Estranged MMD Katuba Member of Parliament, Jonas Shakafuswa has rejoined the opposition UPND.
Mr. Shakafuswa, who was Deputy Minister of Finance but was fired by President Rupiah Banda, is a former UPND member, who defected to the MMD in 2006.
Announcing his defection, Mr Shakafuswa has explained that he had a torrid time in the MMD under President Banda.
Meanwhile, Independent Dundumwezi Member of Parliament, Edgar Singombe and United Liberal Party (ULP) M.P, Batuke Imenda have also joined the UPND.
And welcoming the 3 M.Ps, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has described 2011 as a favorable year for Zambia.

Good Luck. Politics is a Good profession. Do not ever walk away from it until death do you part. It is the only profession were you don’t have to worry about your retirement age.
I hear RB wants to resign from MMD and contest on UNIP ticket. He said UNIP is the only party with the best development plan. He has since apologised to UNIP and asked to be welcomed.
I don’t ever remember RB or even Mkondo Lungu, ever rezigning from UNIP to join the MMD.

I never thought about this critically until today. sata really needs to rest, they woudn’t had broken the pact, HH’s would have become the largest political party, talking about merging the two manifestos, would surely have become a ‘blast’!
@Luba, I don’t think there is anything between your ears.Why should the most popular political leader in the country retire at this stage in politics? Just to give way to HH who can’t even lead his own party eh? Listen to what Hachipuka had to say to UPND at the adjournment sine die of parliament. Those are the words of wisdom. It is the only way to success if HH has to make in politics. Not by trying to cone Sata out of leadership. To reap where he did not sow.

Poor Zambians,we shall have MPs  crossing over to the party which is perceived to be most popular in that region and same chaps shall bounce back in parliament.
Until another general or by-election,new alliances will form and lack of development will be blamed on because we are in opposition or the CD Fund is too little and our salaries should be increased to enable us buy better 4/4 to reach the remotest pot holes.Â

what do you really want remember politics goes with person favourism at a particular moment. all party constitution change as well as people in it change are not like churches’ doctrine. zambia is still very young to have stable parties just wait when mmd loss will remain a comdian party because will have no money to rule it so more pipo making noise now will be no where to be heard
