PATRIOTIC FRONT director for media and publicity Chanda Mfula has said that the opposition MMD should allow the ruling party to repair the damage the former ruling party caused to the country.
He was reacting to MMD Die-Hard national co-ordinator Bowman Lusambo who yesterday said PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba should not have traveled to Ghana on behalf of President Sata to attend the burial of President John Atta Mills who died last month.
Mr Lusambo said Mr Kabimba should not be involved in any government functions.
Mr Mfula said the PF will not allow itself to be dragged into petty issues, at the expense of creating jobs and improving the economy.
“I advise the MMD to be meaningful to the affairs of this country. What they are raising are non-issues. Let them talk about issues that affect people and we will listen,” Mr Mfula said.
He said the MMD leader Nevers Mumba is abusing his position by raising non-issues. Mr Mfula said Mr Kabimba would not even bother to respond to the petty issues the MMD is raising.
“We know Dr Mumba has problems running the MMD but the former ruling party must focus on issues which will help the growth of democracy and development, instead of talking about Mr Kabimba heading a delegation or President Sata joking with George Bush,” he said.
In his remarks on Mr Kabimba, Mr Lusambo said the PF secretary general should not have been part of the delegation that went to Ghana because he does not represent government.
“Mr Kabimba has no right to be part of government functions,” Mr Lusambo said.
He said it is an abuse of public funds to include a party official on government programmes.

I was made to believe that the position of the secretary general of the ruling party was made to be a government position. Where was MMD when this was announced. We are back in the days of the party and its government
abuse of public funds. and this cadre odesnt want to talk about this abuse….? shame shame, if he can prove he went on his own cost and not on my cost we will not talk about it. MMD is right to question this abuse and every well emaning ZaMBIAN including teh post should condemn this abuse and counsel their colleagues in Government.

How does Wynter’s attending Atta Mills funeral help create jobs and repair the economy, Mr. Mfula? What colleration is there between the two? Can I be educated on this Mr. Mfula. From the look of things PF is causing more damage to the economy than repair it.
Ok Wynter should not have travelled using tax payers money period. These are queries PF should be clarifying if they still want to have the peoples trust.Hmmm “raising non-issues” huh? Why is PF trying to get HH to the police over some comment when there are far more important issues affecting the people that need to be addressed?Or is that such an issue…have the people expressed their fear over what HH said?and yet the same government won’t look after its people when they are shot at by chinese in their own nation..
You are right Mr. we should be discussing the issues affecting the people but remember that its the party in power to set the agenda. The agenda is set by the things they do. You have ministers but a party cadre is leading the delegation, people want to know why, you have the vice president, a minister acts for the president instead, people want to know why, a priest is deported without giving reasons and people want to know why?????? so dont be stupid Mr. party cadre. Its true PF is power but dont think you own Zambia.

at one time i was an inner sider in the mmd,from president to presido ,at their used to be a party cadre in our delegation when visiting other countries.so the trend was set by mmd and they know it for sure.but did winter head the delegation? if not what was the main reason why he was part of the govt delegation?pf and mmd are just the same.
