PRESS STATEMENT BY HANS PAULSEN
On 23 and 24 August 2012, it was reported on Radio Phoenix news,Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation television and radio
including the daily newspapers namely Daily Mail, Times of Zambia and the Post Newspapers that I, Hans Paulsen was arrested in Makeni,Zambia and subsequently deported to Uganda on the premise that I was in possession of two work permits one from Sierra Leone and the other under the name of Zamtel.
I would like to put it on record and express my utmost disappointment at the false statement made by the Minister of Home Affairs, Edgar Lungu who falsely and maliciously made a statement in the media that I had been deported from Zambia when in fact I have never been in Zambia since January 2012. This is the time that I resigned from Zamtel and subsequently left Zambia for my home country, Uganda. The foregoing can be verified by the immigration officials in Uganda and from my passport. It is with regret that a senior member of the government can carelessly issue such a false and sensitive statement without verifying whether or not the information is correct. [pullquote]I would like to put it on record and express my utmost disappointment at the false statement made by the Minister of Home Affairs, Edgar Lungu who falsely and maliciously made a statement in the media that I had been deported from Zambia when in fact I have never been in Zambia since January 2012[/pullquote]
It is also regrettable that the media in Zambia acted unprofessionally by falsely reporting that I had been deported from Zambia when in fact not. The media lamentably failed to act professionally and ethically by not verifying the story from myself on whether I had in fact been deported from Zambia. It is a well known practice worldwide that the media must always verify their stories and accord all the parties an opportunity to hear their side of the story.
In view of the foregoing, my reputation has been greatly injured and demeaned in the eyes of right thinking members of the public both in Zambia and abroad. By the said statement by the Minister and the reports by the media, my reputation has been lowered, brought into ridicule, odium and contempt.
As a result of these defamatory remarks by the Minister of Home affairs, I demand that the government of Zambia should publicly retract the false statement and apologise to me. Further, I also demand that the media mentioned herein or any media that the falsely
reported that I was deported from Zambia retract their reports and tender an apology to me publicly.
Yaba!!!!
mmmm… Will Lungu survive this? I take it if no apology is forthcoming Mr. Paulsen will sue?
CNP government.
Ouch!
Who then should we believe?
This lungu must be fired he seems to be making false statement remember he also lied that the catholic priest who was deported had no work permit. Mr Sata sir what kind of government are you running we tired of these silly things!
yayayayaya…donti kubeba all the way
When are our gov’t officials and ministers going to ever learn that you do not comment on individual’s cases…
That’s your government at its best. Does Zambia deserve all this. Hardly a day passes by without some unprecedented embarrassment, is it a curse or what? We all need to fervently pray for the healing of Zambia.
Zambian Press and Govt officials astound me!!! Where did the deportation story come from? Are these all a bunch of illiterate immature imbeciles?
If this statement is true then Lungu should be dismissed. The fella seems to love media attention! A few days ago he was in news claiming some individuals, he did not name, were trying to corrupt him! MC this punk is going to continue embarrassing you if you don’t act.
Is this the lawyer who was once banned by the LAZ?
mr Lungu springs as an incompetent minister for some reason
Thanks
I cant believe myself but i will say this,’Well written Mushota, amazing insight’ lol!!! And am serious…
Mushota…Mushota…what happened here that you stayed on topic…impressive!!
Hats off to Mushota when she can at least score one against THIS RAPIDLY SINKING CNP CHIBWATO!!!!!
F@cking circus!
who is telling now…..we need proof of deportation documentation and immigration records at airport. which plane this guy used, ticket # etc. which country was he sent to and which authorities received and confirmed that their national has been deported. now thats what we call invistigative journalism. Both Govt and LT should tell us this otherwise we are now getting confused.
Mr Lungu, the Police, Immigration dept are under your ministry and you are the one who supposedly signed the deportation order.
1. Who did the Police or Immigration dept arrest?
2. Whose deportation order did you (Minister) sign?
In Paulsen’s statement, while he strongly refutes the deportation he is silent on having been found with equipment that govt was looking for at the time of his arrest.
What’s going on here? We demand to know the truth on this saga?
Ever since Mr.Lungu took up this position it has been about deportations and unverified stories.
Mwaona ka- maboza. Ati muzungu anikonde. Trying to play nice to their chief lier CNP- never mind the 90 days stupidity and the like! Lies-lies and lies so that the chief CNP can see them to be working and yet they are not. They are just exposing their stupidity beyond reasonable doubt. I end here!
this Government is full of dull individuals, sekeni cant reason properly. again this parrot with a long beak has bitten a wrong spot. what is going on in this government mwe bantu pliz? hyenas without a plan? this could be true.
