PF disappointed with Nevers Mumba’s support for Kaingu

The Patriotic Front has charged that MMD president Nevers Mumba is making it impossible for Zambians to respect his leadership.

PF Media and publicity director Chris Mfula said in a statement yesterday that it was disgraceful for Dr Mumba, who was also a Pastor,to endorse the actions of his Vice President who decided to tear President Michael Sata’s speech to parliament.

He said the PF membership was not surprised by Pastor Mumba’s stance because there was a striking similarity between his and Mr Kaingu’s behaviour.

“There is, therefore, nothing surprising when one individual decides to support the actions of another of his kind. But PF sympathises with the other MMD leaders because they now will not just have to deal with one, but two intemperate top most leaders,” he said.

He said Dr Mumba should realise that there was no need for him to support any action against President Sata or the PF government.

He said the MMD president must begin to take a more responsible approach to leadership and embrace values that would help his party contribute constructively to the maturation of the country’s democracy.

He maintained that Mr Kaingu should be expelled from Parliament to avoid setting a dangerous precedent.

And the Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Namwala District has condemned the tearing of the Presidential speech for the official opening of parliament by Mwandi Member of Parliament and MMD vice President Michael Kaingu.

In an interview with ZANIS, Namwala PF District Secretary Michael Mwansa Shabashaba said that the behaviour of Mr. Kaingu is not expected to be displayed by a parliamentarian.

Mr. Shabashaba added that if Mr.Kaingu was not in favour with some elements in the speech he would have used the normal parliamentarian procedure as opposed to acts he described as being violent.

He said the action further shows the calibre of the MMD leadership which he said has no leadership in the house.

Mr. Shabashaba said any progressive Zambian deserved to condemn the action of Mr. Kaingu.

  1. it is behaviour such as kaingu (shi iris ) which stock the flames of political cadre violence. Tearing a presidential speech on parliament floor! That is stuff for ralliies not parliament.. I see more political violence in the near future

  2. ati chiwamila galu… hehehehe, when levy and rupiah where in the seat, what did you do? you made it difficult to rule and you want to be given time. do we even have time shikulu sata. If you live in a glass house, dont throw stones.

  3. what was the basis for the rebel mps to be hounded out of the boat? they supported rupiah! mama faustina was even baptized in the muddy name of chibuku. ma orange was beaten left right and centre. who was left? no one. when they were participating in the national duty, you expelled them. now that the mmd and upnd dont want to support you, you cry foul. mukose nokukosa ba pf. you thot ruling a nation was as easy as just saying donchi kubeba? things backfire and shit just get thrown right in your faces if you are playing with the zedians.

  4. @1 zero option, your stinking mentality coupled with bitterness wont take zambia anywhere. levy or rb would made sure foolish kaingu pays for his foolish act. kaingu must be expelled from parliament sooner rather later.[-(

  5. Kaingu to him that speech was trash, rather ask him what he was expecting from a PF controlled presidential speech

  6. hahahahaha 2 months ago it was him mumba stormed STATE HOUSe without follwing the normal procedures now it his no 2 same same old ,bad maners

  7. Leave Nevers and Kaingu alone. Developed economies like japan and Singapore Mp’s beat each other in Parliament if debate cant have a winner. what is tearing a useless speech in Parliament. Sata was just cracking Jokes on a serious issue. If it is foolish, tear the speech. There is parliamentary imunity. Do not harrass the MP from mwandi. nevers spot on. Malabisha yeka yeka ba PF

    • My dear we are not in Singapore or Japan. We r in Zambia and moreover a Christian Nation where morals are supposed to be practiced. Dont copy what other countries do. He wud have used a parliamentarian channel unlike doing what he did.

  8. MMD is learning that it is very easy to be in opposition…just do what PF did when they wetre in opposition…lumpenise….. Meanwhile PF is realising that its …..ukulanda chalianguka….doing is something else!

