President Michael Sata

President Michael Sata is deeply saddened by the death of Princess Nakatindi Wina, a renowned politician and former cabinet minister in the inaugural MMD administration.

In his message of condolences to the Wina family, President Sata says the Princess, had offered many years of dedicated service to the country and the cause of women emancipation.

The President observed that Princess Nakatindi Wina provides great lessons that women can with determination, achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.

Mr Sata has eulogized the Princess as one of the pioneering women in the struggle and later one of the advocates of the re-introduction of plural politics in Zambia.

The President says Government will stand by the bereaved family and render every possible form of assistance.

Mr Sata prays that God grants the bereaved family comfort and strength as they mourn the departed heroin.

This is according to a statement released to ZNBC news by State House Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah.

Princess Nakatindi Wina died on Thursday at Milpark Hospital in South Africa.

And president Sata is deeply saddened at the untimely death of Malawian President Bingu Wa Mutharika, following a cardiac arrest.

In his letter of condolences to the newly inaugurated Malawian President, Joyce Banda, Mr Sata has expressed his deep sense of shock and sadness at the death of President Mutharika.

He says Zambians feel profoundly sorry for the loss of a true friend and shares Malawi’s sadness during this period of enormous pain.

The President stated that Zambia particularly remembers the President for the many years he spent in the country during his tenure as Secretary-General of COMESA.

President Sata says President Mutharika’s sudden death is a great loss not only for the people of Malawi, but for the Southern African region and the continent as a whole.

The Head of State stated that President Mutharika, will also be remembered as a great reformer who championed the cause of humanity and dedicated his life to selfless service up to the time of his death.

President Sata says the President will be solely missed by all who knew him for the ideals that he firmly stood for.

  1. He will be remembered for his reckless nepotism which was driving the country backwards to Kamuzu Banda years!!

    • When someone dies the norm is to remember them for the good things they did not the bad stuff just as your people will do when you die.
Even people like Idi Amin had mourners on their funeral.

  2. People are celebrating in Malawi over the death of their leader instead of mourning. I hope Sata will learn one or two things from there. Don’t take people for a ride…

  3. He’s not in hiding, the man may be sick. I am definitely not wishing him ill, but I hope he can take care of himself. The man smokes and drinks heavily, which is not good for someone his age. Vice plays a significant role in Sata’s behavior, even in politics.

  4. you lunatics, the Lusaka Times, have also started censoring comments. Have been paid by Sata, like Fred Mmembe?

  5. I am missing my beloved President. Can we see him or hear his authoritative tone. He needs to say something about the BA and the huge salary increment awarded to the civil servants who expected 4%.

  6. These messages to the Wina Family and President Joyce Banda of Malawi are simply standard works of Protocol Officers at State House. In essence it is George Chellah at work. A message to the Wina Family may be NEAR genuine; but a message of condolences for Late President Wa Mutharika is highly deceptive. Sata is on record for sowing seeds of discontent in Malawi against President Mutharika. We are merely witnessing Sata’s cloudy CROCODILE TEARS.

  7. I laughed when some mates of mine hinted that be careful when reconciling with Sata. One person who reconciled with this man passed on through some heart failure!

  8. Mr Sata’s sentments over the loss of Malawian leader will find difficulties to sink in people’s minds. Mr Sata belittled Dr Mbingu Wamu tharika by refusing to go to Malawi based on his personal and emotional feelings because he was deported from there while an opposition leader. He went a head to respect Bakili and Joyce Banda more, individuals at variance with Mbingu than his fellow head of state. How does he make up for his unprotocol approach over Mbingu’s death? Realities of life confound those who live by it through deception and woo public sympathy with ruthless skill, off the feelings of victimhood from the people. Sata is one such person and soon or later truth prevails over deception.

  9. Who will attend Wa Mutharika’s funeral? Please dont tell me George Chellah! Lol. I can not wish my President ill but all I expect is the truth to be told by those in Govt about my President’s health. God Bless Zambia.

  10. I hope Ukwa read the statement because i seriously doubt those would have been his views.

This actually shows he is not in a state to make a statement. Ukwa’s statement would have been sarcastic and full of contempt on both Mutharika and Wina.

chella should just be telling us where his boss is, not fabricating cosy statements.

  11. Whatever, Sata said is in line with African tradition: say good things about people when they die even if u do not mean it. Did some of you guyz expect him to castigate Bingu?

  12. it is truelly amazing the level of thinking of some of the bloggers. if you dont have anything to say just keep quiet unlike opening your mouths just to blab out nonsense that really makes a lot of noise.

  13. Check the picture above, did you notice Kaseba’s bokossi even protruding beyond the president’s ADC standing between them? And Zondwe by his gesture is showing how he digs in the bokossi. Imagine going to India for a prostate operation and Mr Patel in the process castrating you by mistake. Cwale Sata ku akengelela malaho tuna a Kaseba kuli kipeto kufelile seli pulu hasana ni kamuta hape asa cimbeki kwateni, mudaala cwale wa pulumukelela fa cwale. No wonder he is in hiding since he came back, umwa sililo tuna mucembela wabatu!

  14. Does anybody still believe Ukwa is still with us? I thought that it was Henry Banda who is on interpol so why is it that Ukwa has gone into hiding?

  15. Bufi bane, imisoshi yang’wena na Ukwa. He is rejoicing. He made Nakatindi disabled as chief advisor to Chiluba . He also hated Bingu. He is only sad that he is on the line up to Mwalule as per T.B jOHUA ‘S prophecy. Let him die quckly. If sata was meat , i would not eat, not even my dog

  16. #16 Muna and 27 Mwine  you seem to be the typical docile Zambians that can’t see anything else out of your little boxes.Whether Mr Sata did indeed forgive Mbingu or not is not for you to determine.Forgiveness is a choice and not a feeling and it is a very subjective matter.
Someone can forgive their ex husband but that does not mean they have to sleep in the same bed!!!All it means is that they do not hold anything against them and that they only wish them good.

  17. Now how does an ADC that small protect Ukwa? He could only save our beloved presdo from a shot to the belly- haha. Even Dr Kaseba is taller! Bwafya!!!

  18. I reconcilled with levy, he dies. Now that I am in power, I reconcilled with Chitimukulu he dies. I reconcilled with Mbingu he dies, I am  reconciling the BA 64 their princess dies.
