decide as they decided in 2006 and 2008. Sata is not presidential material. Thats why he is on his knees begghing for the restoration of the pact. Sata could have been the Plot 1 resident had he not started the rather stupid tribe card. One thing that I love about my country is the diversity. 73 tribes to please before one can be president.

  10. Nafuti Nafuti nafuti nafuti………bika bika bika. TWE TWE TWE TWE TWE TWE TWE TWE ……benangu baza kanya !

  11. No. 4 MMD has just missed the point. First they had a LAZO for a president, now they’ve this Jocker for a president again. What the police need are not Institution houses which were one leaves the police service vacates. What they need rather is a government which will pay them decent wages so they can build there own houses. If that’s too much for you to comprehend, that’s what Sata and the PF government will bring to the fold.

po Now regarding the people of Zambia
    ;)

  12. No. 9 – The people have decided, and it’s PVT this year. Whoever thinks he will stand in the way of the Zambians will be crushed. We’re matching on and will reclaim this land

  13. #8 but even @ the ministry of health where this man served no single toilet was constructed by him and chilenje mezaf flats looks like they where done before colonial rule, what corruption can do.
