Chairman of the Road Development Agency Willie Nsanda is happy that the Link Zambia road project has now gained momentum and that works have picked up.
Mr. Nsanda who toured the Leopards Hill Lot 1 road project which is part of the Link Zambia 8,000 in the company of RDA senior officials said he is pleased that the project is on schedule.
He said significant progress has been recorded on the project since President Michael Sata toured the project site last month.
President Sata last month threatened to cancel the contract awarded to China Geo to work on the Leopards Hill road as part of the Link Zambia 8,000 due to delays to commence construction work.
But Mr. Nsanda today found that over 20 Km of earth works have been done which he said was within schedule.
He said the contractor has also managed to mobilise necessary equipment on site to speed up the project.
“What is important is that we are on schedule, we may get a bit of delays because of the rains but we are essentially on schedule,” Mr. Nsanda told Reporters on site.
“This project is close to the Boss’s heart and he will be back here again soon to check on progress but what I have seen is impressive so far,” he said.
The RDA Chairman also denied assertions that State House is exerting unnecessary pressure on the contractor to finish off the project.
“Pressure is good. We all need pressure to move. This project is very important and it has to move so pressure is good,” he said.
The Link Zambia 8000 Project would result in the construction of about 2,290 kilometres of roads at an estimated cost of K7.9 trillion in the first phase.
The second phase would cover 3,049km of road network at an estimated cost of K11.25 trillion while the third phase would involve upgrading 2, 862km of road network with an estimated cost of K9 trillion.
All projects under the Link Zambia 8000 programme are expected to be carried out over a five-year period.
The road would also go over Chongwe River and connect Feira through to Luangwa Bridge.
He stated that on the other side, the road would provide a link to Kasisi, Chipembi, Chalimbana and Palabana, among other areas.
“…he is pleased that the project is on schedule.” HOW DID HE KNOW THAT THE PROJECT WAS ON SCHEDULE? HE HASN’T DISCUSSED THE PROJECT BEING ON SCHEDULED IN RELATION TO THE PROJECT PLAN. OR IS IT JUST PHYSICALLY SEEING HOW MUCH HAS BEEN COVERED WITH GRAVEL AND THE THE PROJECT IS ON SCHEDULE?
LT, PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE ROAD AS OPPOSED TO SEEING PEOPLE MU KA CABIN.
All road will have potholes
After I get a British passport, could someone confirm, if after my children are born here and they mixed race they could legally claim a Zambian passport as well seeing that they wont be black and they will be 50% Zambian 50% British? FYI my fiance is Scottish .
Thanks in advance
FYI
You are very dull. Zambian passports are not given based on whether your skin is black or not.
And we don’t give a monkey’s arse if your husband came from KwaMununga or scotland, biatch
This Link Zambia 8000 project is also close to my heart.
Sorry zambia does not have enough keep roadworks delayed comlared to some year round rain
nsanda is another boot licker “THE BOSS” he saw earth on the site . @MUSHOTA U R A twat another gold digger, i garantee u gonna be damped u prick.
Mushota do you close your eyes when you read this site? It has been repeated umpteen times that dual citizenship is not allowed in dull Zambia, so if you do get your kids Zambian passports you will be opening a can or worms for yourself. By the way all this time you have been bragging about you so-called fiance, it has just struck me that you are clinging on to him to get a British passport….shame.
This is why we need a technical person impartial individual for this position..what can you conclude from such a statement;
“He said significant progress has been recorded on the project since President Michael Sata toured the project site last month.”
There is nothing but appeasement of his boss; no project specifics or projections or technical details or forecasts just bootlicking which is a really unpleasant sight.
And where is the friggin CEO and his mob of engineers???
#7 Tigress
Do you think they will allow it in the future then?
I am at home now back from work
I just want to know because I am told people can use the Zambian passport and hide the British passport no one will find out unless someone sabotages me here and reports me
Thanks
Thanks
Mushota as long as Zambians continue to vote for grey haired members of the government, it will never happen. Like you said get it and hide it and tell no one, everybody is doing it from UK, USA, Australia and any other western country, just be cautious, just don’t make the mistake of entering the country with any other passport but the Zambian one.
