PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda has said the Zambian people should avoid premature celebrations for their respective candidates in Tuesday’s presidential and general elections until the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) officially declares the winner and warned people intending to fan violence that they will be dealt with severely.
Mr Banda said agitation for chaos would be stopped and assured the Zambian people that his Government was ready to stem a breach of the law by dealing with politicians planning to frustrate peace as he addressed one of the final rallies before the close of the campaigns on Sunday.
Addressing a mammoth rally in Petauke yesterday, President Banda also explained that his seven-point plan would ensure improved living standards at household level if implemented in the next five years and urged Zambians to give him chance to unlock his pledge for their benefit.
Mr Banda said Patriotic Front (PF) leaders were taking Zambians for granted by unleashing a vague symbol called ‘Don’t kubeba’ instead of telling the people what they intended to do if they were elected into office. He said it was primitive to persistently flash a symbol that presumes secrecy instead of being transparent.
The president also addressed a rally in Nyimba District where a senior PF member of the national mobilisation committee, Pembele Mumba resigned to join the ruling party alongside 58 other members of the opposition party.
President Banda called on all Zambians to pray for peace and advised them to be wary of some PF members who were threatening to cause chaos and had been shown on television preparing weapons.
He said the Government was still functional and that anyone engaging in such activities would be arrested and dealt with in line with the Zambian laws. The president said the PF was eager to stir violence after realising that it was not ready for the elections.
Mr Banda said the elections did not depend on PF, adding that he set the date of elections because he was the Head of State. The president said PF leaders had pressed him to call for early elections for about a year but when he did, the opposition leaders engaged in activities that suggested that they were not ready for the polls.
He said he was impressed with the huge crowds that had been attending his rallies in every part of the country and that he would address one tomorrow in Ndola after which he would have another one on Saturday in Lusaka.
“Every rally I have addressed has been like this. When they see these pictures tonight on television, they will not sleep. We must work together to protect peace and build tomorrow’s Zambia,” President Banda said.
Mr Banda said the people of Eastern Province should vote for him not because he hailed from the area but because he was a good and humble servant who had performed well in the last three years despite many Zambians doubting his capacity when he assumed office in 2008.
He said MMD was the only party that had a national character having fielded candidates in all the 150 constituencies countrywide. “We have come this far together. You can vote to move forward or you can vote to go backwards after working so hard with your Government.
“This is our final week of campaigning. After Sunday, it will be up to ECZ to prepare for D-day. Let us work hard until the final day of campaigns,” President Banda said. He said the development the people of Nyimba were witnessing was being undertaken everywhere in the country and would continue if he was re-elected on Tuesday.
Mr Banda said he wanted to open more mines, improve the performance of agriculture further and invite foreign direct investment in order to create jobs for the youth. Meanwhile, 1, 860 cadres from the PF led by Petauke District women’s chairperson Precious Zulu resigned from the party to join the ruling party, accusing Mr Sata of promoting divisions in the country.
Ms Zulu, who spoke for the defectors, said her engagements with Mr Sata, who did not have any vision of his own, were restricted to scheming against the progressive ideas of President Banda.
[Times of Zambia]
There is no complacency for us unflinching patriots.
Victory is certain for PF, whether early celebration or not. The writing is on the wall. RB people have already shown you how unhappy they are with you looking at the reaction where ever you have been. It is you to accept and get the advise from you bululu KK from his statement released today. Zambia is not for you and your children but for all of us.
A victory for RB is a victory for Zambia, democracy, food security, a Zambia with hope for social security, unprecedented development, national unity, sustainable peace, heavy investment, Zambia’s economic and political capital in the international arena.. RB means inclusion for a better Zambia and opportunities for all hardworking Zambians.
“And warned people intending to fan violence that they will be dealt with severely”.
This alone is a bit worrying if you asked me. How does he know?
