Share

Anti-rigging Zambia limited has maintained that it is possible for the country to print ballot papers for the forthcoming elections locally.

Anti-rigging Zambia board member Mwenya Chama says it is good that the Professional Printers Association of Zambia has responded to the queries raised by his organization and that it has indicated that Government Printers has the machinery to print ballot papers.

He added that government needed to puts up a security system at Government Printers becaus the money that will be spent on printing ballot papers in South Africa could have been injected into the local economy.

Mr. Chama questioned why Zambia after more four decades of independence should be printing its ballot papers in a foreign country adding that this raises a lot of suspicions among the Zambians.

But government and The Electoral Commission of Zambia have maintained that the ballot papers will be printed by South Africa%u2019s universal printers.

  1. This is ludacris!!!!
If ballot papers were to be printed in Z people who are so narrow minded like most PF cadres(who are already exchanging blows) and there boss the King Cobra will claim rigging even before election day. They will cry foul and use this as an excuse for their inevitably lamentable loss.

  2. I sense some danger as we move close to 20th september and after the election…Fellow christians, lets pray for our country.

  3. Just print the papers locally and move on with life. Security cameras are very cheap nawadays. The capital investment in cameras and recorders will be a big saving.

  4. And how would you assure PF that the elections were not rigged by VJ or the OP from the Government Printers? I mean, the PF is paranoid about everything from the parentage of RB to their own shadows, and even the adoption of their candidates by their own leader.

  5. Anti-rigging Zambia limited was formed by PF kaponya money launderer cheque bouncer lawyer by the name of Kelvin Bwalya Fube(KBF).So you are the same kaponyas who would cry foul if ballots are printed in zed.Mufunanji amambala imwe?

  6. whether you like it or not we are printing ballot papers in south africa. we are not going to continue arguing with people who never finished school.

  7. PF proposed to print the ballot papers in Zambia and security from all major political parties monitoring. But as usual MMD chose to spend Zambias money outside zambia. We know all this is corruption were some are getting paid and they reason it would be too expensive for PF to monitor the printing from SA. 20 yrs of MMD and Zambia still can not print ballot papers. 20 waisted years and this fake last minute construction boom shows you still cant do basic things after 20 years.

Total votes accrued in 2008.Write SATA off at your oo peril.
RB were good friends with UNITA rebel leader SAVIMBI in 19650 when he(rb) ws zed ambassador to the United Arab state(egypt).
He helped him set a UNITA office in lusaka.
Personally ,I CAN`T vote for RB Wenu.
Please dont insult us,PF and our presidente Mr Michael Chilufya Sata.
    Umwana mwaume abashala banakashi.
    Tefwe Tefwe uwibisha ne fyafina.
    ChweChweChwe.
Warning: Free, fair and square- we dont want another ivory coast, egypt, tunisia or syria.
Dont take us for granted and rig the elections.
Fair and square ,we will accept defeat or victory.

  9. This so-called Anti-Rigging NGO is either a fake one or it is a cryptic Department of the PF. Just as Musa Mwenye has proved to a PF cadre along the corridors of LAZ. Why on earth is it that this particular “Anti-Rigging NGO” is refusing to accept credible accounts given by both the ECZ and colloborated by the Govt. Printer. Let God bless this country to ensure that deceitfull elements will be put to rest after 20th September. Agony will reign thru among many politicians and their associated media tabliod that have thrived to live on propagating lies.

  10. If ballot papers were pronted in Zambia, it would have created employment among our youths, it was going to increase fortunes for MMD. our politicians in MMD have outlived their usefulness. kuyabebele mu 2011.

  11. Whoever  prints G7, G9, G12 exam papers, Post, Times, Daily Mail etc.. can print simple ballot papers. you just have to add tight security and monitors..so who is going to pay for the monitors and the independent security in RSA??
We should learn to work with what we have…

  12. Its unfortunate that we are not proactive. Its too late to coancel the contract as it has some legal implications. It mus t be made clear that this is the last time printingn works are beiing done from outside. This should apply to Examination Council of Zambia and Electrol Commission of Zambia. Why dont we have confidence in our own institutions and people. By the way how much is involved in this deal? No wonder Ms Isaacs had even the courage to claim that Govt Printer has no capacity. The whole things smells a rat. How can we have confidence in Ms. Isaacs if she can tell lies on a stright forward matter what when it comes to Rigging. I have seen the quality of ballot papers (2206/2008) they dont make any difference from any works done here. Its just corruption and bibery as Given said.

  13. # 14 DS Malama
That is the point. We are outraged. How can we fail to print ballot papers after 20 years of MMD? Why should they be given another 5 yrs when we cant even do printing in zambia ?. MMD would rather rent then build, import then manufacture, sell then buy, hire exparts than train locals.
It is plain for all to see After 20 years of MMD even simple tasks we need foreign help.

  14. Mufunanji ba mambala imwe? From PVT to Chanda Chimba III to disolution of parliament to elections date to parentage to ballot printing…Perpetual complainants.

  15. PF is nothing but a group of useless foolish fools. All they know is aimlessly criticizing and complaining about anything and everything. They always want things to go their way no matter how silly their method. If at all the Ballot Papers were to be printed locally by Government Printers, they would still have complained and accused VJ of rigging. So the best to do is to ignore them now and during voting.NEVER ARGUE WITH A FOOL…………………………………..

  16. #16 all monitors will travel to RSA at the invitation of ECZ which means tax payers cost or government sponsorship. Don’t worry, if you take a conservative estimate of 22 people (17 from participating presidential hopefuls, 2 ECZ, 2 NGO’s and 1 Govt printers) the total cost will only be $51 150 or about K245 million (K4800/USD) at $365 daily allowance per person for 5 days and hoping SAA gives a subsidized air fare at $500 return. Not that expensive is it? ECZ already has a budget so it seems

  17. Pa Fwaka are scared with there shadow.Even if we printed locally you can stil guess there cry.Sata and friends have no clue how to win.if you ask me for the answer is ” campaign with real issues affecting the people of Zambia”. Your style is out dated.are you going to cry aday a day everyday?.You can cry your way into state house, wake up man.

  18. THE SAME COMPANY HAS A BRANCH IN NAMIMBIA WITH THIS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERATION IT IS EASY TO TRANSFER THE TEMPLATES TO ANOTHERS SITE.WHILE PEOPLE ARE BUSY SCRUNTINISING THE BALLOTS IN S.A SOME COPIES CAN COME FROM NAMIBIA VIA SESHEKE OR SHANG’OMBO AND FIND THEMSELVES IN AN EMPTY BALLOT BOX. THIS IS WANT INFOR TECH CAN WORK.WATCH OUT ZAMBIANS.MUMBWE PAKULILA NINSHI PALI EPO ASHITILILE.THE INSISTANCE BY THE GOV TO PRINT BALLOTS OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY IS QUESTIONABLE?????????????????????????????????????????????

  19. This is nonsense, after so many years of independence we still cannot manage to print ballot papers locally?

The Nonsense of Foreign is better should change?? It applies to services in government offices; they treat foreigners better than Zambian citizens.
