Senior Chief Kopa tells Post Newspaper to apologise

Share

Senior Chief Kopa of the Bisa people has dismissed as malicious and a total fabrication a Post Newspaper story in Saturday’s edition in which he was quoted as endorsing Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata’s candidature.

The traditional leader has since demanded an apology from the daily tabloid.

Senior Chief Kopa says contrary to the Post Newspaper story, he and the entire Chiefdom are solidly behind the leadership of President Rupiah Banda.

He told ZNBC News at his palace that the Kopa chiefdom is morally bound to support President Banda because he has done his best to develop Mpika District and the entire country.

The chief says the Newspaper article was intended to frustrate government’s efforts of concluding the various projects while fanning hostility between President Banda and the people of Kopa chiefdom.

Senior Chief Kopa says he is deeply disturbed that the visit by three senior PF officials at his palace has been cast in bad light through a false story linking him to the PF and Mr Sata.

And Senior Chief Kopa has advised politicians visiting chiefdoms ahead of the September 20, tripartite elections to do so without ill or hidden motives bordering on selfish political opportunism.

According a Saturday’s Post Newspaper article, Senior Chief Kopa is reported to have said the country needs a change of government so that people can experience Mr Sata’s leadership.

The traditional leader was alleged to have issued the remarks when senior PF members Mbita Chitala, Panji Kaunda and Bob Sichinga called on him at his Palace on Thursday.

  1. POST reporters should be very careful the way they work because this could affect their careers in future. Right now if I owned a newspaper I would hesitate to employ anybody who has worked for the POST in the last 5 years.

  2. Don’t Kubeba ati Satan is headed for a fourth (and maybe final) defeat at the hands of MMD_RB Nafuti Nafuti!!!

    • Please if you are benefiting from corruption, time has come for you to be punished next week a good jail sentenc,am for change
      bye fool

  3. Who cares whether chiewf kopa endorses rb or not ifwe ni pabwato after all am bisa so whom is he representing useless chief!!

    • Chikala naimikaninafye imfumu_wether u lyk RB or don’t,he’ll win!! Wether u’v decided to see RB gud governance or not,he’ll still win!! Rigging or no rigging_campaign or without campaign_with propaganda or without propaganda_with your vote or without your vote,Rupiah Bwezani Banda will emerge victorous…Ngaulefwaya lila nangu uye uzale..

  4. RB must have released ba shushushu on chief Kopa and threatened with dethronment the same they did to chieftainess Nkomeshya.

  5. ZNBC Daily lies. This is reported speech no quotation for the chief so who is telling lies between post and ZNBC. Believe ZNBC only if you are an MMD vuvuzela.

  6. Fred Namakando Mmembe is a pathological liar. He’ll twist everything so long as it makes the MMD look bad. He’ll even blow Dora’s proverbial rantings out of proportion. Come 20th Sep, Mmembe, Mpombo and Mulongoti will all be in ICU due to shock. Watch this space.

  7. Chief Kopa (aka Mr. Banda) can never support Mr. Sata. He surely recalls those days during Chiluba’s admin when chiefs would be summoned by the Cobra to the MAFF Site (Min of Agric. lodge) for purpose of paying allegience to him (Cobra) and hope of brown envelopes. It was so degrading for the chiefs in the area, they would wait in line for hours..

  8. PF and the Post are PATHOLOGICAL FOOLS.Apologize for your lies or face the consequences of lying!Perpetual Fools, when will you ever learn to tell the truth?Thats why you are experienced Political Failures with a very Poor Foundation. You are Pathetic Fools.

  9. The Chief was actually on TV and was not amused. But is it the first time that the post have made such misrepresentations as this one?

  10. BA MONGU – I’m not so worried about the Times of Zambia and Daily Mail Newspaper reporters because whether we like it or not those are government newspapers and it is silly to expect them to praise the opposition. You know what to expect from them from the start and you have a choice to buy or not to buy. However, the POST wants to pretend that it is impartial and that is where the lies begin. If you have somebody being deliberately trained to lie and deceive, how can you ever trust them. In government newspapers and media they tell right from the start that you are a government employee and you are expected to sing the national anthem even in your dreams!

  11. Your Fools, Dont think The Post is unprofessional as The MMD ZNBC and Times of Banda. Remember what The Nighty Fred M’membe told ACC chief? I qoute. ” We are not fools to destroy the Newspaper we have tioled for 20yrs with the irresponsible reporting.

  12. #12 PF Sources – Point of correction. Chief Kopa is not Sata’s chief. Sata is from Chief Chikwanda – two different chiefs, one is Bisa the other is Bemba.

  13. Since there is a lot of money flowing to Chiefs’ palaces in exchange for political favours, we the indigenous Bisa people advise our Snr. Chief Kopa not to be trapped into the PF camp. The Chief should call all his most elderly Ndunas, and all custodians of A BENA- NG’ONA clan for a meeting to scrutinise origins of Sata. History must record authentic data on the Bisas in Mpika and covering the Luangwa Valley. In Bisaland the name SATA is foreign. Authentic Bisa names are: Chabala, Chanda, Changwe, Chibale, Chikoko, Chilekwa, Chiluba, Kabela, Kalunga, Kunda, Malama, Mpumba, Mumba, Mumbi, Mwansa (spelt Mwanza in Luangwa Valley), Nkandu. Anthropogists will reveal that such names are found along a broad band extending into Serenje & Luapula Valley. The name SATA is a strange animal species.

  14. Hahahaha…de javu. I remember in ’08 when Satan bought a calf and presented it ”to himself” …the midget mmembe flashed a front page picture of the fool with the poor animal and shoved a lie of a story down the post followers’ throats that it was a present from some chief in western province….uuuum. We later learnt ,it was FAR from the truth.

  15. #19 DS Malama – Do you detest Sata for tribal reasons or because you dont think he is good enough to become a president? Are you saying that if your Indunas prove that he is Bisa then you will vote for him despite his drawbacks? Either you agree with his policies or you dont. His tribe should not matter. KK is a Zambian of Malawan descent and he ruled Zambia for 27 years. Therefore if Sata is good enough then he can rule – and he is Zambian regardless of where you think his parents came from. Personally, I dont think he has the qualities, period.

  16. Ba Post remember when Sata was presented with a cow in Mongu and the wife was presented with misisi, what did you do, flashed the story on your front page, Western province is now mwamukolo, come 30th October, 2008, Sata was the last in the whole Western Province. Now you are at it again, why don’t you wait, it is only 6 days to go, we shall if Sata can overturn the tables

  17. Please put on Red on the Polling day. I will do just that to show MMD the RED Card instantly. We’re sick and tired of this corrupt regime. Guys, let us talk to whoever we can, but please for that one day let the entire Country spend there night at the polling station guiding our votes up and until the last vote has been counted and results announced by the ECZ in Lusaka (Confirmed by oursleves in the field as true). Please spare us your sleep and let’s all spend our nights at the polling stations. If you suspect there will be rigging at any one polling station, please let us go there early enough so we seal out everything.
