File:Former Northern province permanent secretary Mwalimu Simfukwe (l) with Christine Mutale and her triplets whom she named after former presidents Chiluba, Kaunda and Mwanawasa at their Mumbi- Mfumu village in Kasama.

A 39 year old woman of Lusaka’s George Compound has given birth to quadruplets and all boys.

The babies which were delivered from home and brought to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) this week are in stable condition although one has died due to some complication.

And Senior Registrar at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Dr. Monica Kapasa confirmed the development to ZANIS.
Dr. Kapasa said the three remaining babies are all in a stable condition and are breast feeding.

She explained that the children are on milk formula supplements because their mother does not have enough milk to breastfeed all of them.

Dr. Kapasa said the children who were delivered from home were weighing 1.5, 1.7 and 1.8 kilograms respectively for the first, second and third child.

And father of the children, Enock Phiri who was found at the hospital has appealed to government and other well-wishers for support to look after the children.

Mr. Phiri said the arrival of the children now brings the total number of children to eight adding that he will have difficulties looking after them as he is not working.

He explained that he has 5 older children with the oldest being 16 years old and has problems looking after them as he depends on piece of work for survival.

And the mother of the children could not help but cry as she lamented the difficulties she said she is going through to feed the children.

Mrs. Rosaria Phiri said amidst sobs that she sells at the market in George Compound to feed the five children adding that the coming of the three will now increase trouble to her and the family.

  1. Please have yourselves sterilised so that we don’t hear of even more babies soon. I am sure well meaning Zambians will come to your help but not for too long. Children are your responsibility and not that of the public.

  2. Man did Government help you in shagging? Why do u appeal for such help when u must be responsible enough for anything u bring to surface of mother earth.

  3. Why have children when they know they cant support them. Condoms are cheaper than what they are going to spend on child care.

  4. Why producing so many children when u are poor. Just one or two are enough. If u produce children, you are responsible for their needs. Children do not apply to be born. You are accountable for your sins. Get family planning. Its free and then u will enjoy sex better or use condoms.

  5. I thnk th two must be MAD! In th first place it was th two enjoying sex. Second, thy hd prblms b4 on th 5 thy had, ddnt thy thnk of th burden thy gonna hav. You know its stupidity doing somethng,,,,moreova producing children and you expect someone else to take care of thm on your behalf. REALLY STUPID!

  6. Ba Enock! It is not GRZ and well wishers job to feed and look after your children. You must not father if you cannot look after the kids; basi. Go for a vasectomy which Dr. Manda is more than ready to do on you for free.

  7. I know Zambia is not densely populated but to keep on having children with no proper plan is a sign of poverty mentality.Children are a blessing to God and a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children (grand children) a practice that Zambia has got a long way to learn. You cannot bring up children with hand outs! The man who CANNOT provide for his family is worse off than unbeliever too! If the woman was a widow this would be a different story but that man need to go and hunt to feed his family. To be a man of the family you as a man needs to provide shelter, food, clothing, education and guidance to the family.

  8. awe bane mwale lalana mweka so find means to look after your children. its not the governments resonsibility. mwalefilwa to loo after abali five elo mwayabikapo nabambi, muleshininkisha. thats why kwaliba family planning. the problem is that abamu komboni sex is the only entertainment!

  9. Just name the children Sata, Milupi, Hikainde, Nevers and step aside to allow the politicians undo each other on who provides the best support

  10. And you will blame the politicians for not providing adequate employment, housing, education and whatever when you are actually the ones creating these problems. Family planning is very important people pleeeeeaaase

  11. Mwe bantu the man has appealed for help. For the sake of children, give him support. The children are innocent. Let us not punish the children for the sins of the parents. I hope teh govt have listened and that they will help this family. Even if it means putting them in an orphanage or with foster parents, or adoption, or other forms of support like accomodation and money.

The parents themselves need to be sterilized.

  12. This is a tough call Mr, wellwishers are there to help orphanes not your kids sir, at least both of you are alive and can still provide for your kids. Think of other kids who don’t have both of their parents? ahhhh? so sterilise for now and forget about manna from heaven….

  13. 39 and she are still birthing? How can she deliver 4 babies at home? Did she have antinatal care to show what she was carrying? Dont appeal to government to remedy your foolishness, other people in Zambia have real problems.

  14. Better help ophans. There are a lot of kids whose parentes have passed-on..they deserve help but you two are still alive, you can work hard and look after your kids.IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU HAD 5 CHILDREN AND YOU WHERE SUFFERING…SO WHY PRODUCE AGAIN? That is your bitter pil to chew. You enjoyed sex the two of you and no one helped you…now why should somebody help you this time around?Even the BIBLE says its the parents duty to look after their offspring.Nousense!

  15. ZANIS, do they have reporters in this organisation? A 39 year old woman of Lusaka’s George Compound has given birth to quadruplets and all boys. She gave birth to all boys? The three remaining babies are all in a stable condition and are breast feeding. Really? at their age they have already started breast feeding? Anywa,y If they are boys they cant breast feed ha ha ha!

  16. It is very strange that the poor are very productive in terms of baring babies. This attitude has to stop and people have to stop aiding people who produce children they cannot support. Her age is not bad, as I have a friend who is 44 and she has a 9 months old baby. She is a woman of means and has properties and will surely leave an inheritance even for this late comer of hers.

  17. Children are a blessing from God. Don’t hate the guy. He only planned on 1 but the powers that be blessed him with more.
