National Restoration Party (NAREP)president Elias Chipimo Jr

National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo Junior has said that his party did not see the need to dialogue with other opposition political parties in the country over the invitation by republican president Michael Sata to the Rio conference in Brazil.

Mr. Chipimo has stated that the concerns raised by other opposition political were not enough to turn down the invitation.

Mr. Chipimo said that the National Executive Committee of his party was comfortable with the invitation as conference was in line with the party’s vision to make the country an energy superpower that will address the many pressing challenges being faced.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Chipimo said that it is so unfortunate that the opposition in the country are dwelling on suspicion and leaving out real issues.

He noted that opposition political parties should not rely on unnecessary criticism and complaints but should instead engage with all stakeholders in a constructive and progressive manner.

Mr. Chipimo stated that development in the country can only come from resolute, collective and committed stakeholders by government working with the civil society, the private sector and even the opposition political parties.

And NAREP National chairman Joseph Mushalika has said that NAREP does not wish to engage in unnecessary attacks with leaders of other opposition political parties but stated that unwarranted attacks meant to divert people’s attention from focusing on real issues will not go unchecked.

Mr. Mushalika said that UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema should be the last person to state that he is allergic to President Michael Sata because not long ago, he was in an alliance with his party.

  1. You are indebted to Ukwa for the trip. Now its payback time. Time to sing songs of praises. By the way, when are you dissolving your party to join PF?

  2. Kabili ni ba yama aba kuchitile invite, why should you turn down your uncle’s invitation? Its a Government of the Bembas by the Bembas for the Bembas! Ubomba mwibala alya mwibala!

  3. Elias needs to answer questions like:

    1)  what he learnt from the trip.
    2)  how he is going to apply the knowledge acquired
    3)  how the lessons learnt can be communicated to those who did not have the privilege of
         joining the entourage

If such questions are not answered then it is going to go down in history as one of the many fruitless and money wasting trips which only serve to put money in the people that already have a lot of it. .

  4. African leaders should start putting their ideas and plans in black and white so that current and future generations can read and hopefully try to understand what they stand for. Technocrats should sit down and write a paper on what was learnt from the trip so that we can appreciate the purpose and reason for the same. There is a point when people like HH says CNP but it does not have to end there.

  5. I was hoping to join NAREP, because its leader is young, educated and not recycled but his trip to Brazil using tax payers money has been a set back for me. I am not sure who to trust now. Elias,
you need to explain fully why you did this to win my support again otherwise wanyela ku masamba!

  6. Anyone who believes this crap about making Zambia an Energy Superpower needs to have their head examined. The capacity is not there. These are just political gimicks like 90 days money in your pockets nonsense. I have met Chipimo Jr and I have heard him make a pitch of why he needs to be in State House. My conclusion was that he was too Naive and Childish. He is not even fit to be a permanent Secretary. He probably can make a good MP though. Bemba’s please stop supporting people just because they are Bemba and then insulting Tonga’s because they support HH. Please lets stop it.

    • Narrate your meeting with jnr &then indicate verbatim what made you think he was childish & naive!! Mudslinging for the sake of it, is not justified!
If anything, going by the leaders we have ended up with, just goes to show how naive the country is when it comes to politics!!

    • @Kamwendo,
This is not the platform for the kind of blow by blow detailed account of my meeting with Chipimo. Let me put it this way for you, Chipimo talks in platitudes that can not be achived in Zambia.

    • Please my brother have faith, Zambia has all it takes to become a superpower. We have uranium, water, bio etc

    • Ba Bricklayer, why tribal talk? Are you tribalist. Why associate Chipimo with Bembas? Some of us Bembas only look at candidates objectively and based on issues. that’s why some of us voted for Mazoka at 2001. You are very disappointing.

  7. Iam tired of this kapimo . Does any one know how much AMA Hule charge ku alpha or zyantemba am going to zed next month

  8. U HAVE SPOKEN BUT NEXT TIME ANNOUNCE TO THE COUNTRY THAT U HAVE BEEN INVITED BY PF AND U SEE NO NEED OF REFUSING. WHEN DO WE HAVE FIRST NAREP MP WHEN U ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN BY ELECTIONS

  9. And Tongas stop supporting HH just because he is Tonga. Can that balance the equation? No. I think we should use stochiometry in balancing this equation. What are the molecular masses of HH and Chipimo? 1 and 2 respectively, such that 1 mole of HH will just need eqivalent 0.5 mole of Chipimo (scale) to achieve similar political result. OK, it is possible to make Zambia an energy superpower because of…

