FLASHBACK: President Banda boards the Zambia Air Force executive plane in Chipata before heading back to Lusaka.

President Rupiah Banda leaves for  today for a three day working visit to the Copperbelt Province.

The President is expected to open the 2011 Zambia International Trade Fair during his visit to the Copperbelt.

Six hundred and twenty-seven firms will be exhibiting various products and services at this year’s Trade Fair in Ndola.

This is contained in a statement released to ZNBC News by the President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere.

President Banda’s administration has, since 2008, received accolades from various quarters, including the World Bank “Ease of Doing Business” Report, which early this year ranked Zambia among the top 10 reformers in the world.

The 97 foreign exhibitors to the 2011 Fair are a pointer to the Government’s efforts in creating an environment that continues to attract prospective investors to come and explore the available opportunities.

The Fair, whose theme is “Innovation for Competitiveness”, comes on the back of a World Bank Report which has named Zambia among Sub-Sahara Africa’s fastest-growing economies in the 2011-2013 period.

This has been attributed to the splendid performance in mining, agriculture and service sectors.

President Banda will be accompanied to the Copperbelt by First Lady Thandiwe Banda and senior government officials.

Take your dirty baboon tricks elsewhere, to your farm where your kind rapes bleating goats

  6. Mpombo said ..neither was it there to promote kleptocracy. Banda’s regime is in a serious cul-de-sac. Mpombo said Mobile hospitals are not the panacea to our health problems. Mabenga is nincompoop who should never be taken seriously. The MMD is headed for political obliteration. Banda’s conduct amounts to ‘shattering irrationality’…Mpombo said. These fellows have amassed wealth in US dollars because of the hanky-punk deals,” Mpombo said

  7. #7 Mpombo is a loser who regrets his stupid move of resigning from GRZ.He is nolonger a factor on the zed political landscape hence his fear in defending his seat.We will make sure we camp in ndola rural and return that seat were it belongs-MMD.

  8. WELCOME MR. ‘TOURIST PRESIDENT’ ! #4 I BET YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF LOCAL TOURISM. what’s WRONG WITH BEING A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY?
IT’S PERFECTLY ALRIGHT AND LEGAL TOO. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY JUST ZIP IT AND DON’T EXPOSE YOUR IDIOCY.

  12. Zambia is one of the highest copper producer, but again it’s one of the poorest countries.
    Shame shame shame!!!!!!!!!!!
Gaddaffi they say is a dictator,
    – but Libya does not owe any country in the world money
    – Libya is one of the richest countries in the world
    – The government of Libya gives personal vehicles to students been sponsored by the government & monthly salaries like already in employment.
Lets vote wisely this year guys, we need a leader who is strong & demanding, who will not let our copper been transported without us the onwners benefitting from it. Just like we do it when our children start going out of the way, you put strict rules to make sure they head in the right direction.
Vote PF, Vote MC SATA, Vote pabwato.
    Thank you!!!!

  13. Some comments sound really petty and malicious. People it is sad to learn that some people have not yet come to accept that RB is the presido 3 years down the line. And as such he is entitled to everything that comes with the OOP.
We are out here wishing that he was not the one in Plot 1 but so and so. It does not work like that brothers and sisters. Only one presido at a time and RB is the one. Remember, whilst you are entitled to your opinion or wish, it may or never materialise. Get a life and work hard for yourself……

  14. I think HERB needs a brand new JET,this one on the pic looks obsolete n it has over stayed…anyways we ll look into that as soon as possible. Move well n continue your hardworking which those with eyes hv seen n those without eyes, havent seen.

  15. kwena ba pf cadre muli fiwelewele, don’t you have something better to do? like put your own house in order? or develop better slogans than 90 days? or sort out the mess that is surely coming at your convention? i mean you can do a million good things, than jumping up like you have an electric shock whenever rb’s name comes up. be useful to our society for a change!

  16. You may not like it, you will never like it, but RB is your president, not aspiring, but incumbent, RB will be re-elected and he will preside over you for another 5 years. The truth may hurt, you may deny it, but the truth is the truth….no any other way!

  17. @ #3 No Way Reload some of your coments are not humanly but spritual I mean DEVOLISH coments similar to your picture

  18. I think HERB needs a brand new JET,this one on the pic looks obsolete n it has over stayed which means its so risky for our healthy president…anyways we ll look into that as soon as possible. Move well n continue your hardworking which those with eyes hv seen n those without eyes, havent seen.

  19. Welcome to the Copperbelt RB. Here, you have support. 5 more years in State House. 5 more months for Sata to get to CHINGWELE.

  20. Ba Sata, for sure ni Chingwere bound! The man cant even stand for 3 minutes. The face looks like he’s from the oven. Eish! Kaya kaya. RB nafuti nafuti. Hammer them mudala!!!

  21. Mmd must go a change is needed in Zambia. This tourist is taking the piss on the expense of the zambian tax payer.

  22. Ushe nabo ba Sata ni pa Embassy park or ku new Leopards Hill Cemetary or ku Chingwere as someone stated!!!

  23. The more RB travels the more allowances he makes . So add it up he will make trips unnecessary ones  shame ……

  24. Good move we know some parties are just following where you go..but come election day they will crush hard…

  25. pf cadres, in case you misunderstand me @19, let me clarify. when rb makes a speech on national issues, you are free to critique rationally, but not on a simple trip on his duties. similarly when mr sata says something that may affect the nation, we may also critique. only difference is that more often than not mr sata opens his mouth to spew nons.ense.

  26. @27, mr sata is smart, that is why he wants to upgrade himself to president so that he may qualify for 7 days national mourning and a place at embassy park. i mean how can he accept to be buried with commoners like you and me?

  27. RB Why are you breaking the tradition. When was the last time a Zambian president opened the ZITF. Cheap campaign strategy. Go back to your farm and open it.

  28. Who will guest of honour at this Years International Trade Fair or will thr First Lady grace the occassion. plz educate me on this matter. Thank you and I hope this wont the first family’s last show going. I would have thought if there is no guest of honour it would have been better for the Minister of Commerce and Industry Hon Felix Mutati offciating the function.

  29. The Copperbelt has no time for Grandpa RB. He cant even walk up the plane steps without holding on. He will need a hip replacement soon and after that Embassy Park

  30. Sorry MMD is gone in western province if ba RB will come now.Coming after parliament is disolved will not help thing out. Some minister were here just in hotels and came back lied to RB ati all is well.Since the Mongu massacre the President has never been to wastern province, but his was ku copperbelt kuma lilo ya ba ku church in that mini bus massacre.Luapula massacre he has never there. This are very inportant issues bane. What is he going tell the people of Luapula and western, since the ba VP BA KAUNDA said police did within the powers of the law.Only a **** can vote for some one who has sent [people] police men to kill your children. He sent Dr Somoni Jere and his men to kill our children.

  31. Hope he will use this trip to announce the election date…tick tick tick Jan -flying, Feb-flying, Mar -flying, Apr-flying, May -flying, June -still flying……..July and still no election date for 2011 elections…nipa Zambia sure. The real third world country and meanwhile ama opposition balelolelafye until they are caught wrong footed then bakambe ukulila nama petition

  32. Official tour to the ZITF could be one among many natural platforms for nafuti-nafuti. Opposition should be ripping the day they were born off their calendars in their offices. Very ominous indeed for the opposition.
