Masebo storms the totaling centre and demands recount of the six ballot boxes

Share

Chongwe Member of parliament Sylvia Masebo

Patriotic Front candidate Sylvia Masebo stormed the totaling centre and demanded that the six ballot boxes from Palabana should not be among the total number of ballot boxes.

Ms Masebo demanded for a recount of the six ballot boxes after which Chongwe District Electoral District officer Eddie Mumba said the request was not within the law.

Mr Mumba says only the courts of law can order a recount of the votes of there is petition of the results.

And the MMD and PF camps in Chongwe have agreed that results for presidential elections should be declared while parliamentary and local government elections should be put on hold pending the production of the document which went missing during a road traffic accident.

The accident happened when ballot boxes from Palabana polling station were being transferred to the totaling centre.

The Presiding officer was injured in the accident and a statement of procedure got lost in the process.

    • It’s not masebo people loved in change it’s the party period, people have to learn from her.who does she think she is?she is dead and life will continue.why should we stop the clock because of her.big head as if she knows anything apart from what is between her legs.dull

  1. hahahaha mayo… you thought people are fools. Just accept that your political prostitution has come to an end….

    • i can not agree less with you on this one,she has been taught a bitter lesson ala iwe masebo walemona kwati abantu balitumpa

  2. Masebo can’t lose chongwe. They rigged the elections, even the accident was planned and the ecz officer was just sacrificed

  3. No 1  you need to be aware of the election rules and regulation and the law. You can not just order ECZ to do what you feel like. Only a petition in a court of law can order a recount. To play football you must know what is an offside rule otherwise try another game…

  4. The river has run dry in urban constituencies now let the rural votes pass the verdict. All remaining are rural constituencies. Zambia’s mandate come from compilation of every vote from the votes cast in all 150 constituencies and not just the 33-70 being speculated on in the urban areas. Democracy is not just a preserve of the urban votes only but every corner of the country.

  5. Also this political ho should sit down. She has groupie behavior, jumping from party to party. You deserve to be left out.

  6. I told Ms. Masebo that voters in Chongwe are not personal-to-holder. I was right. You cannot betray the people of Chongwe by abandoning a working govt in favor of a frivolous one.

The people of Chongwe have seen the unprecedented levels of development that Chongwe has experienced. Chongwe has got boreholes, district hospital, schools…etc. Did you think the people of Chongwe would abandon that in favor of populism and abracadabra more money in your pockets within 90 days?? You must be joking lady.

The people of Chongwe have “donchi kubebad” you very nicely.

    • Mr Capitalist, the development you are talking about came only after MAsebo ditched MMD. And it was all done just to hoodwink the populace there. Are we still going to see the same levels of ‘development’ sustained in Chongwe? Or RB will forget about Chongwe (that is if he wins!) and only appear at the next election, as they all do?

  7. why is it that only PF MP’s are not conceding defeat? Like this woman and the want other parties to concede defeat….  like No 6 says mayo tekeni bola mpanshi. Now you are unemployed

  8. Politicians must stop thinking they own people and can drag them everywhere they go in their opportunism. There is a separation line somewhere in life is taken for granted. The worst think is to intimidate people that you would expell them from their villages if they don’t migrate needlessly with you in your opportunism. People then act to dare the person threatening them. Lets see how Masebo expell Zambians from Chongwe.

    • Sinvwa, these are just elections, don’t forget you were born from a Woman. There are sensible issues to be discussed/debated… I think you are a very dull person because no one can get sense from what you have just said….

  9. The people of chongwe love & respect Masebo it’s Banda who fixed her, same goes with Patrick and Lameck Magani…….. Banda fixed them. MMD and Banda hasn’t done anything to help people of Chongwe. Poverty , unemployement, dirty filthy hospitals is what MMD and Banda have to Chongwe and the whole Zambia.

  10. No 17

In your dreams….  she will have to face the fact that she is unemployed. I don’t think she even will find a man to support her… look how ugly she is

  11. interesting that all dissident political opportunists from both the MMD and PF have all but been rejected by the people. Mulongoti, Mpombo, Chitala, Patrick Mwanawasa, Mangani, Masebo, Celestino Chibamba, Machungwa, Chitika and Majory Mwape have all been rejected by the people.