Indeed it makes me wonder what makes RB to say so,does he know anything we dont know
RB is warning people who will cause violence but has he done about William Banda who even confessed that he has been at the centre of this violence, people of zambia can;t we see this crap
WARNING: AMBER Alert
IF SATA OWES YOU MONEY YOU RISKED IN HIS CAMPAIGN, GET IT NOW BECAUSE THE DAY HE WILL GAMBLE WITH HIS PLAN TO START KILLING ZAMBIANS, THE SAME ZAMBIANS WILL EXECUTE HIM LIVE TO TAME INSANITY AND HIS PASSION TO MURDER ZAMBIANS.
Taukwete fya kulanda! why are you alarming the nation?
that’s a president talking – you did NOT see insulting or threatening anybody in his speech.
He insults and threaten violence through ci william Banda
Let sole losers take defeat with dignity to spare their fate
The Zambian constitution is a sacred document that has clear framework for existence of political parties. All parties derive their constitutionality to rule from this sacred document. The constitution has a “Supremacy Clause” against wishful thoughts of any individual or groups thinking otherwise. In our electoral act even by 1 vote difference, winner takes it all.
Therefore, PF dreams of forming a bloated Government through perpetuation of violence against Zambians to force arranged deals Government other than what the electoral mandate confers is not only delusional but constitutionally treasonous and unacceptable by a conscious citizenry. Therefore, PF kaponyas are is in delusional overdrive to think they would land a GNU by murdering Zambians.
There is empirical evidence that PF has templates of violence. They are scheming to murder Zambian women and children with hope of coercing voters to condone an unconstitutional bloated unity Government with Sata as its Prime Minister. Because Zambia is a constitutional republic with a functional democracy and an all involving electoral system administering tripartite elections under peaceful circumstances, mischief will be choked, rejected and exterminated with precision in best national interest.
Good one RB! some leaders have already started celebrating victory based on the crowds attending their rallies! thats why they find it hard to concede defeat. how do you win before the the actual election?lol! funny!
I wonder……..if RB said MMD had no money a couple of months ago, then where have they got this loot they are so lavishly spending??????????
No 11 its called strategy…..

Pamukolo congregation, u’re a f u ckin a.s.s.hole my friend but at least u stay true to your useless party with regards vulgar language and being generally dull :)
kuya bebele…viva pf
RB can only attract a mammoth rally in Petauke ! Ofcourse we all know that MMD will lead in Eastern Province and thats it. I struggle to believe that RB is politically commanding the entire nation. Anyway, no need to labour on this. We shall wait and see on Wednesday!!! The beauty is that RB is ready and willing to hand over the power to MC SATA next week, and thats what we call THE FEAR OF GOD.
No. 17, I beg to differ with you, of course RB is winning, the writing is on the wall, why even doubt, I heard yesterday that Sata is still intending to campaign for 2016, anyway that is your constitutional right.
Sata and pf with their PR wing the post with the evil satanist membe are shameless liars whom the Zambian people have just found out and can’t trust them any more hence their eminent loss at election. They are now banking at funning violence but thank God there won’t be any war in Zambia no matter how they try.
This man means well for this country, he has only been in power for 3 years and i do see Zambia headed in the right Direction. he has my vote, its a pity some people have already conceeded defeat but they are trying to blame their loss on rigging, which does not exist.
imagine, they pretend not see when at every MMD and RB rally, we have PF and UPND defectors, we have not heard about MMD defectors to PF then next week they will say MMD rigged the elections
We have warned these retards and I hope their shinda paper is getting it into their gay heads that we are not joking this time around. They are in panic mode even tricking a sick old man into signing shit statements.
Who told this RB that PF is celebrating the victory now??? When you talk about violence what are you saying about William Banda and that f ool we saw here on video… showe us a video where PF member is calling others for violence… only from you MMD we have seen that,,,, bakolweeeeeeeeeeeeee. PF has failed before, he never fought back but why are u scared of violence???? You are a big violence, election are tensing coz of u,,, Sata is peaceful but strong
lets lean to speak sence people when are we going to grow.becouse not even a president will come and give you a direction for good future if yourself cant .if u are good u are good no one one can make you to goog.
