Political analyst Neo Simutanyi has advised leaders of the Patriotic Front to stop labeling everyone criticizing their policies as being bitter.

Dr. Simutanyi said those opposing the manner in which the PF has managed national affairs since assuming office are merely doing so in the interest of democracy.

“Please we are not bitter, stop calling us bitter each time we speak, we are not bitter, we are democrats,” Dr. Simutanyi pleaded.

Dr. Simutanyi said the majority of Zambia wants the PF to deliver on its promises made during campaigns.

“We don’t want this government to fail. When it succeeds, everyone including those who didn’t vote for them will be happy. Nobody wishes it to fail,” he said.

Dr. Simutanyi was speaking in Lusaka last evening during a public discussion organised by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung on the PF’s one year in office.

He said it has become fashionable for PF top officials to react sharply to any kind criticism and call those criticizing them as bitter.

Dr. Simutanyi said the PF should be more tolerant to divergent views adding that Zambia is now a mature democracy and that people will always enjoy their right to expression.

  1. IT IS BITTERNESS WHEN YOU DONT BRING OUT ISSUES THAT DONT ADD VALUE TO ZAMBIANS. YOUR HAKAINDE IS BUSY SHOOTING DOWN THE BUDGET USING DISGRANTLED MPS, IT IS BITTERNESS WHAT THIS SELFISH CHAP IS DOING. YOU PIPO SHOULD BE FACTUAL IN YOUR CRITISM, OTHERWISE, IT HAKAINDE WHO IS BITTER WHICH HAS CAUSED HIM TO HAVE MOUTH POLOMYA.

    • You lack of understanding of democracy makes you look a full among the educated. Your bitterness fo HH will not take you anywhere. Your poverty has hit you to the brain that you cant see beyond HH. Work hard little fellow and get rich like HH. Like it or NOT HH is next president.

    • You are the most stupid child out of 10 children your prostitute mother has produced. You people are too boastful, you didn’t expect sata-n to be president. Wait and see what comes next.

    • Your problem is a failure to understand how democracy functions. In a democratic system there is always an opposition. The function of the opposition is simply to oppose. It’s one of the checks and balances in a democratic system. The opposition are not the governing organ and are not supposed to rule and govern with the ruling party, otherwise how would they oppose their own policies??? The ruling party should be able to rule and govern inspite of the opposition, and be able to prove that they in fact know what they are doing. For most of the time, their credit will come after they have left office (unfortunately),

    • Mr HAMIYANZE, you seem to be an apologist for the PF even in the face of compelling evidence. If you are in the USA as your flag indicates you would know how democracy works but it’s like you are in a coccon there without knowing anything about the politics there. Criticism ia part of any healthy democratic system and intolerance to it is the beginning of tyrrany.

    • So a lot of people are bitter. MMMM bitter democrats?  it does not sound like it. I think bitter is a right one.

    • Hamiyanze you are the only jew in jerusalem.Let us discuss issues and not hurt you still have time to reform and your hurt against HH will not take you anyway.please charge for you need HH more the he needs you.Remember you were in UPND then PF next MMD and now PF after imprisonment with hard labour i pit you.

  2. WE ARE NOT BITTER, WE ARE ALREADY TIRED OF CNP. IF YOU EXAMINE THE FACES OF SATA AND HH, YOU WILL REALISE THAT SATA IS THE ONE BITTER

  3. They think everyone who is not govt is bitter, because them (PF) were so bitter to be in the opposition. What can anyone expect from ba Kaponya who have limited English vocabulary. I think many of the would express themselves better in vernacular. Please let us make a huge debate out of their language, we have always known the caliber of people we are dealing with!

  4. Neo Simutanyi failed to complete his doctorate at Cambridge. Why do people keep referring to him as Dr. Simutanyi? The records are there at UNZA to prove my point. Just go to the Staff Development Officer at UNZA and ask. The fact that Neo himself doesn’t correct people addressing him as Dr. says a lot about the character of the man.

