MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba has said that the recent expulsion of Major Richard Kachingwe from the party cannot be overturned.
Dr. Mumba said the decision to expel Major Kachingwe was done by the National Executive Committee in accordance with the party’s constitution.
“That is now water under the bridge,” Dr. Mumba said.
“We are focused on moving forward and we will not be distracted.”
He said no individual is bigger than the NEC as it is the supreme organ of the party outside the convention.
The MMD leader also cautioned senior party members to desist from discussing party affairs in the media.
He was referring on Saturday’s statement issued by Vice President for Administration Brian Chituwo that an urgent NEC meeting shall be held to discuss the expulsion of Major Kachingwe and the invalidation of his presidency of the party.

Meanwhile, MMD vice president for administration Brain Chituwo has refused to further comment on the statement he issued over the weekend. Dr. Chituwo said that he would not make any further comments in addition to the comprehensive statement he issued on Saturday.
“My brother… I have just told myself that I will not say or issue more comments from what I said. I think I already said something so I, can’t comment more,” Dr Chituwo said
And MMD Vubwi MP Eustarkio Kazonga refused to make any comment regarding the current party affairs issues. He said, “I think for now, there is no comment from me”

At the beginning it was a clear cut decision with very concrete accusations, now we are having doubts in Nevers, he is now seeming as stubborn as Andeleki. (very dictatorial actually).

Nevers Mumba as the president should show leadership and not over-react. Kachingwe is a senior member of the party they should have found other ways of resolving the problem. Mumba is being a little bit childish and tantramic! It is always cheap to prove that you are more powerful or that you have more power when you are confronted by a surbodinate in your own organisation…it is a sign of weakness in a leader, infact it is a sign that you are not mature enough to be a leader. The former Pastor destroyed his Church (Victory Ministries) formed a pressure group NCC later on a political party, formed Reformed Party, abandoned it and joined MMD to finish it off. Now MPs are saying if Major Kachingwe is not brought back then no funding to the party. (It means a lot) read between the lines. Mumba is hungry for riches not to serve the pipo. Shame on you. Remember you are still the president for Reformed party. How can you be a leader of two parties?
On its own MMD cannot defeat PF. On its own UPND cannot defeat PF. Plain facts are ignored deliberately but at own downfall. But MMD combined might try to unseat PF. This fact is ignored due to power hungry stances of HH and Nevers, none of them wants to be led by the other. And even if the joined forces there are great faultlines between and among them. Kachingwe has demonstrated his incompetency in all his steps leading to his final expulsion.
Major Kachingwe was the chief administrator of MMD party. The party got into trouble with statutory returns and its vision as a party was absent. In his position Kachingwe should have crafted a policy for the party’s assets and functioning source of funds for its operations. Kachingwe had the power to see RB and make him see the needs of the party at any time but failed as CEO of the party in all this leading to the attempted de-registration of party. The final strke of his failure was for him to fail to raise all issues he is raising now as CEO to which NEC has obligation to listen to. If and only if, NEC disregarded him his exit would have won hearts of Zambians.

During a press conference, MP Mulusa said that, “those that have since defected have records of criminal activities and as such they are trying to find a way out by associating with the PF government”. This is the statement that Nevers Mumba should have issued from the very beginning! Most of those causing confusion in MMD have no class, they are facing theft charges and want to destroy the MMD in exchange for forgiveness from Sata. I used to have a lot of respect for Dr. Chituwo, —————–but i now have some question marks on him.
