Days after FIFA lifted a ban on signing new players, Nkana Football Club has announced the capture of attacker Jackson Kampamba from Kabwe Warriors.
FIFA imposed the ban last December over unresolved player debt and contractual breaches.
Nkana on Thursday morning unveiled Kampamba on a two-and-a-half-year contract. The winger joins elder brothers Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ and Chisha at the Wusakile club.
“I am excited to join Nkana Football Club. I can’t wait to see you, fans, and get started,” Kampamba told Nkana FC Media.
Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga welcomed the 22-year-old: “Jackson is a talented young player with qualities that will add value to our squad. He is an exciting attacking player with good potential and a strong desire to keep developing.
“At 22, he has his best years ahead of him and we are confident Nkana can provide the right environment for him to grow and contribute positively. We are pleased to welcome him to the Kalampa family and look forward to seeing him in the red jersey.”
Nkana also announced the departure of five players this week, including Congolese striker Idris Mbombo.
Mbombo left alongside defender Dieugo Apanane, midfielder Joe Wallace Banda, goalkeeper Patrick Chooma and midfielder Francis Zulu.
“Nkana FC thanks all five players for their contribution and service and wishes them the best in their future undertakings,” the club said.
Kalampa are seeking better fortunes after spending last season fighting relegation.