    • There are hundreds of thousands of individuals whom some people refer to as Dr., who never earned their doctorate at Cambridge or at any other university in the world and no one ever bothers to check the records. The fact of the matter is that the person does not use the title Dr. behind his name. That alone suffices. It would be insane for him to be jumping-up and correct anybody who calls him Dr.

    • The staff development officer at Unza does not award Cambridge degrees! Check with Cambridge University itself. The records show he was there from 1992 to 1997 when he obtained his PhD in Social and Political Sciences. What does this say about you MaxMbizo?

  5. Mr Hamiyanze what bitterness are u toking about? Remove your rose glasses and see things the way they are.. don’t be myopic. Make yo own world if u don’t want to be criticized.

  6. The ruling party needs to be thick-skinned and appreciate the role being played by the opposition. In a democratic system there is always an opposition. The function of the opposition is simply to oppose. It’s one of the checks and balances in a democratic system. The opposition are not the governing organ and are not supposed to rule and govern with the ruling party, otherwise how would they oppose their own policies? For the ruling party to label anyone who opposes their policies as being “bitter” is utter stupidity and a failure to understand how democracy operates.

    • The opposition is not there to oppose everything, but as you have said to provide checks and balances this means that they should oppose and provide solutions, the tendence of rebuking the Govt when it has done well then you say that they have copied our manifesto should not be there because if the govt does what the people wants then which ever party brought that idea should be happy as we need the country to move depite of our political affiliation.

Hats off to MCS for involving Nawakwi to spearhead that energy project. We need to move this country to prosperity, next time we need HH to spearhead a project in southern province .Zambia is biger than a party wheather in Govt or opposition. This country is behind because of too much politicking, we are tired of this type of po

    • Paswepabe you are actually right. A more appropriate word I should have used is “scrutinize” and not “oppose” per se.

  7. hav you ever seen any serious issue being done by your planless foulks(pf) look at the price of all the basic needs we are falling to invite our relatives it you who is bitter mr hamiyanze coz you always support things which you know are not right please call a spade a spade thank you.

  8. What you say vs how you say it. In most cases you rush to make statements that tend to insinuate that this government has failed when you know very well that this kind of statement can only make sense after the next 4 years, in 2016. You shall be found to be mouthless (mauless), dumbfounded by 2016. We are in a hurry to develop Zambia. But Dr. Simutanyi you are not very reliable.

    • May it be so according to your word. The void is simply too big mind you. And whatever it is you think is development could end-up being viewed as a drop in an ocean. So far it does not appear as though you have anything to show for it, no indication that the country is heading in the right direction. This is the cardinal issue that enervates the hope of the majority of the rest of us. Otherwise, we do wish you the best of success. If you do succeed, it will be good for the country as a whole.

  9. Too late. You, Mulongoti, Mpombo and others passionately helped Mmembe trick the youth and the poor into voting for PF who have since given themselves their dream jobs….

    Thanks

  10. Dr. Neo Simutanyi, who are the “we” you are referring to and its also interesting to hear you say “we” are democrats”!! So you belong to some political grouping who are democrast but being accused of being bitter??? I thought you were some independent political analyst who issues out opinion polls??? So even political analysts need to have some politcal leanings like a democrat, repuiblican or liberal??? How can Parties of different political leanings trust your pool as independent and impartial????

    • I believe the plural first person pronoun “we” refers to the group of democractically minded individuals, communities, civil society groups and, I might add, political parties who take their civic duty to provide checks and balances, and to guide those in govt seriously. Yes it is the culture of the PF file and rank to label all ans sundry who dare advise or critisize them as bitter.

    • Ba Sansamukeni this comment is shocking, what’s the matterb English or what? You can get the meaning of ” we” in his discussion? You have asked fooolish questions.
      Sit down stuiipid iddiot!

    • You seem to suggest that “democrats” is synonymous to a political party. I am afraid that that level of ignorance on your part is astonishingly deliberate. Any group of people who believe in or practice a democratic system can be referred to as “democrats” in the same way that those who believe in Christ are referred to as “Christians.” What Dr. Simutanyi is saying is that he is one of those people who espouse democratic principles. And that should not have caught you off guard.