  10. …Zambia’s potential for hydro, solar, wind and probably biogas. I tell you the truth, the shores of Bangweulu, Kampolombo and Kan’gwena lakes in Samfya can have wind turbine farms to generate electricity. Talk of the potential of great Kalungwishi river on Kawambwa/Mporokoso, at beautiful Kabwelume, Kundabwika, Lumangwe falls is phenomenal. Mumbuluma in Mansa/Mwense, Mumbotuta in Milenge…basop

  11. Apart from that high mountain ranges like Muchinga and great Zambezi plataeu in Southern Province can have great solar panel farms, whereby energy can be stored in huge batteries to suply power to 5 villages per solar farm. Talk of our huge tonnes of domestic waste in cities including sewer, it can be used to generate power! And so is Chipimo’s a mere dream? No it isn’t. Can we do it? YES WE CAN!

  12. Chipimo has a dream. Chipimo is Zambitious. You see ladies and gentlemen, we have so much scope for development and we need to be resolved.

  13. If we had the Chipimo agenda and Prof. CHIRWA with his technology or his connections and we have the Chinese with us and the Zambian youth for skilled and unskilled jobs and…and… Surely we can do it!!!

  14. Chipimo ukhuta ma allowance from Brazil then ayamba kuchosa yama mumenyo nama tooth picks and now he is throwing the tooth picks to us. Waitaya mwana, we shall remember this!! That you are unstable like Nevers and Nawakwi! No platform for your political agenda. We don’t need such leaders, not even in Pf. There is nothing wrong with just saying we are forming a coalition with PF, no need to be in the opposition. Its ok!! Donchi Kubeba!!

  15. Please ba NAREP ,participate in bye elections not every week press conference but nothing on the ground NOT even a councillor. No Action Talk Only (NATO)

  16. It happened. Your friends Chipimo and Nawakwi went to Brazil on invitation by the President and they are back. It is history now. This one incident is inconsequential to a voter in Dundumwezhi or Mapatizya.

  17. Since when did a nation become an energy superpower through attending conferences? The Rio conference was a yap-yap non-event that resulted in nothing and where people found the beaches of Copa Cabana more interesting than the air conditioned conference rooms.

  18. Chipimo spare us the nonsense. Who asked you to dialogue with anyone, you are compromised and you are not a factor. Read what Field Ruwe wrote about you on ZWD.

  19. No matter how you explain yourself Mr Chipimo, we find it very difficult to believe you. You have dented your image as a PF supporter. This government has caused so much pain to so many people, and for you to accept the invitation at the expense of the crying souls, using tax payers maoney, we find it very difficult to accept your explanation. You have lost credibility and I can assure you, no one will ever trust you. The best you can do now is join PF. You will be safer with them than us who feel oppressed by this government. So, stop insulting the people of Zambia by trying to justify your trip to Brazil. Even Nawakwi knows the damage she has done to herself. She has never been a leader but an optunist. We are watching you. We are no fools.

  20. If there is nothing wrong with going to Brazil on Sata’s account, then how come all of a sudden Nawakwi is insulting HH? Just declare now that you are working for the PF and not in the opposition.

  21. Chipimo when you came to south africa to launch your party, i attended your launch but after your compromise I consider you CNP. you will never rule Zambia, not with my vote.

  22. Sata himself while in opposition never went with any president. Why suddenly change of heart? The best would have upon coming back from the meeting, he would have called opposition leaders and say, I need your help to make the country energy efficient as learnt and define where opposition can come in and help.

  23. the young chap has dented his political image. many had hope in him but lol, down u go white haired young adult

  24. This day dreamer is putting the title of opposition President into ridicule, show your little muscle by atleast contesting any bye election if you are to be taken seriously,MC is overwhelmed by a lot of chola boys and praise singers, your voice just comes out as chileya (distorting the song)

  25. @Copper bullet, in anything you do knowledge is power. You also attended class to know how to write. I am sure at this conference there was a lot of information on enegy in terms of sources, cost, sustainability, technology, efficiency etc with many companies that deal in this business displaying what they do. So you can’t dismiss it altogether and knowing Chipimo, he can actually lecture to you on energy better.

  26. Elias, what did Sata feed you guys on the trip? You are yapping just like Edith now. Just disband your tuntemba parties and join the PF. you are already sata’s spokesperson organising his meetings with the opposition. Sata’s party has not mentioned that Sata is willing to meet the opposition but you are there as Sata’s spokesperson.

