FILE: President Sata and former United State president George W. Bush

Republican President Michael Sata has praised former United States President George Bush for having cared for Africa during his tenure of office. President Sata said he is happy that former President Bush cared for Africa a lot during his Presidency.

President Sata hoped that other heads of states could emulate President Bush and assist African Countries in combating diseases. He said this when former United States President George Bush paid a courtesy call on him at State House today.

And President Sata said that a lot of people in Zambia don’t pay much attention to cervical cancer. Mr Sata noted that Zambians pay more attention to diseases such as diarrhea and Tuberculosis-TB.
The Head of state said despite people not paying attention to cervical cancer, it is the number one killer disease among women in Africa.

President Sata challenged Former President Bush to also consider raising funds to fight prostate cancer among the males. Mr Sata said it would be unfair if attention was just paid to cervical cancer and not prostate cancer.

The Head of State stressed that both cervical and prostate cancer need to be treated at the same level. President Sata said government was grateful to President Bush for assisting Zambia in combating cervical cancer.

President Sata also noted that the operations of government need to be decentralized so that it becomes easy to transport patients to bigger hospitals. He said at the moment government was facing serious challenges in transporting patients.

Meanwhile, Former President Bush said he deeply cares for Zambia hence his second visit to the country in a space of 6 months . Mr Bush said he was happy to note that President Sata and the First Lady together with government are committed to fighting cervical cancer.

Former President Bush said he was proud to assist the Zambian people in dealing with the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.

  1. Women’s reproductive health is a job for Zambian women themselves. Guard your bodies with care.

Stop inserting herbs in your vajayjay for men’s pleasure. If your man prefers dry s.e.x, let him do a hole in the wall.

  2. Ameno mafupa. Help from the west comes with consequences. Two visits in 6 months I pity Zambia. Mark my words.

  3. Good example of a good world leader, American leaders are always better than British leaders towards African countries. Thumbs up George B

  4. Thank you for the food but you forgot to bring the utensils, how are we going to eat the food?

  5. Mr Mumba in the first picture, God knows why you would want to display your picture when there is nothing to look at, at you I don’t want to say you are ugly because that will be stating a fact anyone knows

Mr Bush is either bored or he is mistaking Zambia to a country with a better pedigree why on earth would such an Icon come to Zambia and hide behind the blanket of caring for Zambians

In the interest of fairness, Zambia is being mistaken for Zimbabwe which by the way still has better erected buildings in its capital in Zambia despite the turmoil Mugable has done. Why not Malawi Mr Bush? Us citizens are distancing ourselves from Zambia yet you are quick to ran back again in a short period of time?

    I need answers

    Thanks

    • Mama Mushota, your name if true comes from a very decent group of people, please reflect that in your arguments … as for personal attacks, I have never ever responded to any of your blogs but today I am compelled to. I love my ugly face, I love me … proud of me. What an ugly looking thing God made, I am proud of Him.

By the way the reason someone like you has such an inferiority complex is because you can’t appreciate the woman that God made you to be, so you try to compensate by looking for something else in other races.

Like Solomon once wrote in Song of songs, I am black and beautiful and if you have problems with that take it up with God, He created me, tell him what an ugly thing He made. Don’t you bring them cheap shots to me, girl. You are way below my league.

    • I think this baby bafoon Mushota was born probably long after we had already finished secondary school Brave. She has no clue that you could probably be her potential employer. Chicken feed like this mwana wesu, you tell them off rightly as you did and then commit them to the dust bin if they continue. We have no time to waste notu utubana twamufisonso.

    • Mushota is not a woman. He is a man. Most bloggers realised that and stopped responding to him. He is always looking for attention.

    • Mushota you have grown faster than an ‘diot. you need to slow down we mwaume.you are exposing yourself we now know you.attention seeker..