  9. We told them, they thought it was that easy. Now they are in power and they want to expel any one as long as he is from opposition, they want to weaken the opposition. Poor Fools indeed. MMD is coming back into power come 2016. If Dr. Mumba is not talking they will say MMD is mature than HH and UPND. When Mumba speaks he becomes a threat and they begin to destroy him. Aatase ba Pu m bar Fool imwe.

    • Mumba a threat? Fyamba nshi mupepa kanshi? Childish and foolish. I dont want my parliamentarian to be a primitive childish lumpen. I want a strong opposition for my country, but one strong on issues, not one strong on childish playground tactics. Ati chimubabe. What foolishness. I’m a bit worried about PF’s capacity to deliver, but Kaingu and Mumba’s childishness does not make me feel like I have a better alternative in them. Not even HH. Chipimo the young man is more level headed than these “elders”, but I know some buffoon will say he’s been bought…

  10. taering is not the solution to take zambia forward its the sign of hate and anger i hope he does not through ports in his house if the food the wife cooks its not nice thats no encourging its distroying and it must be condemed to the fullest,

  11. PF should not hide behind the word bitterness and hatred…infact the people who are openly criticising PF love them. Someone who loves u will tell kuti waitaya…the one who hates u will keep quite and say…twalamona!

  12. MMD is doomed…its leadership is a thorn in the fresh..the likes of Kaingu and Nevers are taking this party for a ride and they think they can do whatever scratches their medula oblangata..these guys needs deliverance for them to prevail on national issues.Kaingu must be chased from parliamnet because no zambian would want to be represented in such a manner.Nevers needs to attend a workshop on leadership skills at one of the TEVETA institutions coz attending a higher institution would do him no good. he wont be able to consume the knowledge to the highest degree.

  13. Ba Paster, kaya nganiba Pastor … mule tusebanya. You should have managed to tame the actions of your Shi Iris instead of supporting that act. A point against the speech, he might have had, but as a Father at home and a leader in Zambia, he should have withheld his hanger and come out professionally.

  14. Expel him, high time we had a PF MP in Southern Province. For the sake of development a Mugabe formular wouldn’t be unreasonable, everyone will understand we are in power and we need representation in all provinces.

  15. Its unbelievable that a normal human can see sense in PF governance. Just confirms Pf cadres limited scope. And think anyone opposing them is Tonga

  16. #14 I Concur with you. its not all the people who are not happy with this barbaric regime are tonga. some of us are bembas and cant be just supporting micheal sata blindly because we are bembas. this where these PF chaps miss the point. Nevers mumba is right that speech was useless. moreover kaingu tore his own copy not he original copy. what is wrong by someone tearing his own copy containing a useless speech? nothing at all. infact it was just a photocopy. PF chaps wake up.

  17. What did you expect a Mfula and a Mwansa to say? The only thing that PF knows is expelling people from this and that. There are other forms of punishment apart from expelling. Understand you guys whose English vocabulary is limited to “bitter” and “hatred”?

  18. What is difference between a copy and an original???? When you find an answer then all this debate should come to an end.

  19. Who is this Kaingu ***** to tear the Presidential speech. Meanwhile you send your daughter to go and make ponographic films and you want to show us that you are intelligent. Wonder what level of education you attained. Fool!!!

  20. Dr kaingu and IRIS are two different people with different personality. some you who are condeming iris
have done more worse sins. some year go most of girl used to be done by dogs.PF WAKE UP

  21. Most of you seem to misunderstand what a tearing of a presidential speech means given such a platform,am sure time and effort where put in to prepare that speech no mater how useless it is,am no PF fan but using such a platform to behave like a child is no way to prove a point, that Kaingu chap should have used his intellectual capacity to put holes in that speech and win some voters, what he did was start the wrong debate,I wouldnt put my vote in a character like him,he must also wake up,in politics every party world over only has a 20year life span, join another party if you want attention, maybe even UPND,but not MMD..ask UNIP they know this..

