Lusaka Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe, says the drainage works on Chandwe Musonda and Lumumba Roads will be completed in the next ten days.
Speaking when he toured drainages in Lusaka, Mr Sikazwe said he is satisfied with works done so far.
The Minister said a good drainage system has been the outcry of the people for a long time now because floods are now being experienced annually.
He said the work done so far is clear indication that nothing is impossible in reducing the annual problems of floods in Lusaka.
Mr Sikazwe pointed out that a proper drainage system is a huge challenge by government and therefore needs to be prioritised.
He said once the drainage system is done it will reduce flooding problems that the city of Lusaka has been grappling with.
The Lusaka Province Minister was accompanied by Lusaka District Commissioner (DC), Ashel Kampengele.

PF you’ve been in charge of Lusaka City Council since 2006 and if you really cared you should have fixed this problem a long time ago. It is high time we started having directly elected Mayors . Citizens should have someone to hold responsible for services in their cities and towns. This is one aspect of devolution not the never ending creation of new districts.

PF has been in charge of Lusaka city for 12 years, now this drainage issue is very old. Who has failed kanshi mwe bantu? It is this same PF cadres now in offices the former councilors of PF. They are always planning to fail, they have never done anything tangible. Atase.
