Roderick Kabwe Savors Zambia Call-up

Kabwe Warriors midfielder and captain Roderick Kabwe says he is delighted to be included in the 23-member Zambia squad travelling to India for a ten-day training camp this month.

The team named by Coach Herve Renard last week, will be in India from November 19-30.

Kabwe said he was proud to be handed a national team call-up again.

“I am very proud to receive a national team call-up. I am very happy to receive that call,” said the ex-Zambia Under-20 Star.

Kabwe promised to do his best in India.

“It is not easy to be called to the national team while playing in Division One. I will go there to do my best,” he added.
The skillful youngster was part of the national team which played against Malawi in the July 6 away friendly which was part of that country’s Independence celebrations.

Renard has also included little known Italy based goalkeeper Luciano Sandro Pasquini in the India bound squad.

  4. National team has simply more than enough midfielders. Traditional #3, 4, 7 & 11 need be found. Ku 7 is Fwayo, he is on fire. Ku 11 kaya. The wings are quite since there is no C.Mulenga or Fwayo.
Renard is kind of a disaster coach mwee, the current national team has only good regulars
Mweene, Nkausu, Joseph, Sunzu, Kalaba, Chansa. the rest need replaced or very replaceable..
Now there is Jacob, more need be found.

  5. Ba Nostradamus mwansekesha, ati Ku 7 Fwayo. Indeed we need a number 11 in the likes of Kalusha. Ama wings eba bapanga bola. Also, we need a free kick specialist. In the Kalusha era, any free kick Zambia won outside the box,, fans used to celebrate even before Kalu took it. Why? Because free kick were considered a goal even before Kalu took it. Thats how good Kalu was at free kicks. We used to call him “Master of dead-ball situations”. Ba Kalaba used to try to score free kicks, nomba ile bashupa ukwingisha ama free kicks.