  22. The alternative way of correcting the ‘mis-deeds’ of Mr. Kangu is for the president to start talking and behaving as a leader. That way there will be no need of tearing down ‘speech documents’ in parliament!

  23. Kaingu had a right to show disgust at the speech the way he did!I actually would have used it to wipe my behind and then flush it.

    • and your butt would have been bruised, unless you have one thats like a Kolwestan!! And your toilet would have blocked; more money in the pockets the plumber!! Lesson: people say what they cannever ever do. I can rest assure you cannot do it; you could have been a “yes” bwana!!

  24. How can you say that he is making it impossible for Zambians to respect his leadership? Who made you the spokesman for the ZAMBIANS? Why don’t you speak for yourself and leave us out of your dull imaginations? We can think for ourselves.

  25. Supporting MP Kaingu’s tearing of the presidential speech is not different from supporting Kingu’s daughter’s phonographic video

  26. @ #6, Tony Blair, no insults mwana, ati ulusele talutula kalonda lukalifyafye ikoshi mwana. Back to the blog, have you ever watch what goes on in the un? did you see what late Muhamar Gaddafi did to the speech?

  27. What Sata presented to parliament was not the speech Kaingu tore to pieces, Sata presented a cocktail of vile and bizzare jokes and threats to opposition leaders. It was therefore silly of the speaker Dr Fimi Fimo Martibini to give a copy of a speech Sata never read. Kaingu was thus right to tear the speech to pieces because it is not what Sata presented.

  28. when is the general election again? 2013 or 2016? Leta in’goma bika apa!! Its like music to our ears. “bitterness” sounds like our only word in the vocabulary. We are Kaponya’s, didn’t go to school. So all you bitter people, how nice to see the bitterness!! Lol

  29. Next time Sata behaves in such a shameful cantankerous manner, he should know that people will tear either him or his speech, or both, to pieces. Ubunangwa uleke nomba Zondwe awe sure twanaka ifwe abantu bakwa Lesa. Hakuna mucembele ya atezwi ki butoto mwa likocokile cwalo, wa swabisa sicaba namunungu tuwe!

  30. I would have thought that Michael Sata was a prolific speaker. Or was he one only as an opposition leader? Easier said than done ha! His speech must have been disgustful all right. Why has it ignited such ire?

  31. Zambian Comedy. I just listen to people talk and see what they write. Characters can be seen in what people say and write. God help us. Just wish people like Martin Luther King or Mahatma Ghandi lived today and should have taught us something about how we can change situations. Mahatma himself once said, IF YOU WANT TO SEE CHANGE AROUND YOU, YOU YOURSELF SHOULD FIRST OF BE THAT CHANGE. I wonder how our leadership can change things and listening to us Zambians talk and comment, I am afraid.

    • So rise to the occasion and be the hero, as long as you do nothing, you as bad as the commentors on these site- same genetics!

  32. Mumba amano tamwaba mu mutwe, afumisha kumo ne mishishi… How can you he support such a thing. Anyway; that’s what follows when you dump God.

  33. What kaingu did was okay, I listened to what sata was saying and am sure he was just pised off over satas silly and useless jokes which lacks morals. Eclessiastes 1 says there is time for everything, a time to joke and a time to be serious, a time to laugh and a time to cry! So y would some old CNP crack jokes in Parliament? If you become CNP better shut up because every human being has the right to be silent.

  34. Rubbish is rubbish and it must be trashed whether its from the president or not. the president has to be serious. next time it will be his UN speech to be TORN. he is telling the world that things have improved in zambia since pf took office. MY FOOT! which things have improved and you are there Pf. PF. My judgement is….(Order, order, order. hon member Kaingu was in order and he shud not have been sent out). and Dont blame iris becoz some of you are a product of IRISES. shut up!!!

  35. These bitter and haters, have nothing for Zambians. Instead of giving alternative policy to PF’s they are always insulting and misbehaving, I fear for you coz even in 2016 you will remain in opposition , who can vote for such unprincipled opposition. Criticize constructively and not like people who don’t think . Pastor Mumba is just shooting himself, I wonder.

