Police in Kasama have picked up the body of a 60 year- old man of Musenga Village in Senior Chief Mwamba’s area.
Northern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Luckson Sakala has confirmed picking up the body of Basa Chanda who is believed to have collapsed after he was suspected to have taken kachasu.
Mr Sakala explained that the deceased Besa Chanda was staying alone and on the material date was seen taking the illicit beer before he died.
And police are appealing to relatives of the late Besa Chanda who is believed to have originated from Chimango village of chief Chipalo in Luwingu District to come and collect the body.
Mr Sakala has called on any person who knows the deceased to contact the police for burial arrangement as the body is lying in Kasama general hospital mortuary.

We still cant be drinking that poison in Zambia today…certainly other issues could have led to this death but mark these humble words, that drink has never made another happy…we should ban it and atleast let people drink chibuku…

Acohol is a drug and a drug is a drug is a drug. Alcohol as a lot of physiological effects, economical and social effects than the good side. Ask the a well schooled medical Dr and they will tell you though they drink themselves they do not know why? If you need help indicate iwill follow up on you
Not only do some doctors drink but they also smoke During tea break or cigaratte pause as they call it, you see all these doctors puffing on, not far away from patients who probably are suffering ailments caused by alcohol or cigarettes. Go to a medical school and see for your self! I think this is all due to stress, could be I am wrong! Alcohol is a terrible drug, we all hope to drop the habit one day but that day never comes until we finally drown !

Now the impression is given that Musenga village is in the hinterland of Senior Chief Mwamba’s chiefdom. As a matter of fact it’s a housing area of greater Kasama town.
LT has mixed up the age but what difference does the age make? Dead at 60 is still dead at 65.