  12. Masebo could not have lost the elections in Chongwe to RB. The fact the MMD has agreed to this should be evident enough to convince the slow people that Masebo can not lose the Chongwe sit to an MMD rock head.

  13. masebo should learn the hard way,no sympathy for her.you resign and go quitely and not throwing feaces at any one.bwezani is winning and we shall see who will have the last laugh

  14. Whether Banda wins or not, what has become very clear is that his majority in parliament has evaporated in thin air. The stupidity of our constitution is that you have a direct vote for a president who cannot function in the event of the lack of a functioning majority in parliament. Banda is a lame duck and whether he likes it or not, the first item on the agenda for the new parliament will be to table a motion to impeach his stinking Malawian backside.

  15. Its not possible to lose one document and the others remain. The presiding officer hands two important envelopes to the returning officer.one envelope contains 3 ballot paper account forms for presidential, national assembly and local government and the other sealed envelope contains records of proceedings at the count, statement of rejected ballot papers and the announcements of results all for presidential, national assembly and local government. So its not possible to lose one document and the others remain and at the end of all they have stack the results at the very polling station, why not go back and the results from there.ba MMD BA TUMPISHA!!

  16. If you people in MMD are real men, after telling Masebo to accept the result, will you now turn your rotten mouths to your Banda and tell him to accept that he is out? Tell that fool to leave that house. He has no title deed to plot one. He is done and must not surround that house with Zimbabwe soldiers. Cowards. You can massage the numbers all you want, but people have spoken. It is PF time.

  17. MMD is trying to invent new tricks after exhausting those in their books to win chongwe. They are desperate and will not rest until they wrestle chongwe seat from Silvia.
True to their words they used juju to cause the accident of the presiding officer and disappearance of the statement of procedure

  18. Well  i would love it the winning present got less than 60 MPs so that we see how beautiful our next constitution will be

  19. No 29 we can not tell RB to leave when he has not lost. Sylvia has lost… don’t be emotional just give her a job if you have one…

  20. Chongwe results need to be investigated. clear manipulation of Masebo’s results. May the Almighty God no allow these monkeys in wolfs skin to govern the country again. Masebo has not lost. she is intlligent and hard working woman who stands for what is right.

  21. MMD takes Chitambo
Muchima Malama of the MMD has won the Chitambo parliamentary seat in Serenje District.
Mr Malama polled 4 thousand, and 82 votes against Mutale Chanda of the Patrioc Front who got 2 thousand, 959 votes.
Independent candidate Godfrey Kabengele got one thousand six hundred and 81 votes, Patrick Kalunga of UPND got 103 votes.

  22. She was leading in all polling stations The only polling station she has lost are those six involved in the road accident and form conveniently got lost on the way. What a coincidence? Only MMD fools would accept that foolishness.

  23. No 34 thats your opinion and clearly not the opinion of the people of chongwe  :)  thats the good thing about voting

  24. Muteteka takes Chisamba
MMD Chisamba Parliamentary candidate, Moses Muteteka retained the seat after polling 6-thousand 980 votes.
Returning Officer, Dr Elaato Zulu declared Mr Muteteka winner of the parliamentary polls in Chisamba at about 20.38 hours on Wednesday.
Trilling Mr Muteteka is UPND’s Joel Mboyoma with 6-thousand 555 votes followed by PF’s Oswald Chulu who polled one thousand 958 votes.

  25. No 38 the are going to tell you that even those have been rigged. Its seems that when PF loses then results are rigged. Its like we are all PF in Zambia….  we told u that winagu azalila

  26. Let baby masebo keep crying no one should give her milk,I mean no one. She should know she is not the only baby in this family!

  27. This is what is bound to choke Sata after his urban vote has all but exhausted. In NorthWestern province the unfolding pattern is that everywhere Banda ends with thousands, Sata is ending with 2 to 3 digit votes a defacto rejection.

In all NW province constituencies except Solwezi Central where Sata has managed to tap a thousand+ the rest he is ending with 11, 32, 54, 77, 213, 201, 423, 327, 17, 84 and 654 votes.