SATA HAS LOST ELECTIONS BEFORE AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY VIOLENCE. IF WE HAVE VIOLENCE THIS YEAR,IT WILL BE YOU AND YOUR RELATIVE WILLIAM BANDA TO BLAME.
Tis very clear now that PF including Post ‘s mmembe are too desparate seeing that it is impossible for them to win these elections. Thus they will today say Kaunda says this, tomorrow that. They will say MMD has rigged the elctions. ECZ is not impartial. UpG is corrupt………Can you imagine!
Ha Banda you can not scare us, not any more….when ECZ start announcing the results thats when you will realise that the people around you have just been misleading you.meanwhile ni donch kubeba.
The voting pattern from 2006 and 2008 has not changed at all, in fact RB has made inroads in all PF strongholds, so just brace yourselves for a ruuuuuude shock, Viva viva RB and MMD 24/9, inauguration day for RB, you will die of shock
Bla bla bla bla Banda is just trying to do damage control inflicted by Dora,no sensible person would see progress with the MMD in power, they have failed terribly thats why they want to collect votes from the rural because the rural community in Zambia is not well informed. They take advantage of the less informed.
fear of the unknown. Why should you be scared of the word dont kubeba?? time has come for you to park. Your unprecedented development is not accepted at all costs. by ba Shikulu
And all the indicators point that Sata and PF are forming Government on 22nd September 2011. RB be strong and emulate KK, he humbly handed over power and thats how MMD came to power to ruin the country. Time for Sata is now and accept it, it’s written all over. Gaddaffi is now treking the deserts instead of enjoying due to selfishness and stubborness. His predicament can happen to any dictator or imposer so lets heed KK’s advise in today’s leading paper The Post.
including the fake poll by a fictitious Canadian university.
And the mamoth rally that we witnessed yesterday in Kitwe was attended by 99% registered voters voluntarily and not ferried with most miners absent due cruelity of “investors”. The mood countrywide is “We want Change” in favour of Sata and PF. We wait to see yet another sister mammoth rally slated for mandevu, Lusaka, this afternoon. Love Zambia, vote Sata vote PF
VIVA MWAMUKOLO,VIVA PF , VIVA MICHAEL SATA
SAKALA KUYABEBELE…WAIBA PAFULA…………..
deal with the pf cadres at once..!we want peace ,security and prosperity!
Hey people help me out here, am finding it difficult to come up with places mmd will get maximum votes apart from eastern.
Central, NW, Western:d:d
MMD will share Southern with UPND and Luapula, northern, lusaka and CB with PF. Other than where PF will share with MMD, pf have no where-else to share votes. :d
“am finding it difficult to come up with places mmd will get maximum votes”
….uhhh, Zambia?
Chwechwe chwe chweeeeeeeeeeeeeeealallallalallalallaaaaaaaaaaa
IF NISHI EFILILA CHILYA ICHONI BUTA ATI RB
He is battling to get votes from eastern this time, very unpopular RBish. He and his William will be dealt with severely should they fun violence after losing
MMD a fertile ground to be rich in three years .Money spend by mmd in this campaign can build two more universities. a party with poor management of resources.
WE HAVE ALREADY STARTED CELEBRATING,OUR CARING PRESIDENT IS FORMING THE GOVERNMENT ON 20TH SEPTEMBER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. HE IS A MAN OF ACTION, CARING FATHER FOR THE WIDOW AND POOR. HE HAS COMPASSION FOR THOSE THAT ARE IN NEED. VIVA MR PRESIDENT AND MAY THE WILL OF GOD PROTECT YOU. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO COME BUT THIS TIME OUR GOD HAS ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. WHAT GOD HAS PUT IN PLACE NO MAN CAN TAKE IT AWAY. IT IS HIGH TIME FOR THE THIEVES TO BE CAUGHT AND THE INNOCENT OF THE BLOOD SHADE OF THE BALOTSE PEOPLE TO LEAST IN PEACE.