  11. The ones insulting the most on the blog are the ones that are bitter. You cannot use words like Kaponya, CNP, monkey unless you are bitter. For us Kaponyas and monkeys we will vote again in large numbers to make sure the intelligent so called educated do make it to GRZ. With such kind of language when you re not even in GRZ what many names will you call others when u make into gorvernment?

    • Being “bitter” is not necessarily un-called for. Some who may be bitter could be bitter out of honest disppointment. They had great expectations when they supported the PF government and are now disppointed that their expectations will not be realized. For instance, some who supported the PF had not forseen a situation where the PF were going to re-introduce tribalism to such an unprecendented magnitude. Call it “bitter” of course it is, people are genuinely bitter and disappointed.

    • KCI; tell them. They only learnt to be bitter in their so called education. They feel that because they are educated, they are the only ones who are educated; not knowing that we “Kaponyas” are far more educated than them ba kabwa. At least we believe in numbers and we know who are our enemies and our allies. They cant agree anything amongst themselves so 2016 will be walk-over for us.

  12. Iwe Sansamukeni #13, both Republicans and Democrats of the US of A ARE DEMOCRATS!!! Test the water before you dive in with your head… next you will be telling anyone using the word conservative that they belong to the British Conservative Party… Eish!

  13. ISSUES ,,I MEAN ISSUES TO DO WITH HAMMERING MINISTERS’ WIFES…WE SHOULD ENJOY THEM..THEIR HUBS DON’T SATISFY THEM FULLY….MASEBO IS ALSO SWEETY..BUT IS GETTING TO OLD TO BE ENJOYED

  14. PF must have been so much bitter envious during their 10 years in opposite so that they think every one who is not in government is as bitter as they were? Too bad. Not everyone harbours bitterness. Democrats should not harbour grudges over loss of elections.

No wonder the PF had to resort to false promises to win an election – to avoid bitterness! No wonder they a dragging in implementing their decentralisation programme and devolution of power to the people. Hunger for control and power!

    • Tonga Bull, don’t malign the man for notihng. Check the Cambridge graduates website and you’ll find the guy graduated in 1997.

    • Tonga Bull do you concur with Ricky Bobby? Your integrity is on the line here. I had held you in high esteem before.

  16. YOU KNOW FELLOW BLOCKERS IAM A CONFUSED MAN NO WONDER I CHANGE POLITICALS PARTIES LIKE PADS…I WILL AGAIN SUPPORT MY BROTHER H.H…I KNOW AND BELIEVE THAT THE MAN WILL BE A REPUBLIC PRESIDENT..

  17. INDEED THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BETTER ARE BORN TEMBO ,,MULONGOTI,,,AND MANY OTHER PF CADERS WITHOUT JOBS AND LACK OF MONEY IN PEOPLES’ POCKETS.

  18. WEATHER THE HH SYMPATHIZERS LIKE IT OR NOT THE FOOLISH BOY HAKAINDE WILL NEVER RULE ZAMBIA AS REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT. HE WILL ONLY GO IN THE TONGA BOOKS OF HISTORY AS HAVING BEEN PRESIDENT FOR A FEW DISGRUNTLED TONGAS IN THE NAME OF UPND.

  19. @HIMIYANZE#1
You are not using your cognitive abilities when responding to anything that opposes your paymasters and you suck a great deal. You just jump as if you have been having night-mares. You are also suffering from insomia as meaning that you always have sleepless nights and, each time you attempt to enjoy short naps you come across news headlines opposing PF. It follows that such unwelcome developments spark your schizophrenic outbursts and the immediate targets are HH and the opposition. Man, you are sick and your views have no substance. You are suck, man.