Iwe Mushota, all the years of your boasting about your Master’s degree, PhD and all, and yet you are not knowledgeable in these simple matters of passports?? Seek ye wisdom from hence forth.
William Nsanda when is your wedding with Esther Phiri the age mate of your Daughter? Politicians never learn they seem addicted to young girls but forget they can’t satisfy them from their long years of bonking prostitutes at parliament motel.
By the time this project will finish PF will need to ask for another euro bond to mend the pot holes. Chinese are good at short cuts, lets wait and see how Nsanda and Sata will amass wealth just in the next few months from Chinese kick backs.
Atleast they do not beat Zambians at short cuts. Who do you think made those roads in China, some Zambian company nama wilibbala and mafosholo?
It all depends on which Chinese Company you contract. If you want to get bribes, get a cheap one, they do a bad job, and you share the difference. Otherwise who do you think made those nice roads in China – ofcourse not your regular Zambian company nama wilibbala and mafosholo for equipment.
The projects to link towns with out passing thru town centre is welcome,But accountability is key,,today here in harare the president was talking about building another capital city, with good copper prices we can start thinking and planning bigger road networks in our new capital city. advise
what was HH talking about regarding solomon jere. Nabeve ba HH,vasoba vocita manje nikukambakamba chabe.
You mean these PF mofos are hijacking our ideas and passing them as their brainchild. This plan was concieved under our mighty and awe inspiring MMD but now chimps like Nsanda are stealing the limelight. Now i’m bitter about this m#$f#^&rs.
Willie Nsanda has experience, he was a chairman of UTTA- United Transport something mostly to control co-boys selling tickets at bus stations.
PF’s- (Pathetic Fighters) strongmen are Kambwili, Willie Nsanda, GBM and backed by Sata. The back-4 defenders, not tu Kabimba.
Do yu mean Sata looks at the volume of the person?
A wise man once said “Its amazing what power f.o.o.ls have when the are in numbers”
some pipo are lucky in thus world like him Nsanda. holding such a post while we have very educated pipo around who can work good job. and qualified.
#11 Mushota you are a crook. This thing of hiding passports if it ever crosses your mind then you are nothing but a viper crook.
What is wrong with this rat Mushota? You never answered my question last time- the question was; Is the late lemmy Mushota, Minister in FTJ GVt who stote money from the gtv your father. Am sure your white bastard is irritating you with his pigish skin.
“This project is close to the Boss’s heart”. What kind of Chairman uses such street language? So what is news about what Nsanda said? What is the eduaction background of this Chairman? So what is the view of RDA Chief Executive on the progress of the works? I would rather listen to the CEO whi is an engineer than a politician.
LT SHOW US THE ROADS Not those big Tummies. Damn these Zambian Leaders, they cannot work out (GYM)?? UKUIKOTESHA that is why some of them sleep in Parliament. NIG MONEY WILL BE STOLEN ON THIS PROJECT. TOO MANY HANDS & Interests
Mushota, what is your answer to question raised by #23. Was Remy Mushota your father?
Infact he was minister of Science and Technology for a few month before he died?
what is your take??
kikikikik yah! Mushota has made my day
Despite being geared to become “white” Mushota does not want to let go Zed, Pali Zed na Mushota pakafwa umo. Thats the spirit Mushota, keep fighting, one day you and your children who are not yet born are going to be half black half white.
Please don’t be silly enough to rush contractors to do the work quickly and yet end up with a poor-quality road that won’t last more than one year before we see pot-holes. What is wrong with these people? How do they manage their homes kansi, with this level of incompetence and lack of analytical thought? Instead of rushing back to talk about how fast the raod is moving he should address the vexed question of quality of our roads. Those guys doing the orad might now be thinking the President does not care about quality as long as the road is finished over-night. Where is the inspection and quality control engineer for the project??? Stop behaving like brainless monkeys, this is a technical project as much as it is political..
He took MCS to threaten the contractors so that he can up and fatten his kick backs.Anyway once a kaponya owez a kaponya.
