Former defense minister Ben Mwila, has lost another child in less than forty days of losing his son,Yoram, in a fatal accident along Great East road.
Lily Mwila died yesterday at the University Teaching hospital.
She had survived an accident in a family BMW car, that killed her brother, Yoram, last month near Lusaka’s Manda Hill shopping Mall.
Lily went in a coma on June 9, the day of the accident until her death.
Efforts to save her life were made by evacuating her to South Africa on June 18, only to be flown back to Zambia on July 9, still in a coma.
She was readmitted to the university teaching hospital where she passed away.
Mr Mwila’s two children, Lily and Yoram, were accident victims on June 9 this year.
rest in peace. drinking and driving is bad
May God comfort the Mwila’s family

Tell us what you know about the accident. No another vehicle involved???
Kanjimaano, there was no other car involved. According to earlier reports, they had been at Arcades until late pretty late (don’t know whether they were drinking or not). Later around 01.00hrs, they left Arcades and were involved in the accident somewhere near Manda Hill. Apparently the driver hit the curb and lost control of the vehicle.
Drinking and driving..? Most likely…
Mr Mwila needs our prayers in this very difficult time.
It is always a difficult time to lose a member of family but losing two in succession is even hard to stomach. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mwila family and I hope God will give them the best of guidance that they deserve in this trying times.
Only the Opposition’s family members are dying, the PF Ministers are intact…

Your comment is unwarranted. What has that got to so with anything???
Actually, in case you are unaware, BY is retired from politics. That said, your comments are uncalled for.

To the writer of the article – Reporting a death has a structure, i.e, age of the person, survivors, occupation, etc. Thanks.
SATA can you give BY a ministry to run, he is miserable now that 2 of his drunken children are dead. How dare does one go drinking with a sister till dawn?? atleast na ka ATM not a blood sister? Anyway is the BMW involved in the accident on SALE?? MTSRIP
you are ruthless! Do u have a conscious? niwebo satana? Imwe mwebantu, the devil just blogged. eh! Kwena wandabwisha. nokwisa ipusha beamer pa last.
Don’t sweat it assassin, the Internet and this site are barely regulated so psychopaths do show themselves from time to time. Regarding the tragic story, MHSRIP.
Assassin; I might be off topic but am not impressed at your copying of my brand identity. That said, Akulu Mphuno, you seem to have a vendeta against the bereaved family. Sadly, am sure they have more to care about than your sadistic rants. May your soul rest in peace soon!
Akulu mphuno, yes we feel your bitterness. For you, it’s personal but get over it man.
You ruthless cunt! Firstly find out why thye were out that late in the first place.. i think celebrating the return of my brother counts. Secondly the BMW.. didn’t belong to the Mwila family and if happened to be on sale, you wouldnt be worthy of it regardless of the condition. When u have nothing nice to say, keep your durrttty mouth shut and sit back an observe..ur opening too many people up to your idiocy! Go jump off a cliff [-([-(  Rest in peace Lilly x

Very devastating. RIP Lily
M.H.S.R.I.E.P
Hearty condolences to the Mwila’s.
My condolences ba kalamba. My God give you the strength to handle this difficult situation.
#15, you are spot-on. Maybe you should go to Zambia and teach LT’s editorial staff how to write reports and editorials in general. Every article in LT is full of mistakes. What do you think?
#15 & 22. That’s the price one haz to pay when quality and standardz are thrown to the gutter.
Condolencies to the family. I gather from bloggers the siblings went drinking alcohol. In Zambia law is never respected even if its to one’s advantage. PLEASE, fellow Zambians don’t drink-drive. The end result is obvious. Respect the law. Its there to protect you.
@ 8, its coz opposition family members, bitterness is causing them to do all sorts of things.
Mwila’s sins of gun-running for diamonds in Angola have come back to haunt the Katangese. So sad though to see such young souls succumb to death so violently leaving elderly parents. May the lord rest their souls in eternal peace.
MYSRIP my sister
Am sorry for BY
#s 8,16 & 25 you’re stupid fools! what kind of animals are you who want to make fun out of a terrible thing like losing two children within a space of 40 days. Friends let us not forsake our humanity. You may laugh today not knowing what awaits you tomorrow.
1,8,16 & 25 you are animals and not human beings and your comments on this particular topic are of no value.if you are trying to get carriers as stand up comedians get in touch with Bob Mkosha who will also tell you that he doesn’t joke when people are mourning.Anyway let me end here you may be giving advise to people who will live forever…….mwalilwala na aids bafikala:die slow-fili uko tuleya
careers not carriers-sorry nabankalifya bafikala 1,8,16, na 25
Elyo tulelosha mwansekesha. Ngamwakalipa mulalufyanya. Napachililo palalosha ifipumbu
Its only those that have lost like the Mwilas that comprehend what the family is going through now. Alcohol or not, this is not the time to tease or play the blame game. The best all of us can do is be empathetic. Losing 2children in such a short time can never be joked about. May the Mwilas find strength, and comfort in God. MHSRIP.
# 16, i really feel sorry for you.
Truly, you don’t joke about death. Today it is the Mwilas that are mourning, tomorrow, it is you who are making fun of death and the Mwilas. So for you you, 1, 8, 16 and 25, who have ‘eternal life’ good for you.