The ‘Don’t Kubeba’ seems to give this president sleepless nights. He says he doesn’t know what it means, really?
But what does the nonsense ‘Chwe chwe chwe’ and ‘Nafuti nafuti’ mean? Can you tell us Mr Banda?
‘chwe chwe chwe’ means ‘birds or the same feather’ and ‘nafuti nafuti’ means ‘lets steal again’
I saw vice president Kunda ysterday and I was shell shocked beyond belief. At one point or another, are are all destined to make rendezvous with death but that Kunda’s date with is nearly upon him is way too apparent. The question that begs an answer is this, despite the provision in our constitution that stipulates that one must be of sound health to run for a seat in the national assembly, how was this sickling allowed to circumvent this privision? Mark my word, if George wins, Muchinga will be the first constituency to go for a bye-election, and what a deliberate waste of state resources.
THE BLOOD OF OUR BROTHERS WHO DIED FOR THE SIMPLE ISSUE WHICH THE GOVERNMENT FAILED TO DEALT WITH HAVE NOT LEAST NOT UNTIL WE SEE CHANGE IN OUR COUNTRY.THEY KILLED THEM FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPMENT IN THEIR AREA. WHY WILL YOU SO CALLED RUPIAH BANDA CLAIM TO BE A PRESIDENT AGAIN IF YOU FAILED TO SOLVE SIMPLE PROBLEM THAT RESORT INTO LOSING OF PRECIOUS LIVES.
#38. Tandabale the man looks like Teta in his last days. May God be with him though.
Viva Cheweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
TO ALL PF SUPPORTERS AND THOSE THAT WANT CHANGE ON 20TH SEPTEMBER 2011, PLEASE DO NOT FOLD THE BALLOT PAPER AFTER YOU PUT THE X ON SATA AND PF CANDIDATES. THE BALLOT PAPERS ARE VERY SUSPICIOUS AND TAKE THIS WARNING SERIOUSLY. JUST DROP THE BALLOT AS IT IS OR FOLD DIAGONALLY. DONT KUBEBA…..
Kunda, mulamwange wa mitolo wateni kumu calimela mange inge sinalulyanyoka sesi mizize kashuto! For all I care, George can go to hell and marry the devil (if Chiluba hasn’t already). When he kicks the bucket, I will make sure I am there so that “tika chilize”
you can never beat the ruling party with 10 opposition parties
P.F and Sata are peaceful. Why is this RBish lying that we are planning violence. Why didn’t we do that in the past when our victory was robbed by MMD rigging? Mr. Banda, please if you don’t have anything to tell Zambian voters just shut up, or are you planning violence now that you can see that you are losing? Viva Pabwato… Ni DONCHI KUBEBA….
THESE *****S WANTS TO RIG, THIS AFTERNOON ALL BCOZ PF HAD A RALLY THEY SWITCHED OFF POWER COUNTRY WIDE.
IWE CHI Senior Citizen , A victory for RB is for YOU and ONLY YOU IN YOUR PERSONAL CAPACITY because you are enjoying the dollars at the Zambian Embassy in Washington.
The Winner Takes It All.The Loser Standing Small Beside The Victory.Thats Our Destiny. The Loser Has To Fall. Its Simple And Its Plain. Why Should One Complain.Rules Must Be Obeyed. The Judges (Voters) Will Decide.
Why the F*** did they switch off power? RB is F***ing panicking!! Tick tok tick toc time to Go Rubbish Business!
‘Dont celebrates too early as it we not likely to win – its PF’s year’ said RB. How humbling
He knows that PF normally celebrate early and then later starts crying faul!!!!!!!!!
‘I want to open more mines…..? what croak of shit is this. You are busy selling off Zambian companies and shares in the mines then you talk of opening more mines for whom? tell it to the villagers because 99% of them have never worked in their lives and lost jobs.