    • Mushota, you are a disgrace. To this nation, a brainless gold digger. Your comments prove how shallow your knowledge of this country is, look at high profile western visits in the last 6months, what do you think they ar after? Do you know there is a part of Zambia where only americans are allowed? And I don’t mean the embassy. I am truly ashamed that you are my country mate! Shame on you

  6. Body language says Mr Bush is not comfortable with Ukwa. Probably ambassador storella briefed him about Ukwa’s mental condition.

  7. Infact come to think about it i should have knelt and kissed his hand like i did to the other musungu.
    Thank you George

    • Imwe ba Mumba why even bother to reply to IT, this boy’s posts are all vague meaning this individual has no clue whatsoever about Zambia or the name itself it was googled and chosen from some Zambian page. Only newcomers respond to this boy, don’t feed the troll!!

  9. I just admire this man (GEORGE BUSH). Him, ronald reagan, gorbachev, tony blair are my role models. Any one comderming his coming must be choking with envy, typical of under 5s from the CNS party.

  10. WHAT IS KILLER BUSH DOING IN ZAMBIA. HE KILLED THOUSANDS OF INNOCENTS PEOPLE IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN .HE HAS BOOD ON HIS HANDS AND HE NOW WANTS TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT HE CARES FOR THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WITH HIS 50,000 US DOLLARS.WE SHOULD TELL HIM THAT WE DONT NEED HIS BLOODY DOLLARS.SORRY I DONT WISH THE US PEOPLE ANY BAD FEELINGS BECAUSE ITS JUST BUSH THAT I DONT LIKE AS HE WAS A BIG WAR MONGER WITH HIS POODLE BLAIR. AND TOGETHER THEY HAVE SHED LOT OF INNOCENT BLOOD. .

  11. Mr Mumba I apologies, I had no right to say what I said

I realize we come from the same province as well, and besides my Dad has always insisted on respecting the elder

    Please forgive me

    Thanks

    • Your apology has been accepted … your roots are very decent, I know your entire family in our province, they are decent people … please reflect that in your blogs and don’t be misguided … not only that grandpa (ku bufumu bwesu) used to tell me of our distant relationship through an uncle’s marriage to your auntie (ku bufumu bwenu) … I have nothing more to say, you good take care of yourself, now.

    • Next time young lady, bite your tongue before you say something. Fwe bwakwa mwine lubemba twalichindikisha abakalamba. But I am glad you have apologised to B R Mumba.

  12. Mama Mushota: Your apology has been accepted … your roots are very decent, I know your entire family in our province, they are decent people … please reflect that in your blogs and don’t be misguided … not only that grandpa (ku bufumu bwesu) used to tell me of our distant relationship through an uncle’s marriage to your auntie (ku bufumu bwenu) … I have nothing more to say, you good take care of yourself, now.

As for George W Bush, tread lightly and leave the rest to us … thanks a trillion.

  13. meant to say …  I have nothing more to say, you take “good” care of yourself, now. Not the other way round.

  14. Chibafye na relationship ifyo mwaisenda na ba US, kuti mwachita benefit nabo balechita benefit. Nomba bane nga mwaya muchalo mwabe nkonde kuti walila, umuntu takwente nsapato but ali ne mfuti, ba US abaleshitisha instead ukuleta development. Ama mines ayalelemanika abantu bali supplier!! Ukuchula kwesu kunonka kwabo. Echo tulefwaila technology not ukwisa mu kupainter ka clinic! Ba War Lord abo mulebatalusha ku BL (WP) mwalishiba kwali ba ma rumour ya oil! Elyo na Uranium 1st grade ku NWP! Then mwalimona chi embassy bakula Ku Lusaka! GALAMUKANI! GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  15. In general terms umwaice Mushota is getting mature mwe. She is growing wiser. She was too naughty sometime back. Twatasha mayo mwakula. Mayo Mushota we mwine Chishinga kasunga wa bantu. Epashili pa kuleka.

    • Its because peopel heeded the call to ignore her (or him). The best way to help Mushota is not to repsond to her (or him). Many people realised that.

  16. Before you make ANY comments about George W’s presence in Zambia, do a bit of research. For example: google out “The Carlyle Group”. Then google “Carlyle + Bush”. See what comes out. The look at the people in the Carlyle’s Group who have been or have come to Zambia recently. Then you can make your comments.