Too bad, very sad news!!…whether drunk or whatever, let’s be human enough to symphathise with the two young souls that have departed this Earth.Death can come to anyone at any time.Let’s grow up Zedians,we have a culture and that culture is to mourn together with our friends or foes iregardlessly!!
rest in peace.
Some comments are not suitable in certain occasions like this one. God forgive them because they think all will be ok every time!
The passing of Lily iz sad. May the good Lord Jehova God Almighty give strength to the Mwilaz and friendz. Az for 1, 8, 16 and 25, be mindful that no amount commedy/jokes get any attention when there iz a loss of life, however funny.
Akhulu Mpuno, You are an *****, to say the least!!!
Sad as it maybe, one wonders whether it was A MEDICAL DECISION THAT WAS MADE concerning Evacuation, or whether it was all done by some higher offices – such lack of confidence in Local medics will take us no where, we just seem unable to learn – Stop asking diasporans to come back to such trashy decision making!!
May the good Lord be with the Mwila family in this trying moment.
# 1,8,16, na 25 mufiwelewele bafikala. REST in PEACE Mwila.
May Her Soul Rest in Peace. Its not easy matter loosing your beloved children Ba B.Y. We are all in it together, what differ are causes and times, but death is death.

So sorry Mr. Mwila. I can only imagine the enormous pain that you are going through right now. May the Lord comfort your family in these trying moments..May both deceased RIP..
this is such a huge loss!!!
May her soul Rest In Peace…
It was a terrible accident knowing the speed that a BMW can accelerate to.I was at the scene. This freak accident was due to speed. The impact was just too much for the occupants.Lilly bore injuries due to impact. This was a gory scene.Blood and fresh tainted all over the metal of the car.I do not believe alcohol was behind this crash. As they pulled them out, I noticed what looked like a fashion magazine. One of the occupants could have been browsing through the magazine and distracted the driver.Just my layman opinion.
1, 8, 16 AND 25.BANE TEPASHO APA OLO KU DRAMA. DRAMA KUMUSHI KUMWENU. DO NT JOKE ON ISSUES TO DO WITH DEATH. U DO NT HOLD YO LIVES IN YOUR HANDS BUT GOD. LETS POST COMFORTING WORDS NOT STUPID THINGS HERE. IN BEMBA THEY SAY “UMUCHELE UKUFINA UNTU AUSENDELE. BECOZ U VE NT LOST ANY MEMBER OF YOUR BIOLOGICAL FAMILY THATS Y U AR POSTING SUCH NASTNG THINGS BUT IF U WER TO TEST DEATH IN YO FAMILY U WOULD VE CONQUERED WAT OTHER FELLOW BLOGGERS AR WRITING .
HOWEVER, MAY GOD GIVE THE MWILAS FAMILY STRENGTH DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME 2012 WILL NEVER BE A GUD YEAR TO REMEMBER. LILLY REST IN PEACE U VE FOLLOWED YO BROTHER YORAMU TO SLEEP.
Rest in peace. it is lesson to all of us. let us not loose sense when we stink rich. too much ubwangashi children of the rich people.
Very sad moment indeed for the Mwila family, putting you in our prayers. MHSRIP
Seeing the nasty comments one cannot help but conclude the internet has turned some Zambians into Chainama cases.
I don’t know why some over-zealous retards are assuming alcohol was a factor. It was not mentioned so stop playing arm-chair detectives over other people’s loss. Any loss of life is regrettable.
Sad for the Mwilas we pray for them and may the lord almighty during this difficult time. MYSRIP Lily and condolences to the Living Mwilas.
So sad! My our God strengthen the Mwila family.
Really heart renching, so sad.
Yaba…Sorry Ba Mwila.. infwa shimo shamufulo….RIP