  27. “NAREP National chairman Joseph Mushalika has said that NAREP does not wish to engage in unnecessary attacks with leaders of other opposition political parties”

    Then, one sentence later…

“Mr. Mushalika said that UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema should be the last person to state that he is allergic to President Michael Sata because not long ago, he was in an alliance with his party.”

OK…. Clearly this fellow is not shy of contradictions so is well suited to politics. I only wonder now whether his memory is more like that of a housefly or a goldfish. Probably that is why he can’t say anything about what he learned on this trip since he has now forgot!

…I wonder if he remembers what shopping he did?

    • Iwe, that is not an attack. It is an observation. You seem to suffer logic deficiency, or maybe the English-as-a-fourth-language syndrome.

    • How is it not an attack to say that HH should be the last person to speak? And why was it “necessary” to make that remark?

  28. NAREP has been an appendage of PF, and now all the doubting Thomases can believe.Ati loyal opposition, where and how? Is it coincidence that both Elias and Edith absented themselves at the last minute to read out the resolutions by the opposition group early last month on the suspension of judges. The young man thinks he can become President by riding on the support of PF.We have discounted you already after seeing your true colours.Sorry Elias, when is the next trip?

  29. It is a serious deficiency of logic to expect all opposition parties to belong to one “club”. There is no law that says opposition parties have to all take the same stand and be hostile to the incumbent. It is a serious deficiency of logic indeed, bordering on mendacious prognostications and such redundancies.

    • Yes, there is no reason for opposition parties to agree – anyone is welcome to behave as a patsy if they choose.

Else, those are some mighty big words you use – mendacity, prognostication, even redundancy has four syllables so well done! Clearly do not suffer from English-as-a-fourth-language Syndrome so must be very proud. You may however wish to read George Orwell’s 1946 Essay, “Politics and the English Language”. One of the very good bits of advice he gives is to never use a long word where a short one will do.

  30. Many Heads of State attended the Rio conference right! Now tell me how many went with their opposition leaders like UKWA CNP? These *****s are taking the peace with public funds!!!!

  31. Chipimo you wasted my TAX for selfish ends. Tell me what you gonna do for me and country at large with the purported energy knowledge you have just acquired ????

  32. You haters, go back to your rotten watch-imbwa which you have contaminated. Leave chipimo alone. Not long ago, Lifwekelo was complaining that the president should have invited members from opposition with representation in parliament as opposed to NAREP. Double standards!!!!!! MMD, accept that you lost elections. As for UPND, you have been rejected and rejected further for every succeeding election because of your tribalism. Dont cheat yourselves that PF is for bembas, check your facts correctly. LEAVE CHIPIMO ALONE you rejects.

  33. From what i can read, you bloggers do not want the government of the day to work with the opposition. so now since this is the case, please do not complain when the opposition is sidelined!!! kwasila!!!

  34. Very Sad for Chipimo. Now i understand why such a vibrant young leader like John Phiri resigned his position as Secretary General of NAREP. I new that the problem was not with John but Chipimo. I heard that John joined the PF and i think John made the right decision because he has proved that he is more politically focused and mature and has a bright political future unlike Chipimo who is busy wasting people’s time with his fake intelligence by pretending to be opposition but at the same time eating with the government. John Phiri, we are watching you coz we see a savior in you for the young generation in Zambia. Chipimo stop wasting our time!

  35. Chipimo is a political light weight. The man is not a politician. He will be better off joining other political parties, like PF or MMD. On his own he may not even get to where HH is. Chipimo is a technocrat, not a politician. He’s like Mutati, Situmbeko, Magande and HH himself. Brains but not for politics.

  36. Don’t ccompare ppeople wwith mmaterial 2 HH wwe all know hi  4 ppolitical mcalculations

  37. Much of you guys are talking rubbish, Chipimo is intelligent and wise and I can bet his Party will form the next Government after PF.

  38. Hello, friend, we wholesale Cheap Chanel bags from china, which is cheap and high ( AAA+ ) quality, also we offer best service and free shipping for you

  39. Politics of hunger is what we have in Zambia. Politicians are after filling their stomachs and their pockets. They will grab any chance that comes their way. Chipimo is no different. Just wait and see soon, Chipimo and Nawakwi will be singing Glory! Glory! Hallelujah to PF government. Insala!!!!