  17. Breath of fresh air indeed!

Ba tubulu, munyela pamenshi like Mushota and Mumba being described as ‘descent’, thats really a change for the better.

  18. WHY DOES THIS MURDERER CHI BUSH KEEP COMING TO ZAMBIA.GEORGE BUSHES VISIT TO ZAMBIA TWICE IN 6 MONTHS IS REALLY QUESTIONABLE BECAUSE HE IS GOOD AT INVADING OTHER INDEPENDEANT COUNTRIES TO STEAL THESE COUNTRIES MINERAL AND WEALTH AT ANY COST AS HE HAS KILLED HUNDERDS OF THOSAND INNOCENT PEOPLE OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN AND IN PALESTINE.WE SHOULD WATCH HIM VERY CLOSELY.THE CHARITY WORK HE IS DOING IN ZAMBIA IS ONLY A CHEAP GIMMICK.ZAMBIA SHOULD BE SENDING THIS WAR MONGER TO THE HAUGE JUST AS THE AMERICANS AND THE WEST ARE SENDING AFRICAN LEADERS TO THE HAUGUE TO FACE GENOCIDE .WHY DOES THE HAUGE ONLY TRY AFRICAN LEADERS LIKE CHARLES TAYLOR,MUGABE,GADDAFFI AND OMAR BASHIR OF SUDAN. AND NOT PEOPLE LIKE BUSH ,THIS IS JUST DISGUSTING AND ROTTEN THING

  19. That’s why we will never develop as a country with this primitive mentality. A former US President who has contributed tremendously to the fight against HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Cancer, poverty reduction not only through the US government agencies but through his own foundations run by his wife comes to our dilapidated country to offer help and support, and all we can do is insult him? And don’t nobody without facts tell me he’s a a murderer as Kachigamba did. You have no idea as to what happened on september 11. We desecrated anything gabonese and were ready to go to war with Gabon following after our entire national team persihed. Now imagine almost 3000 americans, some with entire families wiped out during that attack.

  20. @ Mumba iam very much inspired by the way you have responded to my young Sister Mushota , i have leaned something. God bless you my boss.

  21. By the way, if he did not come up with a deliberate policy to help Zambia via the offering of free HIV/AIDS medication, I do not even know how many people would have died. By going against even his congress, he saved millions of not only Zambian lives but the whole african continent. George Bush might have made his mistakes as a human being, but he is far more benevolent than he’s perceived. Surely of all the countries, he picks on Zambia instead of more developed nations like South Africa, Namibia, etc and we still cry foul? Kwena fwe ma zambians tatutasha.

  22. #20 KACHIGAMBA, you are a Muslim fanatical agent who has no feelings for what Bush and his country went throught the attacks. Leave Bush alone. what have you done for Zambia? why didn’t you go to do what Bush has done? all you chaps critisicing what Bush is doing in our nation should be ashamed of yourself.

  23. Ba B R Mumba SR,I salute you with the way you have dealt with Mushota on the comments above . You have shown that maturity is the best answer .How I wish we had people like you in our political scene

  24. Zambians lets learn 2 aprecit……. whn some one is doing whtz right, who ar we not 2 4give if GOD can 4give?whtz long with bush family 2 help people in need?

  25. Thanks BR Mumba. You are making the young lady grow in the head. Bonse fye abena Luapula ntondo ku calo ca busaka ku cimya mabimbi ukuya kwa mwine lubemba ntambalukuta mulopwe Chitimukulu ne Mbala-Lungu Tanganyika ukuya no Muchinga wa lubangula mu Chinsali na Nakonde wa cilemba ukuya shoka Muyombe na Chama kuli ba muchime ba Mbuya, Chipata ukubwela ne Mpika yonse twaisa bikapo no Lusaka na Kopalabeluti…

  26. …ukuya shinguluka ilamba no lunda pamo nga abena kola. Nabanesu abengi nganshi mu central, eastern, northwestern, western and southern are all our family. We must not take minor political jabs that hint on segregation as important. Overall we are supposed to be one big happy family called Zambia. And BR Mumba calls you the beautiful people of the great Zambian enterprise. Let’s be proud men!

