William Njobvu ruled out of Africa Cup

William Njobvu says he will miss the Africa Cup due to injury.

Njobvu said in an interview from Israel today that he sustained the injury in league action for Hopoel Ironi Shmona.

“Yes I am injured.I broke my Minuscule in my knee,”Njobvu said.

“I am going for surgery on Monday. But for sure am out of the Africa Cup because the Doctor confirmed that I will be out for four weeks.”

Njobvu joins striker Jacob Mulenga of FC Utrecht in Holland who is also ruled out of the Africa Cup.

Meanwhile, Zambia team Doctor Joseph Kabungo said the injured players at the Johannesburg camp James Chamanga and Thomas Nyirenda were making progress in their quest to recover in time for the January 21 kickoff in Bata, Equatorial Guinea where Zambia will play two of their three Group A games.

  1. More injuries maybe reported again on/after 11.01.12 friendly with SA.. Submission of names players who will participart in CAN is 10.01.12.. Zambia many end up having more injured players. (

  2. ba njovu, sorry but when are going to be at your peak? i remember you marshalling our midfield in the africa cup finals in egypt were we were unceremoniously booted out in the first rounds. how is your sister? i mean kalu’s girl. some of you players just make numbers and deter young and promising talets who are sidelined cos of your connections within faz. enjoy your injury in israel cos we are better of without you. our midfield will tick with or without you.

  3. Who cares that u are injured? We should ban zambia from participating in soccer , waste of tax payers money. We need to try volley ball or prostitution