  20. Neo the fake analyst. Where is Ala Bee the tiff today. just shut up and enjoy the loot from your pre election funders

  21. ZIPZAP. Please get a brain transplant this one has failed you. Even the name ZIPZAP sounds like some name of an ugly, bitter, black, big, smelly ,slow ,slimy insect

  22. Neo is not a PhD he failed to develop his thesis claiming he had an illness his late brother was a lawyer who also claimed illness after struggling to graduate and ended up chewing money meant for his clients died running away from them….Fine he is not bitter but let him tell the truth about himself first he IS NOT A DR…..the qualification is earned…period.

    • Lemmy, I wonder how much of you is known by the rest of us? At least every one knows that Neo Simutanyi is his real name. As for you, you don’t even have the courage to tell us your real name etc. You will do well to adhere to this: “Do unto others the way you would want them to do unto you.” It’s called the golden rule. Otherwise, I am curiously waiting for your response to the question posed by 2010 Grade 12 school leaver with 12 points above.

  23. We can be cheap in this country. So this Lemmy chap#28 thinks the way is character assassination. The man is making a valid point for the good of this country. We are so backwards as a country with wholesale belief that the way is to bring out the dirt in some one. What is important is to allow different views about our political, economic and social direction of all people called Zambians. People should express without fear. The failure of Simutanyi to finish his thesis does not bring three meals to most of us and of no use to all of us. We need civilisation.

  24. @jackal am sorry 2 tell u that u r living in a fools paradise.most Tanzanians do not speak english fluently but here in zed we r gud english speakers. But is zambia mo developed than zambia? Are u living a better life than some of us the kanpoya’s? Get it in yo damn head that us the kaponya’s are surviors. The prblm with u ‘wanna be’s,’ is that u’ve bin brain washed by the whiteman.

  25. Yes Dr Simuntanyi you are bitter, we haven’t forgotten how you used to come up with some stnpid opinion polls in the run up to last elections. You are bitter thats why you’ve been quiet.

  26. @28 Lemmy. Neo graduated in 1997. Check the Cambridge University website. Dr Simutanyi got a 3 year PhD scholarship to Cambridge University in 1992. He was supposed to defend his thesis in 1995. But it was not ready. Since it was a 3 year scholarship he had no choice but to come back home and he was given a proviso to finish his thesis within two years. He duly did this and he was awarded his Doctorate in 1997. Besides the stuff he is talking about has nothing to do with whether one has a PhD or not. And what is that with his young brother who passed on? People like you are sick!

    • Wonder if Lemmy himself is a PhD? Let him taste the bitterness of the medicine of his own making. And even if Lemmy is a PhD from a reputable university, would that still not tell us how much of a BIG head and small mind he has?

    • There is no such a thing as “a stupid opion poll.” Opinion polls are opinion polls. Most civilized countries do have opinion polls. They are a projection of how things stand at a particular point in time and are not necesarily meant to be accurate. With a little bit of some education on your part, you will begin to appreciate opinion polls. For now, we can only sympathize with your situation. The rest of us do appreciate Dr. Simutanyi for introducing opinion polls in Zambian politics and he does not deserve to be insulted for that.

  27. the cpn clan is not well educated and hence there vocabulary is limited the only terms they know are bitter and hatred. when you look at hh face and cpn who looks bitter and full of hatred for every zambian of course it is SATA

  28. @36. Not every opinion can be correct. After all these are just predictions. They can be right or wrong. Just look at the presidential polls in the US today. Every polling organization is coming up with its own predictions based on the people they are sampling. In short polling is not an exact science. That is why they always give you “margins of error” . One poll can say Romney is leading Obama 50% to 47% with a 4% margin of error. For a dimwit this suggests that Romney is going to win. But the opposite could be TRUE just by adding that 4% to Obama and substracting that from Romney. Its not black and white. Its probability!

    • Sometimes I even wonder whether its worthwhile trying to reason with some bloggers here. When an issue is raised for a good forum, some bloggers’ brains do not process but just dishes out to the mouth to provide the comments irrelevant to the topic. But you have given them a good explaination which everybody should learn from, alas, there will still be ‘to be continued’ on Lemmy’s PHD, HH, Kaponyas and whats not there…irrelevant to issues Lemmy has raised. And yes I agree with Lemmy, government should now be addressing issues whenever critised not all the time responding that people are critising out of bitterness. It made sense when they were just hired by the Zambian people, but even after 1 yr, bane… come on, provide your critics with reasonable responses.