I’m afraid Mr Sata is going to have to reach in his drawer underneath his disk and pull out his worn out dog eared playing cards and shuffle them AGAIN!
How can a whole minister tell lies bane? Something is fish here. If the man was not deported then how did the minister conclude that he was. Tell us the truth Mr Lungu and Mr Paulsen.
A govt of liars.
Embarassing ..which tavern did Sata find this ‘minister’ and which constable gave him the report. It was actually Adnan Haye who is the former Chief Financial Officer of ZAMTEL under LAP Green who was arrested on Friday 17 August. He was deported to Pakistan. He was apparently found in possession of ZAMTEL’s power generator .
really???
So where are you and how did you get there.
#22 is right its Adnan Haye, and ZWD carried a correct story, while the rest of media house just did copy and paste, without any verification (These journalist of now days). Lungu need to apology. And I dont know why Sata like this drunkard (even giving him a post of full minister). these guy cant even remember what you discussed with him the previous day.
But the names are as different from each other as day and night, how can the minister confuse the two names?
What if Paulsen was truely deported and then made that statement after arriving in Uganda? All is possible, but let Lungu respond coz lying is now a criminal offense in Zambia. HH was recently charged with one….lol
:d Lying criminal offence? It is going to be busy time in High Court
What about the 90 days lie! Not part of the criminal offence ones?
Vagabonds In Power (VIP’s)!!!… zero integrity, zero credibility, zero everything!… This is the price we are paying for having a third grade moron in State House!!
Maybe the man was consuming tujili jili when signing the deportation order or could be the result of having street adults for ministers. The drama continua….Its donch kubeba indeed.
Where are the people who understand our Govt ministers to tell us what this truly means? Dull as usual can’t comprehend this matter. What I think should happen is that the Minister should have some PR person to speak on his behalf so that he does not entangle himself in ‘useless’ matters. The Minister should only elaborate on policy issues not on every Jim, Jack and Jane.
23:24:00 should be commended for giving Hans Paulsen a platform to responded. However they (23:25:16) should dig deeper into the facts of the matter at hand. Should the Minsiter of Home Affairs be found wanting, then he should be held accountable, otherwise mere speculation on the issue will just resort to politic jibber jabber.
If Lungu cannot prove his charge, what is he doing in government? Is he there to unsettle the government by his lying and thereby putting the government in bad light to the electorate?
Lungu must be watched very closely and investigated. He could easily be a mole placed to bring down the PF government before it even takes root.
Here is a CNP MINISTRY, that inspite of having ONE FULL MINISTER & IS IT THREE DEPUTIES?, seems CAN’T FIND THE TIP OF IT’S NOSE – I CAN SEE THIS MINISTRY HAVING MAYBE A SECOND FULL MINISTER PLUS A FURTHER TWO OR THREE DEPUTIES BEING APPOINTED by Monday morning!!!!! MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKETS DISAPPEARING FAST TO A CNP GOVT!!!!
OUR DEAR LEADER CNP!! DID INDEED TELL US HE WOULD BE APPOINTING GRADE ONES!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone call and confirm that its really true that Hans Poulsen (Danish) posted the press statement? This is a lie, the real Hans was deported.
Doh!
eyeee, i pity Sata, is this the calibre of ministers we need sure?
NO NEED TO VUVUZELA. THE HON MINISTER AND THE PAPERS BLUNDERED. THEY SHOULD APPOLOGISE AND LEARN TO VERIFY FACTS. PERIOD. NO NEED FOR BLAH…BLAH…BLAH…
I think you’re missing the point about the internet – 99.9% of what goes online is basically, blah, blah, blah!
Yangu iwe Lungu watusebanya. The best thing for you to do baba is to resign.
So it is a very bad person towards old Zamtel workers under Lap Green [Former ZAMTEL managing director HANS PAULSEN] versus a damn liar PF government official [Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu and PF media].
Now,
One telling the truth, whilst the other is lying or both are lying or telling the truth.
So, which is which ?
The Post has already carried a story quoting the PS that infact, the guy deported was not Paulen but the Pakistani. They have even carried Paulsen’s press statement. They are saying its a case of mistaken identity!!!!!!??????
Hahahahahahaha……you get a bunch of kaponya’s led by some loud and noisy guy who calls himself zambia’s first “EXPATRIATE” sweeping London streets. How do you expert him to have enough intelligence to pick correct ministers? What did you really expect?