    Solwezi East
    Sata= 84 votes

     Monze Central
    Sata=777 votes

    Katuba
    Sata=622 votes

  28. # 41 you are leaving out that Banda is choking there too. Thanks to HH. Sata will eventually emerge as winner as RB will win only Central and Eastern. And you give out those results but you leave out the other candidates, typical of sensationalism, factor in HH. You will be the one shedding tears, not Sata.

  29. Its plain to see from how things have transpired in Chongwe that theres something wrong.all you calling on Masebo to accept the result, try for a second or minute to put yourselves in her shoes. forget about her political prostitution and all that. theres no way the most important document can go missing while all the rest are intact.are you telling me you dont see anything wrong or fishy with that?? dont let your hate for PF cloud your judgement, the lady has a point of course she cant order a recount, but its clear things went wrong there. Theres so much inefficiencies in these elections and you cant blame any one questioning them because ECZ has given us alot of reasons to be suspicious especially that elections have been rigged before in our land which our courts proved.

  30. Not to worry Masebo Banda’s shushuzi who we are replacing soon an you will be an MP….most blogger dont know how he hated you

  31. Dream on. Check the new results on Zambian Economist.
Someone will pee. Why do you think RB has surrounded State House with Zimbabwe Police and Military?

  32. You are worsting on LT. They done too as MMD heads to extinction, like UNIP. Check today’s MMD, it is the same cursed UNIP fellas and now they now falling off like poisoned roaches. The Zambian Economist is the place to be.

  33. Heee heeee..Masebo the people have spoken , you have lost you cannot jump ship at the last minute and expect to survive….be strong go and lick your wounds in silence..and by the way you only led for a while after that it was 50/50 then you were left in dust..yes Winter your boyfriend is making noise but he knows you lost…

  34. there is no need for a recount. polling station results were given to each political party agent. id a candidate is not comfortable, they should ask for results from their agent who was at the polling station and compare with those complied the ecz officers. full stop. no need to scandalise ecz

  35. I didnt know the worlds oldest profession can be political.Hard luck masebo.Next time.Try your luck with heritage party!GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  36. Yea good for ya.its true she lost even those from palabana she wants to be recounted i dont think she can cos palabana and my village we didnt accept her we need ferteleza silvia which the PF can not give us.bye

  37. Any one can lose, but I think the most important is that all procedures are followed correctly. We should never miss the principle of legal issues, once these are complied with, people will have no problems.

  38. I am particularly concerned about these so called road traffic accidents. Why have there been so many in such a short space of time? Vehicle carrying ballot boxes falls into a river, accident there and here! What is going on?
If the ECZ have had so much time to get this act together, the millions of blunders in this election justify Dan Kalale’s point that he was the only one who could deliver an incident free election. Kalale, whatever wrong you did, you were a genius. The ladies at ECZ have flopped.

  39. Chongwe results officially announced.
MMD’s Japhen Mwakalombe has scooped the Chongwe Parliamentary seat.
Mr Mwakalombe polled 14 thousand 3 hundred and 84 votes, followed by PF’s Sylvia Masebo who got 8 thousand 1 hundred and 43 votes.UPND’s Clement Mapulanga came third with 2 thousand 3 hundred and 9 votes with David Chuulu of the FDD only managing 5 hundred and 42 votes.Declaring the results, Thursday morning at Chongwe Civic Centre returning Officer Yusto Chisulo said Mr Mwakalombe has been duly elected as Chongwe Member of Parliament.Mr Chisulo also said that 7 hundred and 3 ballot paper had been rejected as invalid.
The total number of votes cast, was 26 thousand and 81 votes out of the 52 thousand registered voters.

    • Sylvia Masebo thought Chongwe was a personal to holder seat. It good to hear she has lost. She too proud and stubborn. Im glad she has been humbled now. She likes jumping from one party to the other. We will see which party she will now join.

  40. My goodness…. now how is she going to pay for all the fancy clothes, hair weaves, and make-up without the taxpayer footing her bills?

  41. No. 61 indeed that was my hard earned money that used to buy weaves guess now she has to look for a job like the rest of us :(( sorry madam i am sure things will work out one day soon