    • Mpengaule, don’t give-up on them. They do learn from your contributions. The way to counter darkness is to introduce light.

  29. Personally im very bitter that RB gave away this country to a thug supported by USA of which are now regretting. USA ambassador was prayed ka Donchi kubeba trick as well, meaning that they have a porous intelligence system. Zambians were duped. Only God knows why sata was allowed to ruke mother zambia n based on that, i respect the decision for those that voted for him.

    • He who asks for the riddles becomes a riddle himself. You do sound very bitter yourself and may be it’s for a good reason.

  30. @ # Peter…very foolish fellow…you poor PF dog now under Kabimba trying to bite and kick out GBM form the party..no way mwaiche…H.H is there to better our poor economy for the benefit of all…SATA AND PF ZWAAAA

  31. @ # 42 ,,Zibege is very bitter ,,because Sata is giving Pf President to Kabimba not your GBM..and you do not have a proper wife..yours is Masebo a ****.

  32. Goncalves…please read his polls before u start halucinating here,
One of the things that Simutanyi said was that MMD is going to win because it has consolidated itself in its strongholds. What he omitted to tell our people was the base from which he began in order to make the claim that MMD had consolidated itself in its strongholds.

Even a first-year statistics student could have done a better job than Simutanyi. In the Eastern Province, Simutanyi said that his poll predicted that Rupiah was going to get 51 per cent of the vote. What he did not tell the public is the fact that in 2008, Rupiah got 75 per cent of the vote in the Eastern Province. By his own numbers, Simutanyi was saying that Rupiah had lost 24 percentage points between 2008 and now.

    • It is all based on probability. That is why it is called an “Opinion Poll”. It is not an exact science! Sometimes Opinion polls are correct. Sometimes they are wrong! What don’t you understand about this? It is just a prediction game based on a sample. A person should not be hated on the basis of an opinion poll that didn’t go according to prediction. You’re just been childish!

    • Mushala, I wonder who between you and Concalves is halucinating? To me Concalves sounds more adept at explaining how opinion polls are generated and how they function. You may want to admit that you are probably not well exposed on this subject.

  33. you MUSHALA shut up ..your SATA HAS FAILED TO GIVE US THE YUOTHS GOOD JOBS..COME ELECTIONS ,,WE ARE VOTING H.H FOR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT..VIVA H.H VIVA UPND.

    • well, you have your right to vote and so do i….and if you think that when HH becomes president jobs will be everywhere, good luck!

  34. How can that be consolidation? Simutanyi lied and  attempted to mislead the public. In the Western Province, Simutanyi stated that his poll showed that MMD would get 41 per cent. In 2008, Rupiah garnered 72 per cent of the vote in Western Province. This means that Rupiah was losing 31 percentage points in Western Province. Again, Simutanyi called this consolidation.
What nonsense is this? When you compare Simutanyi’s so-called poll with the results of 2008, MMD was losing eight percentage points in North Western Province and seven percentage points on the Copperbelt. and simutanyi shamelessly called this consolidation.  as i have said above, its about his poll not being accurate but a clear atempt on his part to lie to the people!

    • Clear attempt to lie to people? Where is your evidence for this nonsensical charge? Stop making stupid accusations that you can’t prove!

    • Concalves, your assumption is for a scientifically generated opinion poll that relies on sampling. Mushala is basing his on how a particular region, i.e. Eastern Province or Western Province, voted in the previous presidential elections, say the 2008 elections. Clearly, the two of you can never be on the same page. Neo Simutanyi used scientifically generated opinion polls. Mushala’s evaluation of Simutanyi’s polls is based on predictions that adhere to the voting pattern of the previous presidential election. Mushala may have a point. But the two of you are clearly not on the same page.