  27. Mr Bush, why don’t you talk about you investments in zambia? definitely you are not here entirely for charity nor community service. Maybe you want to start trouble with the lozi chaps, lol

  28. @mushota…mulekwatako insoni and you should reason before you do your post..B R MUMBA is one of the respected blogger on this site and its sad that you havent seen it..we all respect the big man and we get some knowlegde everyday from his contributions…….may God forgive you surely…

  29. Mumba and Mushota, please take your ‘province’ talks elsewhere, some of us are not interested and do not care. Ati coming from good people, ha! a clan of thieves.

  30. ba upnd you claim that ka hh has money but what has he done for the zambians.so leave bush and lets give him a hand for his small contribution.viva my president for being recognised by high profile people, such as.bush, ban, clington, gates and many more.it shows that mr president you have qualities of the world leader .i know some useless opposition parties are annoyed with this since bush has not visited them has he has seen no qualities in them shame.

  31. @ Mumba and Mushota this is not twitter or facebook  that u can be chating…..that madness thats in u guys  must be removed….

  32. Lusaka Times you have edited what our President said to reflect only the good things. What a shame you have now moved from MMD supporter to PF supporter. I saw your inclination some time back but this article just confrms my suspicion on your change of goal posts.

  33. Bush has done more for Zambia than what HH, Sata and all those party presidents have done.

Let’s appreciate Bush, his wife and their charity work for making life better for Zambians.

  34. The geopolitical position of Zambia is militarily strategic for any super power looking for a beach head in Africa from which it can launch both pre-emptive and counter strikes against its adversaries operating on the African continent such as Al Qaeda. Add to this the Copper resources and the need to counterbalance the power and influence of China (interestingly China also views Zambia as a key/strategic partner in Africa). USA is actually shifting its military focus from the Middle East to China. To this effect USA establishing military bases in Australia (To China have withi easy reach , militarily).

  35. The financial benefits of hosting US military bases is huge and beyond the scope of this blog suffice to say economies of countries like the Philipines were at one time largely shouldered by the US Military base economy much the same way Zambia is dependent on copper. Africa is the next big thing after the Asian boom and the big boy s are sharpening their carving knives.

  36. OPPORTUNITY ONLY KNOCKS ONCE &WE HAVE TO PLAY IT SMART &MAXIMIZE BENEFITS. I do not see the US looking for economic opportunities in Zambia (Africa) but rather military beach heads. On the other hand I do not see the Chinese looking for military footholds in Africa but resources/economic footprints. We can satisfy both superpowers’ needs whilst maximizing our gains & in the process leapfrogging to a middle income country.

  37. Youth unemployment and the smallness/insignificance of the Zambian market can be addressed/boosted by the US military’s spending power. Indigenous Zambians low participation in the economic activities/entrepreneurship can be addressed by coercing the Chinese FDI in Zambia to be fully integrated with local Zambian entrepreneurs not only in trade but ownership as well. At the moment the two (local economies) are decoupled

  38. BR Mumba, Well done. I wish you could also bring some unchallenged Zambian minds into line from Western Australia. We need to see more wise and mature dialogs like you have humbly potrayed.
We can only learn and thanks to you.
    More we seek from you.
    Chanda

  39. Theoretician, I agree with you that we need to be strategic in handling our relationships with other countries, especially the “big powers”. My problem is that we will find it difficult to do this with the kind of langauge our President uses (see Post and Zambia Watchdog versions of this story)

  40. shut up you wiesels. BUsh is cool. why did u allow him to come u mean the cias in Zambia did not conduct an enquiry into Bush`s stint. Tourists all over are now interested in kabwe Town bcoz of Bush`s visit. What Is Zambai for Bush to hav a hidden Agenda. mwaba ukuto bela Lumanda iya ku Flambeya..
