PF faces Police action

Share

Some Patriotic Front-PF- officials in Kasama have been reported to police for hanging red flags on road side power poles contrary to the Electoral Code of Conduct.

The Kasama District Conflict Management Committee has taken the matter to police after the PF officials refused to comply with the 24 hour ultimatum to remove the Red flags which are not official campaign materials.

Kasama District Electoral Officer, Ernest Sumani however told ZNBC News in an interview that police action against the PF officials may only be effected after a stakeholders meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

He says the PF’s use of red flags does not fall within the definition of campaign material as defined in the Electoral Code of Conduct.

Regulation two of the Electoral Code of conduct prohibits a member or supporter of a political party or candidate from using posters or other propaganda which contains materials that may incite people to violence or rebellion.

But PF Kasama District Chairperson Kalanga Bwalya last week said his party will continue using the Red flags as its adopted campaign materials.

  1. Yu should also be reported becoz you are using ministry of health buses. The ECZ is tootheless my friend becoz the have allowed the MMD to abuse state property. The so called electroral code should be applied to all parties.

  2. Just allow them this once guys, they have no campaign materials this year. Their financial supporters have disappeared because of the dishonesty by PF and misuse of donations in previous elections. Let’s not be distracted by PF’s self inflicted problems, let’s fix our eyes on the big prize next Tuesday, let us all come out in large numbers tand help them pack their red cards!

  3. While it’s okay for them to use grz transport, fuel, facilities, bribes, commissionng projects that wont even start during campaigns, going round campaigning in the name of head of state at work abusing grz getting allowances, etc… anyway days are numbered. dont kubeba all the way

  4. Better to look up these cadres, after all Police will be safeguarding their lives as they are highly likely to die while being ferried around in canter trucks.

  5. The MMD are indeed desparate and they don’t know which language to use. No wonder smart Dora is saying that. I have just known the reason. Viva PF, nimwamukolo this year

  6. Please put on Red on the Polling day. I will do just that to show MMD the RED Card instantly. We’re sick and tired of this corrupt regime. Guys, let us talk to whoever we can, but please for that one day let the entire Country spend there night at the polling station guiding our votes up and until the last vote has been counted and results announced by the ECZ in Lusaka (Confirmed by oursleves in the field as true). Please spare us your sleep and let’s all spend our nights at the polling stations. If you suspect there will be rigging at any one polling station, please let us go there early enough so we seal out everything.