  35. Please you well meaning Zambians. Just ignore these people born bitter, frustrated and haters. They insult Zambians as Kaponyas and yet they want the same Kaponyas to Vote for them, really they have no strategy these guys. Kaponyas are the majority in Zambia and just wait for 2016, again these bitter people will be told a lesson by Kaponyas. Kaponyas will ever rule Zambia.

Peace and prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  36. # 49…VERY BITTER BECAUSE SATA IS SIDING WITH KABIMBA..NOT GBM…YOU HAVE NO MONEY IN TORN POCKETS..THESE TIME NO VOTE FOR LIERS..NI H.H CHABEEE

  37. Bitter, bitter, bitter… we are all bitter with the PF for woodwinking us during the campaign period. We are learning too late. Yes we are bitter because we didn’t expect this messy.

  38. So this fake political analyst who hoodwinked MMD into defeat with his fake opinion polls hasn’t died? You are still swallowing your bitterness.the person you thought can never be president is ruling you now, others will die trying to get to state house because bitterness, envy and jealousy has contaminated every cell in their body.

  39. @Kalok, I am not that daft dear to fail to understand the distinction between democrats and conservatives as political philosophies and the names of political parties. The manner is which Dr. (or is he Mr. in the light of recent revelations, albeit contested) Simutanyi defined not only himself but acertain grouping as he refers to “we”. He was groupinjg himself with a certain grouping of a given political category recently famous for being bitter and of course that made it a very open secret, rendering his so called opinion polls not worth the paper they are written on. I have seen sufficient chalk dear to be that shallow in thinking, but thanks for your observation. By the way, I am not a bitter tyupe, lol!!!!

  40. DR SIMUTANYI IAM NOT GOING TO INSULT YOU SIR. BUT THOSE OPINION POLLS ALWAYS FAVOURED MMD AND THEY WERE WRONG. NEXT TIME PLEASE BE 100 % NEUTRAL EVEN IF IT IS AGAINST THE RULING PARTY.

  41. Lets us call a spade a spade and not a big spoon, HH is very bitter becasue he thought without him, PF was not going to make it. One General who runs a one man party is also very bitter because he just cann’t believe that PF is in power!

  42. Its true some people are bitter and its a number of them. pf shud however not mistake advice to bitterness. let them embrace some advice. we have been there and we know how government fall. up to this far, pf and mmd government are following the same track.

  43. VERDICT:YES, MANY ZAMBIANS ARE BITTER BECAUSE THEY WERE CHEATED BY PF. TALK TO FARMERS, ESPECIALLY COTTON FARMERS IN CENTRAL PROVINCE YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE INDEED BITTER.
SO DR. (OR IS IT MR SIMUTANYI) YES LET US AGREE TO BE CALLED BITTER BECAUSE WE ARE TRULY BITTER. THE PEOPLE OF MUFUMBWE WILL SHOW YOU COME 8TH NOVEMBER THAT THEY ARE BITTER TOWARDS PF

  44. Iyee, Simutanyi! It’s true you are one of those who didn’t expect Sata to be president. In fact you prayed day and night for Sata and PF lose. Don’t pretend to be clever, with all that porosity in your craven face.

    • And why not? The monkeys are wrecking havoc, milking the cows and stealing the eggs and the chicken are crying foul! Animal farm at its best, and where in the world did Mr. Jones go?

  45. I EXTRACTED THIS INFO ABOUT SIMUTANYI’S STUDIES IN BRITAIN. IT SEEMS MANY PEOPLE ARE INDEED DOUBTFUL ABOUT HIS PhD QUALIFICATIONS. ONLY HIMSELF (DR. OR MR. SIMUTANYI CAN TELL THE TRUTH

Neo’s opinion has divided opinion among the intelligentsia and political activists who have been forced to examine Neo’s post-graduate studies in Britain and discovered that his PhD supervisor did not remember the man ever qualifying for the award after abandoning the programme midstream.