  36. Dr Nevers Mumba will surely govern Zambia as President and he will make a better President. Be carefull how you spice your words about him becouse you may have to eat them.

    • It doesn’t mean that when one is a christian can make a good president. Our former president
the late Dr. Chiluba was a christian, see what things he did. Most people are disappointed, esp. from christian circles, If Dr.Mumba is just going to support Hon. Kaingu without strong reason then there is little chance for we christian to rule. Think about how Dr, Mumba has presented himself on a number of issues. He has not done very well. Everyone is watching him. As christians we need to present solid and seasoned messages. When King David fell, he was rebuked. What remarkable and great things has hon. Kaingu done for his area. This should tell you what kind of a person he is.

  37. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to listen to President Sata live when he spoke in Parliament this time. However, when I read his written speech as posted on the National Assembly website, I didn’t find it that empty or disgusting. As a matter of fact, I thought most of it was reporting on progress made on various programs promised in last year’s speech.
Even if the live speech was bad, Mr. Kaingu, in deference to the collective dignity of the people of Zambia as embodied in the office of the President, and taking account of the place where he was, needed to express his anger or disappointment with dignity, decorum and respect.
Objectivity, integrity and truth, Mr. Nevers Mumba, are among the hall marks of a truly great politician, but you seem to lack these.

  38. I agree when the Prezido was taking light moment aba bambuli calebakalipa. The fact is, those mps were given the speach, while Mr. Sata was addressing the parliament, ninshi Ci kaingu tacalepwilile lilyaliline. Cene ati ekupangu shine bulya ebungwa. No wonder umwana wakwe acitila ifyabupa tacakwata amano. He is in plot 1, kulacitako na Relax. Not waya mu parliament naufulwa kwati ni mukunya. Vivaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Pa Bwatooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  39. We do not have proper opposition leaders to add or contribute towards the development of the country, but to subtract. I wonder whether we voted these MPs to lead us into poverty. 98% of what opposition leaders say is not aligned with poverty reducation. We need opposition leaders who can contribute towards reducing poverty in our country by coming up with viable solutions. These solution ideas are supposed to be exported to PF Government to be implemented. Now oppostion leaders are there to tear the PF Government instead of building it. As a result no input development come from opposition. It is a waste of time to vote for such MPs who have nothing to contribute towards the development of a nation, but to show of that they are important in a Nation.

  40. Mungoma (50),

My salutations to your well –thought- out, very intelligent, and very mature response. I wouldn’t have said it better myself. We must have more thoughtful bloggers like you on this site. Sadly what we have instead, masquerading as intelligent bloggers, are mostly lumpens and kaponyas who confuse slogans and insults with wisdom. Keep it up.

  41. Chris should be calling for Sata to be serious when presenting a speech NOT throwing stones at someone who has the courage to stand up for the people.

Kaingu’s protest should be supported by all well meaning Zambians. The speech was totally useless even Sata himself ignored it and instead presented crude meaningless jokes to parliament.

Did Chris really expect Never’s to support PF?

  42. UnHonourable Kaingu ought o be suspended from parliament for such unZambian conduct. Former Pastor Mumba is only showing us his true colours. Both Kaingu and Nevers Mumba must be reminded that their party MMD owe a huge debt to the people of Zambia. Their party is responsible is countless offences on abuse of public funds, authourity, stealing and all manner of corruption. They need to inoculate MMD from hyper levels of corruption. We are waiting for them to restore sense of shame.

  43. @8 engineer, suddenly most over glorified artisans blogging on lt are called “engineer.” its now engineer this engineer that.

  44. Kaingu has all the right to tear the paper if he feels that way. That is not an issue which can lead to one being expelled, NO. Nevers Mumba is right to support Kaingu for displaying courage in Parliament. We need more Kaingu in the house