  46.  Goncalves i dont know wheather you were born dull or you just choose to be, its about simutanyi being correct a or not, he said that MMD had consolidated itself in its stronghold, and went on to give figure which showed the opposite when compared with the previous elections. you cannot claim that someone is consolidating himself and at the same time showing figures that are opposition, which part here is too hard for u to understand, its either he was lying cos he thought Zambias would not bother to to check fact or he’s too dull or lazy to research before writting his polls.

  47. and you are arguing that it an “opinion poll” and therefore its always correct, yes i agree with you, but the method used in should consistent with the end result. this was not the case with simutanyi’s polls. his conclusion suggested something totally different from his own data.

    • meant, arguing that it was an opnion poll  and therefore its not always correct. ….mistakes, got too many things to do….good day to you all ladies and gents.

  48. MUSHALA IS NOT NORMAL HUMAN BEING..MUSHALA VERY USELESS PF CADER WITH NO JOB AND NO MONEY IN HIS POCKET.. SLIM.KABIMBA IS FIGHTING FAT GBM

    • look at your comment, then look at mine and  tell me who is normal between you and me……bring facts that show otherwise to what i have said and not being so petty. am not even in Zambia and i have never worked for GRZ or been a cadre. i would be ashamed to be you…you cant argue intelligently so you decides to vomit!

  49. I advise all opposing views here to adress each other respectfully! The idea of always refering to PF supporters as Kaponyas, CNP and other demeaning words and vice versa calling others bitter & hateful will lead to people voting on revenge basis therefore denying the country valuable leadership. Neo has a point in that in democracy opposing views do not always imply bitternes, however, the political atmosphere as is and the context in which he made this observation renders it hard to have a positive debate. Neo is suppose to be an independent political analyst who produced some questionable polls last year. So when he makes statements that aligns him with a certain political party, he invites a backlash. I Voted PF and call me Kaponya or CNP, until after 4 years I still believe in PF!

  50. Goncalves #35,

I stand by what I said that Neo has no PhD and should not be addressed as Dr. If you check in all the university handbooks and calendars since 1997, you will not find a single one where Neo’s PhD is recorded. Furthermore, it is mandatory for all academic staff at UNZA to deposit their completed doctoral dissertations in Special Collections of the University Library. Go there and I can bet you that you won’t find any doctoral dissertation by Neo Simutanyi. If you know Simutanyi so well, at least do us a favour: give us the title of his doctoral dissertation and where it can be located. What I know for sure is that Cambridge University asked him to make revisions to his doctoral dissertation, but he failed to do so.

  51. You are bitter shut up, whom are you cheating we know you are bitter and you will remain bitter.
Removing you from leadership you are bitter you can not cheat us.

  52. Ba Simutanyi mwalipwa nomba………….utuma opinion polls twenu calipwa tatwakabwele nakabili. You see Doc, those are the results of being a vuvuzela. You threw away all your intelligence and accepted to be used by MMD.

  53. Nebo Shimusana, whatever your name is!! Wait till we penetrate your strongholds with development whether we win your hearts or not is a non starter but bitterness defines your every move and action.

  54. #39 ,your analysis is misleading to learned political groups, romney leading obama 50% to 47% margin of -3/4.from the zambian electoral system ,it can be argued from ur point of view but from the american electoral system not,OBAMA has 63% against ROMNEY 37%.the electoral system of USA require 270 electoral votes and OBAMA has 243 votes,ROMNEY 206 electoral votes,OBAMA is fighting to gain 27 electoral votes whereas ROMNEY needs to gain 64 votes.obama need to win ohio, and wiscosni orany other swing states.otherwise nice try but i got you.

  55. @85. There’s nothing misleading about my example. My example was about a poll that may show Romney leading Obama by 50 to 47%. Nowhere did I indicate that it is a US National Poll or State poll. All I wanted to show was that it is wrong to emphasise the topline numbers without taking into consideration such factors as the MOE as it can flip either way. I am very conversant with the US electoral system so please just save your energy.

  56. I wonder why some of you labour so much on insults. if you are intellectuals who can provide sound checks and balances why not discuss the article and not personalities? Social bloggers you should change. Could it be that political cadres are the ones running these blogs as in commenting on articles?
